Welp i just went on a short run to get a bit of darkness and advance some dialogue. Picked everything i usually wouldn't, just for the hell of it, and ended up getting my first win somehow. As it happens in roguelikes.

mine was just stacking full artemis on the bow for 5 runs straight until just managed to beat the final boss with it

Yeah i usually go with spear or fists since they added them, but this time picked the blade because it had a darkness bonus on it, then the hammer upgrade that heals 2hp on hit but reduces max hp. Got max hp back to 100+ by the time i reached the top. Didn't even have a proper dash boon or deflect that i'm used to. Picked up some crazy ||duo boon from Ares+Aphrodite|| though.

It's an accessibility option in the Options menu. If you just want to get through the game a bit faster and need a helping hand, turn it on. It gives you a flat amount of damage reduction % when you turn it on, and every time you die you get a bit more resistance. So you turn it on and take 20% less damage, die once, now it's 22% less damage, and so on.

And if you find + 1 cast from any were.
its be 4 cast every 12 seconds +pick up time. or Stygian soul 8 cast usages in same time window 12 seconds.
Infernal Soul win only in burst damage. when you use all 3 cast and room cleaned.And some specific boons dont work with Stygian Soul,or work worst.

@leaden whale you have to find the sack down one of the hallways. It will never be the first door that you pick, then it will be a random door after that. So you’ll have to do 2-5 hallways depending on luck, but you also have the option to do extra hallways if you want to finish up to all 5 and haven’t yet.

It may not unlock for a while because speech events enter a queue, and Achilles has a bunch of speech events that you'll run into for a good while.

Stubborn Defiance is more useful for super endgame

If you have Stubborn Defiance, use it up during a room and then get an Athena DD offered that DD will refill your slot and Stubborn Defiance will still regenerate for the next room, leaving you with two DDs instead of one.
That is the only other way to end up with more defiances than you started with.

A bit of a spoiler, but. If you complete a ||higher heat it'll complete the next lowest uncomplete. So say you do heat 5 once, it'll complete heat 1. Do heat 5 again it'll complete heat 2||
