Going from level 1 to level 2 is roughly the same as increasing rarity, but going from level 3 to level 4 is a lot less increase in power

The rule of thumb I've heard is that it's not worth leveling up a boon past level 3

But it's always worth increasing a boon's rarity

Once all the pillars are down and the wave come from all 4 sides, I find staying near the long edges instead of the middle makes it easier to dash through everything, though ymmv ||

Early clears are easy with that one cast boon (||Dem's||), getting that going while you dash around avoiding damage. Also hiding behind pillars and such

At least that's my experience. Also you can try get ||Arty+Dem|| duo for this, but even without it it's a viable build for this situation. And Athena dash keeps you alive
