I will say it can go two ways: you can either use it like a crutch to get you through your run, or you can use it as permanent gas in the tank to practice your dodging skills

So Zeus chain lightning does 15 damage at epic rarity. Add that to the 150 base damage for 165. Aphro attack is around +90%, so you’ll be doing 285 per shot.

Generally % upgrades work best on high damage low frequency attacks (hestia) and flat damage works best on fast low damage attacks

Yeah generally I win now. But 32H can still be dangerous, a bad set of benefits packages early in the run can still doom it. But I'd say once I'm at the heroes with at least 2 DD's I feel safe enough now.

The most difficult were some of the aspect specific hammers for me. Like lucifer has like 6 specific hammers and I am not a fan of the aspect in general, so doing just those probably took as long as most other weapons.
Most sword builds were dicey at best as well

If you dont know what boon the ultimate premium vintage is, its the one that makes it so that if you pick up nectar you gain more max health. AND ITS AMAZING! These moments when you got the chance between a centaur heart and nectar, and your like “why not both”. BUT THATS NOT ALL! Premium vintage also gives you a nectar instantly, where the effect already applies. So you have moments where you can choose between a centaur heart, nectar or dionysus and your like “why not all three”. Or when you give Dionysus nectar and he is a real bro, the dude gives you back your nectar, gives you health AND makes it so future nectar also give health. Shout out to the best boon EVER! React if you are smart and know that premium vintage is the best boon, and makes Dionysus the best god! I really hope they make something like that in Hades II.

I got my second EM Hades kill on my final run.

(Of note, I did not time it properly to get the last achievement on that final run. Buuuut the Poseidon keepsake was only four rooms off, so I just started a run up, cleared four runs, and let myself get bludgeoned to death by the big ogre dudes with the clubs in Tartarus.)

(Excalibur is my go-to for when I want to kill EM Hades.)

But I wanted to try this on a whim, I really wanted to go for it since I hadn't done so in the past, and I feel like I've been really on point with my abilities, so I turned the heat up to 32, to go for that.

I barely managed, but I did it. It was the closest I've come to losing a run too lol. That was stressful lol. Now back to my regular heat

just wanted to share what i did earlier

i have finally 100%ed the entire game

took me 300 hours, 218 runs across 3 saves

i'm just so happy that i was able to finally finish this game! definitely one of my favorite games ever and roguelike game ever.

the achievement friends forever honestly wasn't the hardest achievement for me to get but it's definitely one of the most time consuming ones i have ever done (gives me ac franchise 100% completion flashbacks)

the hardest one to get honestly was the thorn of thanatos achievement, that freaking achievement made me wanna rip my hair out and put me on the verge of scrapping my 100% attempt entirley; i was so freaking proud of myself when i finally did it 🙂

i posted this in the subreddit but got told by the mods to do it here, so here i am!

Curious, why the 3 saves

1st save was my first go at the game, it’s where beat redacted for the first time but at the time, i didn’t really understand the heat system yet and the gathering of resources. i felt that i needed to upgrade my weapons and have a deeper understanding of them but as i realized, i missed all the free titan blood and resources at 0 heat for all the other weapons because at the time, i only used the shield and rail exclusively.

so, i decided that i was going to start fresh, made the 2nd save and really grind out and make use of all the resources that each weapon gave me. i got all the blood, diamond, and ambrosia for each weapon and wanted to upgrade the mirror as much as possible before i move on with the pact of punishment so that i can really have a good foundation with it.

now for the 3rd save, i made that much later trying to accomplish the “thanks but no thanks” achievement where you would have to sell a legendary boon, i tried doing it in the 2nd save but i couldn’t do it because at the time, i didn’t know that there were prerequisites for getting a legendary boon, so i tried doing them but i failed.
but then i remembered that poseidon gives you the legendary huge catch boon when you get the rod of fishing for the first time, so tried that route, but when i finally got to the point of getting the rod and doing a run, poseidon gave and introduced to me a call instead of the legendary boon. so, i just scrapped that save and method and just went back to grinding on getting a legendary boon on my second save which is my main

here i got nemesis build that capitalized on sweet surrender and heart rend for that sweet sweet 600 damage on crit slashes

or one that used the beam's quick fire rate to apply stacks of doom, and using hellfire to activate it if i want a quick kill

athena and aphrodite are easily both my favorite boon givers. plus the synergy that i get from having greater recall + parting shot is crazy, smoldering air + an epic quick favor with an aphrodite call is just so freaking deadly (i was able to just stunlock and negate attacks from all bosses especially [redacted] therefore making quick work out of them) and to tie all this up, getting flurry jab + serrated point is just a freaking godsend, by then my spear is basically op

i wish i was able to use this build when i was going for my 32 heat run but getting all these boons were a longshot!

Demeter isn’t really crucial for anything here aside from stubborn roots which only matters when you’re on your last dd which means you’ll get very little value out of it if you aren’t constantly lossing your dd’s, which you shouldn’t be.
Smair with zeus call will be a ton of dps, so you can kill bosses faster -> taking less hits. Lightning phalanx is a super strong duo with huge damage capabilities compared to zeus cast kinda being zeus cast

also try taking static discharge for jolted it’ll boost your zeus damage a bunch

Don’t prioritise the cast boons from hermes, rather hyper sprint -> rush delivery gives you movespeed based on your bonus movespeed, and hey hypersprint gives a 100% (multiplicative) bonus to movespeed

yeah, that was a pretty quirk in my whole build, cause if i remember correctly, i got the demeter first, then zeus, and then aphro. at the time, i was expecting for a different build but i just eventually winged it.

and at the time too, i was banking for a greater aphro call (it’s my fave call) but as i got to the temple, i was offered smair, i just took it

It’s not a good enough boost to your dash striking damage if you already have the other one to warrant the defensive drop

i know, i realized that way too late, since i usually use both hammers on by themselves , and at the time, i thought it was a great idea and a no brainer to combine them

what i did to offset the imbalance of both hammers is just use the special and the post rush dash of the aspect of achilles to get away and get around
