For the ||spear? Yes, you need to invest a certain amount of Titan Blood in your weapons and then just wait until it comes up. How many runs/clears do you have?||

Maybe you're just unlucky, ||I got it a bit before 20.|| If you don't mind being a bit cheap with it, ||try going into runs and letting yourself get killed quickly. You'll exhaust Achilles' dialogue pool. If you keep doing runs with "important" things happening, you're likely giving him more dialogue.||
Also, it doesn't seem ||that the waking phrase get priority over semi-filler dialogue||

Basically, ||once you give a character 6 Nectars you'll see a locked heart in the Codex. To get past it, you need to talk to them until the relationship/story progresses on it's own. Then, you can give them an Ambrosia (gotten from clearing Elysium) instead of Nectar to fill out additional hearts. Certain characters, when they get the Ambrosia, will give you a "companion" (basically, a summon that you can use during a run)||
When I said "it won't matter until" I meant that's about how long it'll probably take

If you give a character (Nyx, Zeus, whoever) a Nectar, they give you a keepsake. You can equip them at the start of a run to get certain benefits
Through a longer process, ||you can get companions from some characters.|| Are you asking which characters ||give companions?||

You ||get a bond with them. There's a special icon next to their keepsake. Aside from that not much I don't think, I only have a bond with a few characters so far. Getting close to the Olympians is necessary for story progression in the later game. For some characters, you'll have to do something for them first.||
I think that for non Olympian ||and non keepsake|| characters ||you just create bonds for side story purposes||
Oh, and you can get wall scrolls of Achilles, Dionysus, and Aphrodite if you give them a second Nectar (you still have to pay the House Contractor for it)
And you can give Cerberus some bedding and toys if you give him an extra one or two

charging the bull rush blocks everything except aoe damage so its very safe, you can wait till the boss attacks you with the rush fully charged, then rush through him turn around, chuck shield run away and do it again

Charged shot lets you camp in the corners, block all damage and shoot anything that gets close, as well as knocking most enemies back. But it felt like cheating and wasn't very satisfying so I wouldn't recommend it

If it never flashes, you haven’t held it long enough or something is quite wrong with your game :/ Sit in the training room with skelly and just hold the attack down and observe the meter. Riiiiiight about when the charge hits 100% the meter itself will give a flash

||Lucifer|| is a weapon to get used to with time. You gotta max it out first to get the best use of its unique attributes, but it is a weapon worth investing in. The burst damage potential, especially with the Triple Bomb Daedalus Hammer, is insane

Nemesis gets you C R I T S
Poseidon is great for Cast builds
Achilles is a generally great spear in and of itself
Chaos's perk is easy to understand and get used to. Bonus shield specials after a rush.

Zag shield, bow, and gun are all really, reeeally great value investments for beginners
15 blood for all of those buys you 3 maxxed out killing machines

Any tips/advice on controlling the swords dash-strike? Im finding myself zig-zaging back and forth but missing the target quite a bit
With the fists you can really spam it. For sword it seems like its a lunge forward. I suppose i shouldnt spam dash-strike as fast

Dont autopilot sword. Unlike shield, it’ll get you killed quickly and easily
Try to use your special as a timing mechanism and as a microspacing tool. The optimal sword combo you’re going to see recommended most everywhere is: special, dash strike 2x, rinse/repeat
Try to focus down one enemy at a time, and dash back and forth through them, so you end up roughly back where you started
Controller or at least auto-aim is heavily recommended for making the sword dash attack connect consistently. Really quick inputs and sudden changes in direction to contend with otherwise
Something important for sword: we all know that when you dash strike you lose the invincibility of your dash. What’s important to also know is this only happens when you press the attack button, meaning your dash is still invincible until the moment you attack. Use this to delay your attacks slightly after dashing to make your approaches safer

Before you’re high in ||heat||, his heal and money boost are fantastic. Darkness and gems don’t hurt for farming either. He does taper off though, when you can’t heal and need more damage than he provides. Which is where Meg comes into play typically
I leave bouldy on permanently unless I have my healing taken away from me. He’s a fantastic overall run booster

you usually shouldnt be selling boons anyway, unless theyre really annoying for your build/weapon (e.g poseidon dash on fists)
theres a mirror upgrade, dark foresight, that increases your chances of seeing boons, hammers, poms and gold. Use that if you feel like you're getting few boons

If I could add to that list, Chiron is good once upgraded a few times or with the +4 special hammer, and Zeus shield is different enough that it might be worth a try if the other shield aspects aren't clicking for you.
