technically, ||there is two required dialogue. hermes comments on the plume twice, the first time simply for equipping it, the second time for equipping it while it's max leveled. both are required, as the first dialogue is a prerequisite for the second.|| but so long as you're using it, the dialogue is bound to come up. there's unfortunately nothing else you can do to make it come up because of how the dialogue system works, just keep doing runs.

Hey welcome! Bow: make sure you’re dash striking to charge up faster
Rail: bc you attack fast with low dmg, you want boons like Zeus or Dio on attack. But special is slow high dmg, so you want %dmg boons like Artemis/aphro/Poseidon etc
(Same principle with bow. Slow attack high dmg so you want %dmg attacks and special usually wants a status ability)

Provided you have keepsakes, try Zeus attack Rail. It’s a party.
Bow you can start Artemis for her attack and then special like Zeus/ares/Poseidon/Demeter Even Athena special is fine you can mass deflect.
If you get Poseidon try to put rupture on special. Again kinda treat it as a fire and forget deal on basic bow so you want some sort of ongoing dmg from it while you go back to attack

Your main button is your attack button. Your Capt. America shield throw special move is weak itself, but good as a button that can apply curses like Doom and Zeus’ bolts from afar. Again, think of it less as another “attack” and more of a utility button

Your true problem when you’re green as can be is confidence. Confidence is a mechanics issue. Practicing with one weapon can help you learn the ins and outs of one weapon, which lets you focus on the pieces of the game you actually need to learn to win

Your journey will be long in this game, everyone’s is. You will want to become proficient with every weapon, and you will. But if you find yourself struggling at first, having a weapon that is your Bedrock will help you take your eyes off of what zagreus’ swings are doing and get them onto what the Boss/room is doing, which is where they need to be to truly learn and progress as a player. All in time

I had the Daedalus upgrade that lets you shoot three specials before having to reload, but it didn't seem to help very much. I mean, I'm sure it made things a lot easier than they would have been, but the Rail itself still couldn't kill the eye of an Exalted on a full clip.

The best value buys are probably zag for shield and talos for fists. Those are the two that coexist between “best” and “cheapest” for me

The Minotaur's telegraphs are so obvious it's hard to even miss them

Having defensive boons: divine strike/divine dash for the spear throws and you can only focus on the || minotaur || then deal with other guy

In general when you’re really new and gunning for your first clear, I feel like Athena, Aphrodite, Ares and Zeus are the 4 horsemen of EZ Game EZ Life
The others all have great strengths and features, but you can mash those four ^^^ together in pretty much any configuration and come out with a build more than strong enough to get you your first clear

For a rule of thumb, it’s worth your while to invest only in purple perks at first in the mirror
Until you understand it’s intricacies better and what each perk is really there for, purple only is a good rule of thumb. There are exceptions for new players like the green money perk, but purple is generally the way to start out

Hey, just cleared the final boss for the first time so I'm still new AF! So far I've been using the bow about 90% of the time and I can't for the life of me figure out why you'd use the red diamond thingy or the special attack over just spamming regular attacks. Are there any weird mechanics or builds I've overlooked or are they just not that good?

Cast builds can be very effective yes
And combining regular attacks with your special, dash strike and other moves if you have them is just to give you more variety. You also get boon that modify all of them so they're more powerful. Spamming regular attacks can work yeah but I recommend you learn how to properly use the entire weapon

I've tried all the other attacks on the bow but tbh they just don't feel that useful, especially if I get lucky with hammers - but I'm guessing I've just been overlooking the boons for the other attacks
Somewhat related, I just unlocked aspects and I threw a ton of blood into the Zagreus aspect for the bow - the other two didn't look particularly useful. Was that a bad idea?

Somehow, I feel like that’s a total lie.
As for buying more Death Defiance, yes. But also experiment with the green version. Can’t remember what it’s called off the top of my head, but you get a single DD that revives you to 30%, but that DD resets after every single chamber. It’s fun, but definitely more challenging if a boss is kicking your butt hard.

It really depends on your playstyle. Giving that I'm usually fine in individual chambers but I facetank every boss always 👀 having 3 DDs is really good for me

Stubborn Defiance (green version of DD) is only really useful at ||high heats|| when youre using ||Lasting consequences and have to heal through your SD||

I’d suggest checking things through YT. There’s a whole bunch of guides for builds and the like there. Speedrunners talk a lot about cool builds that are pretty hilarious if you get the right god pools.

Read a little and I see it forces you to start at 5 heat in any run, so does that mean that the bounty cap being raised to 25 is only to supplement not having access to ranks "0" - 4? Or does the game still give you access to those rewards, so you get 5 more sets of bounties for each weapon?

im in the middle of this grind and having gotten enough mirror maxed and having a couple of aspects leveled a bit i find i can usually get 2-3 per run by pushing my (still low) heat, having enough money to buy a diamond/blood in styx, beating final boss and then trading with the broker and its going alot faster for me
not sure what other folks experience is, but having the mirror upgrades really let you more reliably farm
probably could do this even faster by finding and leveling one aspect that your getting better at and upping the heat on that for a while but i always am still picking what ever gives me the 20% boost to darkness and gems. also because im still just checking out alot of weapons so it gives me reason to switch

I've had a single run where i got past like the first and second boss and even got pretty far up the 3rd world, but then 90% of the time either get some BS encounter where they just take my defiance and down to miserable HP and just get roadblocked in the first boss. It's been a constant in every rogue-like i've played.... I get exhausted after going through that all the time
