first of all, meta currencies honestly dont matter much at all. even in the mid game, the amount of darkness / gems you get from room rewards is pretty pathetic. most of your resources will come from treasure troves, shops, and something you buy from the house contractor

a rerolled boon has an equal chance to be good or bad as just a new boon, so that doesnt matter. on the other hand both boons could be good, and youll be much better off than a reroll. its a safety net bare minimum (2 meh are better than 1 meh), and it offers a higher payout ceiling (2 great)

so ive done 20 odd runs and the black portal to get a chaos boon has started popping up, i went down there once and i didnt really see what benefit it gives you... you loose 21 health just to go down there and the boons he gives you all seem to have bad effects. The only reason i could think to go down there is he gives a good gift, is there any other reason to go down there?

It’s a trade off. Take damage and have a curse, but once you make it through, that power stays the rest of the run. Four rooms of more trap damage is worth a flat 50 percent attack buff the rest of the run. You do need to weigh your options though and it is absolutely a high risk/high reward thing. The other piece is if you take chaos, you get a free room with no enemies to fight, which won’t matter yet but once you wanna go fast, free rooms are everything
But you can’t pick up your cast stone for 12 seconds for four rooms in a non cast build, in exchange for like 50% more money the rest of the run, that’s worth it

And so far my favorite weapon is the shield and my favorite boons are the one that deflects enemy attacks when I dodge, the one makes my cast ricochet off enemies, the ones that make my attack/special inflict doom, and the posideon ultimate attack thing
I mean like, with that setup the 2nd boss was ezpz and the 3rd world wasn't even a challenge, I was just able to spam the right 4 buttons and it was a cake walk, however the 3rd boss(es) were not so easy to take on with that setup

The best thing about the game is that even the “worst” boons are still totally serviceable and you can eat the game with basically anything, which encourages experimentation. Some of my best runs came with boons I didn’t want.

you could farm deaths to up the god mode damage resistance, but i wouldnt worry about not being able to beat bosses really quickly. just keep at it and learn the patterns. after theseus attacks he turns his back and you can attack him, and there are also some attacks which ignore his shield
you could also try a different weapon if the fists arent working for you, but generally the fight is about waiting for him to turn around, and i personally suggest killing asterius first so you dont have to deal with both when theseus goes into the second phase

To add to that, Achilles can work with any of the casts, but Ares and Demeter works best since that means you won’t constantly be spamming and rinsing over and over again, since the casts stays for a while
Also, these two don’t lodge themselves into the enemy, so you don’t have to constantly be waiting on cast “reloads”

||well for the hades boss fight first of all its best to use acorn and generally play somewhat safe when attacking him since he has faster wind ups than other bosses so generally its get a couple hits in then dodge away since he'll probably be attacking you right after and also if hes close to you and using the sweep attack dodge into it since he moves quite a bit forwards. what types of attacks are giving you the most trouble also||

If you have trouble beating the final boss then you can just save up 1,200 gold to buy titain's blood from the store before the fight if you don't have trouble with act 3 bosses
There's a chance it'll be a diamond instead of titain's blood though
That's what I did before I got decently comfortable with the final boss fight

Having to apply Weak with your dash because you haven't been able to get Aphro attack but you're already at the final boss fight 🙂
I think RNG is the most frustrating part of this game
I have level 11 Drunken Flourish but it's normal rarity so the damage is still eh and I was never able to get Heartbreak Strike despite getting Aphro so applying Weak is annoying

I've always wondered, how do status boons with different damage numbers work? For example Drunken Flourish and Peer Pressure. They both add hangover but they (can) have different damage numbers. Does the higher one override the lower one?

defeated ||hades ||for the first time! i was using a festive fog with also a ||demeter|| boon on my cast. also had dionysis call with zeus dash and doom on my main shield attack. dionysis's festive fog and the doom just melted ||hades||

You need to do a favour with Nyx and ||Chaos|| it might take a while to appear.

If the heart is locked you gotta do a favor to unlock it. Nyx's favor involves ||chaos||, so you'll have to get them up to the locked heart too and then do what nyx asks

In only 9 runs i got to ||hades||, i feel like ive been doing too good, the architect dude apeared before hades told Zagreus about it, took 2 failed runs until he finally told Zag what he was doing there.
Did i soft lock the game? Or did i miss a ton of lore and stuff?
Btw i even almost beaten ||hades|| when ||he|| get pissed off, got ||him|| at 1/3 health left until i died

Thanks, but i think it was because of daedalus hammer i got double nova and lunge, zeus special, dmg reduce from aphrodite and dmg reduce from being in the hangover fog
Also had 480~ health and both the single death defiance and skelly's tooth

final boss is the kind that you can walk into with full hp, 3 defiances, and a really good build and get straight back home

Then I would focus on getting more keys (trading gems for keys is a valid way to go for that.) The 10 keys level is helpful and the 20 keys level opens up a significant damage boost.

if you dont have trouble with the first two bosses you can try farming darkness by using poseidons keepsake to grab oceans bounty early then grab chaos gates whenever you see them and go for extra darkness rewards

Meg (50) + Hydra (100) = 150 darkness per run into Elysium so that plus the multiplier suggestions from @polar finch should get that second DD pretty quickly.
