but if you do get extra casts it may be better than infernal, just a little hard to get that going sometimes

I’d upgrade both and try them each out to see which you prefer.

Boon codex is something you can get via contractor. On codex you can check each god's boons, and the requirements to be able to get it. All duo and legendary boons have requirements so if you want a specific one, you know what to get to be able to get the duo (though you might still not get the duo despite having requirements, it's simply gonna be added to the pool of possible boons, whereas you only 3 boons from that entire pool)

This is a really flexible game when it comes to building. You can count the number of true, boon/hammer/weapon specific, “builds” in this game on one hand

Most of what you need is the knowledge of what a powerful build looks like, how it feels and plays, and that’s experience. There are very few hard rules and dedicated “builds” but it’s absolutely important to know which gods generally do what and use that knowledge to adapt your boon choices around

yeah this game is really amazing for being able to pull a "almost anything is viable" game where you're not forced to take the same thing over and over to have fun

On top of that, those few corner cases of builds that call for specific weapons/boons/hammers are just optimal, rather than truly necessary. People will spout them at you over and over again because they sit at the top of their power classes, but don’t let that trick you into thinking other ways of playing are weak. People get tunnel-vision on the 99.9th percentile of power, and forget that all that horsepower is usually maximum theatre overkill, somewhat wasted on your average low-difficulty run

exactly, after finding out about it in the post game difficulty( ||the heat gauge|| ) part of the game i realized that yup if each chamber is gon feel like some mini boss i dont wanna have to worry about not having dots in the succeeding chambers

also just defeated the final boss again! - good news: more story. bad news: this is the third time ive won using aegis. really wish i could up my skills through winning using the other weapons

Nice. Don't worry, just take your time and find what suits you best. I often pick the one which has darkness boost to experiment with other weapons (although for some reason rail is the most picked one usually)
