Put a lot of poms on Tidal Dash and a couple on Static Discharge/Hunter's Mark.

Best hammer is Flurry Jab by miles.

I found with that fight it was less about the build and more about just not getting hit by the spear.

Once you learn the bulls attack patterns and can avoid the thrown spear the fight gets much easier

zag shield is very solid if you max it out which only costs 5 blood

also zeus shield even at lvl 1 is nuts with zeus special boon but it's harder to use.

That infographic is unexpectedly underrating Chiron. In my experience, early on I had an easy escape with a Level 1 Chiron bow. Whereas I've struggled to get out with Zag fists at all. Chiron plus Hangover special is max stacks of Hangover permanently on any target from a safe distance even at level 1. Attack/Special/Special then repeat. Not ideal for room clearing, but makes some of the harder targets that I struggled with pretty easy.

The bloodstone drop time only matters for boss fights and not at all if you take Trippy Shot with Stygian Soul, which is probably the second best build on it.

Yeah I guess my main struggle (and this is just me) was with the bosses, not the rooms. So any aspect that helped with REDACTED was much more valuable to me than others. For example Zeus attack Eris is highly recommended, but I much preferred Dionysus attack Eris. Slower room clear, but much easier bosses -- for me.

So Level 1 Chiron was great for bosses. But I'll have to give Hera a run...

Oh that brings up another point. Builds that are super easy to get were much more useful to me than builds that need X and Y and Z and on and on. So Drunken Strike is pretty great on it's own (on eris Rail or Chiron bow), whereas some other really nice builds require a bit more luck and would frustrate me when 3/4 through the run it just wasn't coming together. This is pre-mirror-rerolls which is where noobs are stuck at.

Well, Drunken Strike relies a lot on poms.

Lightning Strike relies on Static Discharge, but that has a 50% chance to show up from any boon from Lord Zeus once you have Lightning Strike.

How come the first boon in the first room when you have no boons at all, isn't always 3 of attack/special/dash/cast? Sometimes I'm only offered 1 or two of those and then other things. Rule 1 you posted seems to say it must offer 3 of the 4.

Nah, you're never offered other boons unless it's a scripted event like when Poseidon shows up to give you Huge Catch at the start of the run.

But if you reroll, you can end up rolling into other boons.

Hmm, I'm positive I started a run with cup, got Dio offer, and it didn't have Attack. So I though oof, it must be offering Special/Cast/Dash instead, but I double checked and it was not so I was confused.

Does a boon that doesn't go in the slot, but affects it count? I was assuming it had to be the boon that occupies that priority slot

Initially I had a sense that t2 status curses had a higher appearance rate (at first I thought it was 100% maybe) just from experience. When I dived into the exact mechanics of all this, I just did it the old school way and did a bunch of runs documenting all the boon offers and figured out things from there. AbundantToaster looked at the game scripts around the same time independently of me (https://www.reddit.com/r/HadesTheGame/comments/llznpb/a_mostly_complete_guide_to_boon_choices_and/) but mistakenly lists Call as a priority boon (it's not). I also verified my findings later looking at the scripts.

Did you turn on God Mode? If you are starting to burn out, do that sooner rather than later. Once you learn what boons you like and start to use keepsakes to get those boons, then things started to get much more reliable for me.

A Diamond is sometimes on offer in the ||Styx store||. So once you have some reliable builds you can just get there and either buy ||blood or a diamond||. I would experiment and about halfway through decide whether I was doing just a shopping run with no hope to win, or a win attempt, or both shopping and a chance at winning -- depending how strong the build felt. If just shopping you can take coin boons and coin rooms, and save up.

Kinda late but usually you want Rocket first, then Cluster for second hammer so you end up with Cluster rockets (5 rockets =400 base damage), taking them in the opposite order is totally fine tho, the reason you take rocket first is because it’s a lot quicker so you can just shotgun an enemy and you get your buff instantly, it’s also gonna do more damage and it’s easier to work with as opposed to cluster which has a slight damage penalty and takes a bit for the projectiles to fall down so sometimes enemies will just walk out of it

Huge tip for Theseus: always kill Asterius (the bull) first. If you kill Theseus first the bull actually gets a damage boost for the rest of the fight so it’s better to target him first since not only is there the damage boost but his attacks also hit harder even without it

Try learning Asterius' patterns, it took me some time, but I can easily pass it. With Asterius your dashes are key, when he runs towards you make sure you run him to a structure. Also on his second phase be careful with his AOE extra attack when he slams down.

