If you deal with Asterius on the other side of a pillar from Theseus you’ll be pretty much safe from everything he can do

QUESTION

apparently you "set" the builds you want via keepsakes.
I really like zeus's lightning attack on spear.
so i need to give zeus a nectar so I have his keepsake, then i'd equip his keepsake before i start tartarus.
ok, so where is zeus so I can give him the nectar? game doesn't explain this kind of thing anywhere. likewise with many other heroes. artemis. ares. where are they?

if you get offered a zeus boon in a run, there's a gift option (if you havent already gifted someone in that run) and that will allow you to gift nectar to him; its rng to find any of the gods in a run but once you get their keepsake you can force them to appear once in the region that you put on their keepsake

usually you don't try and be a 'jack of all trades' in a build, you usually hyperfocus on one part or playstyle of a weapon

That'll mostly come down to how you're dodging ||Hades'|| attacks

they have some sorta specific patterns, and using your dashes willy nilly can result in you getting hit more often, especially with a melee build

It isn’t exactly guaranteeing both, but this will help you hit at least one: taking exploding launcher on your first hammer locks out vicious skewer, or chain skewer, and those two both lock out exploding. Any of those three as your first hammer will improve your odds of hitting flurry jab (and triple/extending jab and serrated point) for your second hammer. Exploding is definitely the best option if you’re picking between multiple of these 3, the other 2 are both pretty meh hammers.

You need to have one or more boons from a specific list of prerequisite boons to be able to get any given legendary boon, and for duos it’ll be 2* specific lists (one for each of the two gods involved)

Nemesis can be really simple, you can start with tidal dash and just want a strike boon from artemis, athena or aphrodite. If you get artemis strike, take either aphrodite or athena special in asphodel. If you get either of the other 2 A name goddesses, just put artemis on special.

then just get hunters mark from artemis and you should be set

the duos between artemis and aphrodite/athena are really strong for a crit build

Tidal dash just gives you a buttload of damage early and a lot of flexibility

then you want double edge from hammers, and breaching slash/ piercing wave / double nova as second hammers or alternate options if you don’t find dedge first hammer

big strike and dash-strike damage from chaos go a long way

bruh why hades is too hard for me, i am no b*tch when it comes to difficult games. I've played and completed all soulsborne games and games like blasphemous and hollow knight without any problems, i enjoy playing games like these.
but why can't i complete a single run of hades, when bone hydra and Elysium is kicking my ass instantly despite having perks like divine dash from the beginning of the run.
I just don't understand, am i missing something completely in order to beat the game or i am just not good enough.

I am 7-8 hours into the game and the farthest I've gotten to Elysium's butterfly semi boss, having 2 death defiance.

Please help me, I am not a quitter when it comes to difficult games but hades is making me rethink on that.

Just cause you completed all souls games doesn't make you a pro gamer at a every game, you're good at those, but the skills from those games doesn't really translate to hades for example, totally different gameplay. Also none of the games you mentioned are roguelites. This game is hard, especially early on, where you're heavily underbalanced, compared to your enemies, you're expected to die a lot, get upgrades, and do it again. That said, you could look up some beginner guides from like haelian maybe, otherwise any specific areas you need help with? What do you think are your struggles?

For building like this it, at least for strike and special, it always comes down to the weapon (and then the aspect if/once you’ve those unlocked)

Since aphrodite has the highest raw +% for strike and special of all the goddesses she works really well on anything that has higher base damage like bow strikes or rail special etc

You can viable use aphrodite on sword strike, sword special, spear spins builds, spear special building using explosive launcher and charged skewer, zag shield strike, any shield with charged shot, any bow strike, fists special (particularly the demeter aspect), zag rail with spreadfire strike, any rail special, and hestia strike is almost exhaustive if you don’t count the hidden aspects

also im wondering, what are some general tips for getting boons? like ive noticed i got kinda far with the spear by getting lucky with a lot of buffs for the special, so i ended up just dodging and spamming special 80% of the time, but i feel like i should be focusing on other things too

like i tend to not get boons for the cast attack cuz most of them dont seem worth it, but ive had success with trippy shot cuz of the stun

The game prioritises giving you core boons (strike/flourish/shot/dash) and if any of those 4 are ever empty the game will always use the first slot rolled on a boon as one of those options

so if you want better consistency for specific core boons, taking a cast boon from like artemis, even if you don’t necessarily need them, would boost your odds of seeing a strike boon from zeus later since the odds that it offers an exchange for a cast boon are far lower than just giving you the strike boon as that option

the other thing is once you’ve taken boons from 4 non-hermes olympian gods, the game will stop giving you other gods naturally and you’re kind of locked in to those 4, which pretty much doubles your boon consistency (no, selling boons from gods won’t remove them from your god pool, it was the taking a boon from them whatsoever that added them to your god pool)

Often god keepsakes are used to guarantee 1 or 2 gods you want in a build

Spear strike is particularly useful, you just need to be dash-striking, and hopefully hit either flurry jab or serrated point(which is like a discount version of flurry jab)

this is very much the super experimental part of the game where you can scrape by wins with whatever you want so

just try to figure stuff out yourself, try to imagine what works well (like fast attacks are usually weaker so they want flat damage like lightning and doom and hangover, where big hits would rather +% from aphrodite / artemis and gang)

if you need more help you can always come ask but I would recommend doing some experimentation yourself to really get a taste of everything

Like if you have athena special and ares on your attack (for example) every time you hit an enemy with athena damage you instantly trigger doom, instead of having to wait

• what does nectar do?
• in the in-game invetory i see multiple squares with the abilities i picked up during a run. if i press A (i play on xbox) on one of them or multiples, it marks them and puts them into a list. what exactly is that for? what happens if i mark them or unmark them?
