It’s okay at best, aphro cast is the best cast for Hera bar none, but you really want Demeter to get Snow burst and then you want to look for Arty to put on attack

You can look thru the boons, I pretty much ended up selling every pommable one I had

since they would muck up my odds at pomming drunken strike, while not adding enough to make it worth keeping them

That’s what I mean by selling pommables that aren’t necessarily crucial (which is a solid reason to be selling)

there are times where you’d keep some less crucial pommables just because the pom scaling on your main boons either sucks, or you’ve hit the point where diminishing returns is too high on the main boons to be concerned about pomming them

I should've mentioned (and remembered!) this much earlier, but you can unlock weapon, hurt Skelly for a bit, then quit and reload to refund your Blood so long as you do not leave the courtyard before quitting out. There's also the option of going on a run straight after unlocking the weapon, then using the Give Up option to reset

I'm just realising how good zeus boons are, I put it on my special using chiron and got double strike and the legendary and managed to finish the hades bossfight in 1 minute 36 seconds which is my fastest ever

Hangover, and +% goddesses (typically just artemis and aphrodite stand out) thanks to it being an 80 base damage special and scaling that base damagr hard with it’s 2 best hammers

Nah, it does matter. You’ll want to take something that synergises with who you put on your special, ~while also working well on bow strike. For hangover builds that ends up being aphrodite on strike because low tolerance is great, and aphrodite just works great on strike.

ares has like 3 places in builds

Merciful End is a duo between him and Athena which causes things that deflect to drop doom

so you typically put him on strike, athena on special, and then athena on dash as well, so you can dash strike into everything

or he works with artemis, where you put artemis on strike or special of something (typically strike), ares on cast, and find their duo to have your blades track enemies down

that's typically for castpects

and lastly he has a niche on hangover builds where you take curse of vengeance to unlock curse of nausea and have your hangover hit faster

dionysus has about 2 builds as well

hangover: you put him on strike or special of a weapon (whichever hits faster), take aphrodite for low tolerance (so you can stack hangover 8 times instead of 5), pom hangover to high heavens. From here you can take ares and look for curse of vengeance -> nausea like aforementioned, or take zeus call and hit smouldering air, for added dps.

2. trippy flare. (Hera and Shield Hidden Aspect exclusive (I mean regular aspects can do it too but it's kinda bleh unless it's achilles))
   start with stygian soul on your mirror, take stygian, pom the crap out of it, find casts and cast damage boost from chaos, wells. I wouldn't recommend it for functionality but if you like absurdly big numbers you can highroll (luck into) them

and aphrodite is like the most versatile of this bunch by a longshot

Well you still got 2 other empty core boons, so that's less chances to get the one you want

You're just getting unlucky, for the most part, but you could tip the scales to your favor by grabbing a dash and a cast, that way you're pretty much guaranteed a special

If you mean like across the entire run the staple is like
Tart/aspho = god keepsakes to set up your build
Elysium = defensive keepsake (tooth/acorn)
And same for Styx

yes to the last part, i've been using coronacht (i know it's not technically the "best" weapon but i've gotten to the last boss multiple times with it and i don't think it's the best strat to learn a totally different weapon until i finish at least one run), and.... i've fought theseus loads of times at this point and because of hades' rng my build is almost always at least slightly different

it would be really helpful if i could remember what boons and hammers i grabbed last time i managed to get past him but i have big goober brain and unfortunately i do not

aphrodite and ares are mirror opposites for what they do for your strike. The +% from aphrodite goes a heck of a lot farther on bow strike than flat damage from ares does

not only are you dealing damage faster, you're also dealing damage safer due to not standing around in one place for long

for me it's like... 80%. even when i SEE the shot collide and his back is facing me. i have beaten him before but only a handful of times

most of my hits get blocked by a landslide even when it really looks like they got him

yeah I'm not sure. I typically have some good aoe in tidal dash, zeus call or dio call at that point so his hp is draining uber fast anyways

it's certainly safer for you to stay farther but if you want to hit his back

you'll probably be best off dashing in to hit his back

for theseus you have 2 ways of dealing with his shield
-wait for throw, dodge in whatever way you want, hit him while he retreats
-stand next to him, wait for spin attack outline to appear and dash through it, hit him while he repositions

the spin attack often leaves you at the right distance so he starts another so you can just loop him

mid phase just dash back and forth through him to dodge whatever god he called and dps his ass

most builds should leave him a few hits away from death after this, so the extra aoe from the gods will barely matter

if you have a call using it during his own phase change can be ideal for lowering his hp

or a bit more advanced but using any call gives you a small of iframes so if you are caught in a bad position you can use them as a get out of jail free

use minicalls as frequently as possible. dio and zeus call are ideal for dps, but if you’re hurting for defense, aphrodite is an easy stun to stop an attack, athena is just invulnerability and poseidon is that with some mindless damage added on (typically not more than you would be doing normally but it does depend on your build)

Even though you can’t really double dash strike on bow without flurry shot, I’d still bring greater reflex 100% of the time just cuz that second dash is so much safety

k so flat damage is going to work best on your fast hitting low base damage number hits, so ares, zeus, and dionysus (red, yellow, purple) will all do well on things like fists and rail strikes

where

+% will work way better on the harder hitting slower moves like bow strike and sword special

that's like the most basic way you can think about builds

Zeus (Lightning 🌩️ ), Athena (deflect), Hermes (Movespeed 👟 )

Hermes is special, and works closer to your Hammers