With Theseus make sure when he has the mark on you to dash it or try cheesing him by hiding behind structures/columns. Also when he is in his second phase, he is targetable whenever the god attacks are on. Doom from Ares or the burn from Dionysus are really strong against him, since you are dealing dmg and he can't block it with his shield.

Also after throwing his spear, he is targetable for a quick backstab. You need to be quick with him and to keep your distance at times for his spin attack.

It doesn't change, giving up keeps the same starting seed, you should die in one way or another to refresh that, also giving up means you lose that run's progress

So if you start a run gift a god then give up it's basically as if you never gifted them

however, with the rail, you can just continue attacking and the special is worth it for its damage

basically, use your special to maximize dps, and based on the weapon u use it'll sometimes help or hurt

Was doing 2 - 3 runs and can defeat bone hydra easily. Went to elysium and keep getting killed by these 2 bossess.... 😭

Definitely focus on trying to kill the Minotaur first, it’s much easier to handle Theseus once he’s gone

Alternatively, massacre both of them so quickly that they die within seconds of each other (not recommended for any melee apart from ||arthur||, requires aoe too sometimes)

Aspect of Hera can melt them

I got both on the same strike using hera, ||arthur|| and ||beowulf||

Go for 1 at a time, usually go for Asterius more as he applies more pressure and gets a damage buff when Theseus dies.

Also Skelly keepsake is amazing! Although only 50 hearts haha

Start with Artemis’ keepsake and take Deadly Flourish from her, your ideal hammers are Concentrated Volley and Relentless Volley, attack hammers and Piercing Volley are also okay, take Aphro’s keepsake going into Asphodel so you can grab her attack ideally (dash also works), that unlocks heartrend which will make your crits stronger and overall damage just a lot better

You can also start with Dio’s keepsake and take Drunken Flourish, try to pom that as much as you can, hammers are the same in terms of priority and do the same thing in Asphodel to unlock Low tolerance

You can also go for something like Curse of Nausea if you see Ares (take vengeance or attack maybe)

And having a good damage Call is always good on Chiron because the buildup is so good

Or Athena because it’ll have great uptime and it’s amazing defensively

Chiron is quite underwhelming without being upgraded to like lv4-5

Other good things to note is don’t add more Hangover sources because they will overlap so if you have very weak ticks from like the dash they can knock the stronger ticks from the Special/ Call etc so just stick to one source

Any Chaos scaling you can get on your Special is always good, and rarity bonuses also improves your duo and legendary odds, good to know to improve your decision making so you get builds more consistently, you also shouldnt open up any other duos aside from the specific one that you want otherwise you reduce your odds significantly

If your Chiron is low level just go for the Hangover build, that’s gonna be your best bet since the arrows apply full hangover stacks anyway, you can also go for a Sea Storm build but it’s a bit tricky and also just a ton fo Zeus and Poseidon required for it to shred properly so it’s not as consistent

And the Artemis crit build is more reliant on hammers or some good Chaos/global damage because honestly Heartbreak strike + Deadly Flourish + Heartrend isn’t that amazing imo, you need some other scaling to back it up

What are you struggling to do consistently exactly? Dash attacks are pretty much pressing Dash then followed by an attack, the window for it is quite lenient and you should be able to notice that's its a dash attack due to the faster charge also the way Zag is holding the bow

Up to you really, whatever you think you'll enjoy more, you'll get around to investing in all the aspects eventually, for Varatha Achilles is very versatile and will most likely be the strongest aspect out of the 4 for the time being, for Stygius you can go for Nemesis or Poseidon, both are fine, Nemesis requires more fundamental sword knowledge and precision since it relies on dash strikes and good special uptime meanwhile Poseidon can rely less on those and more on the Cast

I’ve only beaten hades twice so I’m still a bit new, but usually varatha’s special is to do damage from afar while at low health, Achilles aspect makes it useful by making special have a stat boost

It depends on the aspect, for Achilles the Special is what grants you the buff which is a big portion of your damage and it lasts for 4 Attacks/Casts after that Raging rush so you should try to keep refreshing it once it runs out to maximize the amount of empowered Attacks/Casts that you do, for Hades' Spear and Zag Spear the Special wont be of good use unless you have Exploding Launcher and potentially Charged Skewer (only if you have Exploding Launcher first)

Also further upgrading an aspect doesnt change its moveset, it will just make some of its traits stronger, like Nemesis gets more crit, Hades' buff is bigger, Achilles bigger buff etc

Also, all calls actually give invincibility for a brief time on activation.

