An important thing that the game doesn't tell you is that Dashes are all iframes until you dash-strike, then you're vulnerable, it's good to know that because it'll make dodging a lot of attacks infinitely easier, aside from that just try out different stuff and familiarize yourself with the different weapons and effects and you'll do fine

It's probably because you still haven't experienced the game yet

The Dash is a basic move in the game and you use to avoid most attacks and it also helps you travel some distance

But it's also used offensively if you press Dash then Attack successively you'll perform a Dash-strike, which as stated above, strips the iframes that an empty dash gives

a lot of aspects have one specific boon you want from a certain god, and you can use a keepsake to get that early or in asphodel

like if you're using rail and you want Zeus attack, you can use a keepsake to get it then build around it by choosing boons which compliment it

i can go crit with zag bow if i use an artemis keepsake to get Artemis attack, and from there i will continue to get more crit boons

boons arent just "rng" theres a lot more depth to it. different types of boons have different chances to show up, certain boons will or will not show up depending on which you take. Same with gods; after taking boons from 4 different olympians, only those 4 and hermes will show up in your run unless you use keepsakes to force another in. duo and legendary chances can be increased from a number of sources and the fated persuasion mirror upgrade gives you a lot more chances to get what you want.

They've answered that in an AMA before. They've always viewed Daedalus Hammers as more grounded in the world. It was important to them that all the different upgrades you can get in a run feel distinct. So you can reroll boons and use god keepsakes to force boons and stuff, and they're more malleable in that way. But Daedalus hammers are more grounded.

What I do is just bait the god attacks into 1 area if possible, and use the time I buy myself to beat his ass

Or I just directly hover over him@during his initial summon and then periodically double dash away then back through the attacks

Practice Dash-Strike Power Shots with the bow.

Dash > hold Attack, and release at the right time to do a Power Shot. Dash-Strikes charge faster than the normal Attack.

||you can do any heat above whats enough to fill the gauge. 2 heat will count the same as doing 1 heat||

Asterius is pretty straight-forward. You just keep doing Dash-Strike Power Shots and try to stay behind him or out of range of his attacks, and pay attention to when he starts the charge.

Fighting Theseus (after you've defeated Asterius) with the bow can be a little tricky. You want to get close to him to bait his spin attack, then you empty-dash to avoid the spin and then get some shots in until you see he readies another attack, then empty-dash his attack again, etc.

Empty dash = dash without doing an Attack or anything.

Zagreus is invincible during empty dashes, but you lose that invincibility if you press Attack or anything during your dash.

So you use the invincibility of your empty dash to avoid getting hit by his spin attack. Also just generally something to be mindful of in other encounters.

Well, you also have time to dash out of range of the spin, but that won't always work and you can sometimes end up being a bit far to get a good shot off, so it's good to try to learn the timing.

If you don't bait his spin attack etc. when you play with the bow, it can be a little tricky to get any good shots off because he keeps holding his shield up.

By a lot

Twin shot is usually the one, only argument would be Flurry for Hera but you have to be good at controlling it

Usually you’re looking for:
Twin Shot or Triple Shot ideally for first hammer
Perfect Shot or Point Blank Shot ideally for second hammer

Other good ones are Flurry or Explosive

Flurry can be first hammer on Hera, besides that you always want it Second after Twin/Triple

Explosive is also good second hammer, less good for first

Chiron likes Relentless and Concentrated since they are Special hammers and that’s what you rely on as opposed to Attack

go for the bull first, keep away from theseus and listen/look for when he is going to throw his spear at you and either dash sideways or hide behind a pillar. Then it's just learning the bulls attack patterns and knowing where the openings are. When the bull is down, hide behind a pillar/bait the spear throw and then dash up and hit him in the back a few times. rinse and repeat - when he is half dead you do the same but dodge the extra god aoe

once you learn to kill the bull without taking a heap of thrown spear damage the fight gets pretty easy.

besides that collect god/boon keepsakes and use them for the first 2 areas to help build what you're after, then maybe acorn for the third boss

||Ok, so first timers with hades, keep your distance. He does a huge amount of damage, upwards of 60. If you’re good with timing dashes, just dash through his spins. Speaking of which, dash a LOT. Stay as mobile as possible , especially if going melee. Avoid his casts too, since they afflict you with boiling blood, and you’ll regret getting hit by them once you get punished by his other attacks. If a play doesn’t seem safe, stay behind cover and keep your distance||

||Ignore his summons, since they’re not too much of a threat most of the time||

||Unless it’s a splitter, in that case, kill it asap, especially if you have acorn on, since it can waste your invulnerability||

I think the best advice anyone can give ever is that every time you get to the end you are going to learn the pattern eventually, whether that takes you 50 tries or 100 it doesnt matter. Just try to learn the moves sets, watching videos online of the fight can be very helpful

Unlock every base weapon using Keys, then do a run and come back to the House (to refresh the seed) then try to interact with the weapon Holster shadowy thingy and it should allow you to use aspects

Well you have to learn if you want to see results with most weapons, being deliberate with your inputs goes a long way

Dash > hold Attack > release when it flashes for a Power Shot.

Dash-Strikes charge faster than your normal Attack.

Twin and Triple are both great. I prefer Twin Shot.

"Boon" usually just refers to boons from the gods btw.

Twin Shot is usually the most effective range for bow anyway.

So it's essentially just straight-up double damage.

I'd say the shield! It's great to have the ability to block, it's super handy if you're having some trouble. The bow takes some time to master, but once you do, it's great with long range!

That hammer isnt worth it

Most of the sword hammers are pretty bad, the hidden sword aspect reduces that pretty bad pool but there’s still a few sucky ones

I wish hidden aspect removed cursed slash, hoarding slash and piercing wave from the pool as well

It's helped carry a lot of players to their first victories, but at high level play, it's pretty bad.

To optimize DPS at high level play, you're pretty much only doing Special > Dash-Strike x2 > repeat and never using your normal Attack.

So Cursed Slash would just be -60% HP with no upside.
