A typical set up it to take w god keepsakes from gods you want for your build in tartarus and asphodel, and then take either a defensive keepsake (acorn or tooth) or utility (hourglass so you can take buffs from the elysium-styx midbiome room to the Hades fight, or purse ) into elysium, and then a defensive keepsake for Hades

Tooth just adds itself after your SD, and doesn’t count as one. If you’ve lost your stubborn defiance for a room and then get a dd from athena, it goes after your stubborn defiance

• final boss drops another + after that you unlock the best way to farm blood.
  other sources:
  trading for it at the lounge:
• 1 ambrosia for 1 T.blood is always there.
• 15 keys for 1 blood which is super good
• list of minor prophecies.
• Charon may sell one blood for 1200 gold at the last area shop

Adding more ||fishing after final boss can grant you a diamond/ambrosia or T.blood, on a perfect catch you are guaranteed titan blood as you either get one directly or ambrosia which can be traded into blood||

so I have 218 hours, which is pretty good and I started a new save and for the first 99 runs I threw right after the furies in the phlegethon of asphodel.
Comparing it to my main save which has 107 attempts, I am 5000 darkness short (13k/18k), have less ambrosias spent, but have more gem decoratives spent and more nectars and keepsakes leveled.

This really is a testament to how unnecessarily hard the game is. the game is easiest at the end than the start, and you can unlock most things in the game without "leaving" tartarus.
what do you need? keys? gems? nectar? all plentiful in tartarus. titan blood? 15 keys. 200 gems for 1 titan blood which then makes 20 keys.
every fury kill gives 50 darkness and every sisyphus visit gives you 50-60 darkness.

finding out that the game can be WAY easier by just rolling lvl 0 zag fists and zeus attack,
and faster too makes me feel stupid for ever trying to get far ill-prepared.

I'm not looking to talk bad about the game, I'm not looking for a change. I'm saying if you're a new player, Please don't push yourself, it'll be faster and easier with quick resets and you'll end up at roughly the same place as if you tried to win every attempt.

If you're good at the game and asphodel and elysium are easy, then go for the 1200 diamond/titan blood/ambrosia at the styx shop

Not to be rude towards your opinion but that's super lame way to play. You're essentially turning the game into a grind for resources. It takes away the fun from it and if I'm not having fun, I'd drop the game.

Also I am sure that you'd get those resources way faster if you played naturally anyway. Lernie and Theseus drop 2-3× more darkness than Meg and they also drop more gemstones if you have that upgrade. You're also locking yourself out of bounties which makes it much grindier to get titan blood, diamonds and ambrosia, which means you have to work much harder to get upgrades related to those.

but what I didn't mention is you see most of the game in tartarus anyway. you get to see and get the keepsake of ||orpheus||, you get the mention of ||persephone|| and get to track your old runs (not like it matters), but it's mainly for farming the different daedalus upgrades, god boons, and chaos upgrades for the prophesies list.

it might be boring, I certainly started getting bored once I exhausted everyone's dialogue at the 70s attempts but for run 100 I decided to go all the way, now if I choose to do more tartarus runs I have the trades and special trades for getting diamonds for upgrades like darkness -> health or nectar -> poms.

There can only be three fake bobs, so the fourth bob is always real if the first three were fake. Fake bobs have an interval of 2-5 seconds while the real bob has an interval of 1-2 seconds. After you dash there is a rather lenient window where if you attack, your attack becomes a dash-strike. This goes for all weapons. On bows specifically it can be hard to tell because of the powershot. The easiest thing to notice is that Zag holds the bow vertically and not horizontally. Also bow dash strikes reach their powershot window faster but have lower base damage, though more ways to scale it. It's very easy to notice once you practice it a bit.

Merciful End is far less consistent than Heart Rend, and while divine dash is a good defensive boon, you don’t want to end up crutching on it

They are both good builds, but any advantages ME has damage wise is mitigated by it being far less consistent to get, and defensively Heart Rend has weaken where ME has divine dash

I think they’re both similiarly effective this early in the game

An alternative build you can go for is starting with Aphro attack then going for Athena special. You dont need any duos with this but you'll have the most defense. If you're lucky enough to get either Artemis or Zeus you can go for Heartrend or Smoldering Air, both very good options.

The damage applies whenever you're dashing with the speed boost
The dash doesn't inherently give you the boost, it's the movement speed

So you need to make sure you dash right before your casts pop and deal damage

Sorry if this was explained in the game, but I'm a bit confused about how the weapons work. I use the spear, and have only used the sword on the first few runs until I got enough keys for the spear. But I've just gone back to the training room and now the sword has a bonus of 20% extra purple crystal things? I don't know how I got this as I haven't used it for ages, and I was wondering if there was any way to get this bonus on the spear instead.

Also, I keep getting told about ||titans blood|| and it seems like it can be used to improve the weapons. Could anyone explain how that works please, as I'm not sure what to do with it? Thanks, and sorry for the long post!

the darkness bonus is just random to which weapon goes

for titan blood, the ability to use it is unlocked after you get all weapons (there's 6)

I usually take on the roles that require adaptability or just adaptability in general. So I can do the complete opposite with bow (slow, precise aiming that requires distance and attention).