A little longer than a dash even.

So if you're caught with your dashes on cooldown, you can just use your Call instead if it's up.

Doesn't need to be one that specifically makes you invulnerable for a long time.

This is what your mirror should look like for most things in the game, some of those can vary and some should stay like that,
-Fiery Presence is important to hit certain breakpoints, for example one shotting witches / brimstones etc, some weapons that dont have a strong first hit can go for Shadow Presence instead
-Chthonic Vitality is consistent healing across the biomes, Dark Regeneration will mostly only heal you after Bosses (if you dont have bounties) and there's a fountain there anyway so it's not as good and reliable
-Death Defiances are the go to here, they're forgiving and allow for a big hp pool unlike Stubborn Defiance which you can have 1 of and it also heals for less, so although you're allowed to die in every room once, most new players tend to not have that issue but rather die multiple times in boss fights so SD isnt helpful here
-Second Dash is quite important, it's just a lot of mobility, not much to say about it, Shields and the 4th aspect of the Fists are the only ones that can reasonably manage with 1 dash only so Ruthless Reflex becomes a solid pick
-Boiling blood is just good damage, it's very strong on certain aspects such as Hestia / Zag bow etc and less so on aspects that rely on other sources of damage such as Zeus lightning or Hangover etc but usually you dont change this anyway because everything can benefit from it in one way or another, you can experiment
-Infernal vs Stygian is preference assuming you're not using a Cast weapon / relying on your cast, if so, then it's more specific, Crush Shot Hera uses Infernal for example, Trippy Flare Hera uses Stygian, it takes time to learn those and it's best to ask

-Deep Pockets is quite an important upgrade, having Gold early in Tartarus is very valuable and shouldn't be overlooked, there is a shop right before every biome boss, so it makes sense to use your gold to buy upgrades before entering that boss, which in turn makes Golden Touch quite useless because you're not gonna have a ton of Gold to scale from anyway
-Thick Skin is good and safe, High Confidence speaks for itself, if you're not too familiar with game mechanics and have a good idea of what you're doing, best sticking to Thick skin
-Family Favorite is a strong pick because you're gonna usually see 5 Gods in each run (counting Hermes) so that's 25% extra global damage all the time, can't go wrong with it, if your build revolves around having 2 curses then it's a good idea to consider Privileged Status, again, best to ask because it's not always correct, example: Low Tolerance Chiron
-Dark Foresight, this might not be as obvious, but this is one of the strongest upgrades in the whole mirror, altering the laurels ratio is way too powerful, essentially this makes it so that you see more Hearts/Gold/Poms/Boons as opposed to Darkness/Gemstones/Nectar and Keys, also it improves your hammer odds so you're usually gonna see your first one early as opposed to in Elysium for example
-God's Pride is nice, Epic Boons are gud, especially Hermes, which otherwise has a very low chance of giving you Epic, you can swap this to Legacy when your build relies heavily on a certain Duo(s), and some builds still opt for Pride despite wanting Duo(s), example: Merciful End
-Fated Persuasion helps with build consistency by allowing you to reroll god offers as opposed to room rewards, you can also reroll other stuff such as wells, Authority is mostly for memeing/ if you know what you're doing

Witches are a bit annoying to deal with at first, you get an item later in the game that will help you a lot with that, for now you'll need to be deliberate and practice iframing the projectiles once you're overwhelmed, if you dash a little to the side they will group up together which makes it easier to take them out with aoe and also having projectiles coming at you from 1 direction only is quite helpful

You can force the first boon to be from a specific god, using keepsakes, and you can do the same in Asphodel, that’s 2 gods of your choice, a virtual god poole exists in this game, once it’s full only those gods will be offered, and it’s 4 gods, so 2 of your choices and 2 that you get along the way, usually you just need 2 main gods and the rest is gonna be supporting stuff
