Sometimes, you may get lucky with Chaos Gates and chaos can give you a Death Defiance for the run.

I recommend it. I 100% bastion, transistor, and pyre before playing hades and they were all masterpieces imo. Just beautiful games - they won't take as long either. Took me 20-25hrs to 100% the 3 games

Nah, it's definitely do able with flurry slash and arti attk into a heart rend duo. Most of those clears are with Arthur however haha. I speedrun that aspect.

I definitely would go over to #h1-builds-and-combat and run some ideas. Dashing and positioning is a large part of most of the swords for sure. Flurry with Zag sword is pretty mega though since it's so fast.

So how you people go Fast?
Choose what you want to go for beforehand in terms of end of run builds. Duo boons like merciful end and heart rend can wreck enemies super fast. Start your run with a keepsake from one of the gods in those duo's. With Eris rail and fists you can just go zeus as well, not necessarily any duo needed. From there on you want to prioritize shops, story rooms, chaos gates (unless you're in the room before the end shop), and then pick minibosses over normal rooms as they can usually be defeated faster. Proper meg and mirror usage is obviously important too. Also, pause the game while choosing which gate to take, it pauses the timer.

hermes legendary is definitely a must-have, yeah. having to collect the casts is a pain unless you have godly reflexes not to get hit in the meanwhile. exit wounds, while not needed imo, is a great way to add ridiculous damage to an already good cast build. i usually get my cast up to lv 8+ and just keep cast+special+cast+special-ing.
definitely not a good all-around aspect, doesn't mean i don't love it.
