all weapons are worth it, but some may seem uncomfortable to use, it depends on your style of fighting, i, for example, don't use bow or the railgun, because the damage is too low, for me it's easier to go straight into the battle rather that trying to damage someone from afar

Although, if you intend to pick up a lot of Chthonic Keys for a while anyway, then that upgrade would be better. You don't get anything from chambers you skip, anyway.

There's a rythm to it
If you do it right you should hear a distinct "swoosh" sound.
Note the timing is shorter if you dash strike.
Takes some practice to nail it down but it's worth it.

depends a lot on which aspect you're using. My personal preference is aspect of hades, which puts a lot of focus on the attack and not on the special. Divine Strike is pretty good for the damage boost and for deflections, given the spears long hitbox, or any attack boon that gives a percentage damage boost since the damage is pretty good for the spear.
If you get lucky and get the serrated edge upgrade, then hunter's dash will be top priority, which will make your dash strikes deal hella damage

for aspect of hades, i put on divine strike and deadly flourish
and do either attack or special build depending on what hammers are given to me
this is for easy access to deadly reversal, which is easy enough to do with divine spins

the problem I had with, say, Gungeon, was that each failed run barely felt like I made any meaningful progress. It felt like I was always being thrown back to square 1, which hurts in a game where a run takes over an hour
Nuclear Throne didn't have that problem because it takes like 15 minutes to reach the Throne if you survive at all
I still love Gungeon, mind, but that game's a lot more frustrating for me

In the middle of a run, if you press t he button to see your collected boons, you can select one to kind of like "pin" it

Pinning your boons doesn't do anything in the game. If you successfully "complete" a run, the end-run screen allows you to pin boons to show off (i.e. post-game screenshots), but during a run it does nothing.

For future reference, you can test out aspects by spending blood, going on a run and then giving up. You'll return to the courtyard before you spent blood... just make sure to NEVER go back into bedroom after spending blood if usin this method

The amount of different builds in this game is straight up staggering. A lot of roguelites will brag about "never having the same run twice" but still feel a bit too similar every run. Hades....I swear it feels like a different game some runs

It's slightly more likely to show up, as gods that you already have get increased chance to spawn again, independent of the keepsake. But if you get a Zeus boon with the keepsake equipped every following Zeus boon will also get the rarity boost as long as you have it equipped.

Yes but not a priority, I'd say?
They give you the option to get into ||special gates||, where you have to ||kill every enemy without being hit once||. If you manage it you get an ||empowered reward||, for things like health or money it's ||double effectivness, so 50 health or 200 obols||, for boons it's ||better rarity||. They are ||heat gated though, you need at least 5, 10, 15 heat active to enter them in Tartarus, Asphodel, Elysium respectively||.

Yes, they do show up but you won't be able to enter.
They aren't exit doors in the classical sense, they act like Chaos gates.

That one is actually very good. I think it works even without you having either Authority or Persuasion unlocked but I'm not 100% sure there.

Just got the game yesterday, and I was curious. Is it normal to only get darkness on your boss runs? I only managed to get Titan's blood 4 times before it switched and the hydra's diamond once. Haven't beat the hydra since, but whenever I encounter him, it says I'll just get darkness

after that it's darkness
same with the other boss drops
at least until you beat the final boss, and then some options open up

Personally if you're new and are still unlocking stuff it might be worthwhile to keep a stack of 10 diamonds handy. You need them for certain quests that I'm fairly certain you want to do.

I had no idea because the first time I beat Meg, I also somehow managed to beat Hydra on that run too and it started to confuse me when I stopped getting the blood etc and when I managed to reach the hydra again a 2nd + 3rd time it was with the same weapon

The position of the sack is calculated as follows: Never the first tunnel, and then equal chance of any of the remaining.
If you are lucky, you can get an elite reward and the sack at the same time.
