About me i recommend kill to minotaur first because it like pressure and if you made theseus use power first (50% heal or it have barrier) minotaur 'll push you in to theseus power zone and you gonna die if you kill minotaur first and it easier to duel with theseus that all

because it can still potentially help you clear runs

I assume you're not using || Extreme Measures ||, it takes practice to learn the movesets mostly but play it safe and take your time, no rush to attack at every opportunity, if you get too close to him he will spin so keep that in mind, otherwise avoid his spear throws, they are fast so hiding behind pillars is an easy trick, when he calls for Aid he will be vulnerable, just keep an eye on the god's attacks, after throwing his spears he will turn around so there is another opportunity to attack there, just take it slow and have a clean fight

what is better, death defiance or stubborn defiance?

MiKe mentioned earlier that its used later when you have no healing but im kinda confused as to what hes rferring to

Spoiler, unlocked after beating the game: ||Heat, Lasting Consequences 4 means you cannot heal from Fountains, food, things like Nourished soul from Demeter and Strong Drink from Dionysis also don't work and are affected by LC, therefore every point of health you lose with Death Defiances is gone, and your only way of healing is using a Death Defiance which will replenish 50%, but you only have 3 of those per Escape attempt so its not a reliable way to heal. Stubborn Defiance however heals for less (30%) but its usable each room, so it will become your way to heal, for example, if I have 10/200 HP and the encounter is about to end, I make sure I die first, so my Stubborn Defiance heals me back to 30% (60/200) and then I proceed to the next room, and my SD refills. This requires you to be comfortable with bosses since you'll have overall less hp, if you consistently lose 2-3 Defiances on bosses then you'll surely die with Stubborn Defiance on, and will need more practice (learning movesets, dodging more accurately etc..) before you start using SD. ||

More spoilers:
||So to sum it up:
If you have LC4: Stubborn Defiance is the way to go.
If not there is little to no point taking it over normal Death Defiances. ||

Question: ||as the game gets harder, is it still possible to get through with more suboptimal builds?|| I know the meta seems to be wild damage stacking and crits, but I like to run an Aphrodite/Dionysus debuff/poison build

But if you ask me, you can still get away with funny dumb strats up to like 32-40 heat where it starts getting tight, and then zfter it becomes just optimal, but you usually don't need to go past 20, or 32 for the statue, so really you can just go wild||

Though it might still put you in a pinch from time to time, you should be good for most of the game ;p but do try out different things it's more fun

The odds for a legendary or duo boon aren't much worse, but if you're high-rolling for one and you can only afford one of the boons, buy the cheaper one.

I remember in Early Access, it was said that the cheaper ones have the same increased rarity as the more expensive ones. But I think that was fixed since? I don't actually know lol.

||heat is optional modifiers to change the difficulty of your game (in mostly 1 direction) and to just mix things up if it starts to feel easy or repetitive.||
It’s also ||how you get new bounties (titan blood, diamonds, ambrosia) when you’ve gotten it on all weapons (without counting prophecies, trading & fishing for them).||

Some ||heats|| are considered more difficult then others (||and some are considered free heats cuz of how easy they are if, say, you take less then 36 minutes pr run [TD1]||)

Take out Asterius first - Theseus will mostly stay in 1 place if you don’t get too close to him

Pay attention to the pink mark that appears on you as it shows Theseus preparing to throw his spear at you, then dodge via dashing away when he throws

In addition, when it's only Theseus left, the strategy is to wait for him to throw the spear and he exposes his back from where you are - that's when you strike.
