i think it depends on weapon and play style but generally doom on the frequent hitter. if possible, add athena on dash to make sure you trigger the doom effect constantly

also if you've already beaten the final boss, consider moving to the other channels and checking out the pinned messages there, esp builds and combat channel

I was so close to defeating hades with the rail gun even though my boons choices were bad. I didn't knew but by mistake i choose one of the hamer upgrades which makes the gun special fire in straight instead of that grenade type fire

Best hammers are rocket bomb + cluster but is not a common combo

Targeting system/triple bomb are like, alright
Delta chamber is the best for defence, as it keeps your iframes on dash strikes

I'm pretty new to the game (~20-25 hrs into it) and have a blast with the shield, aspect of chaos and Ares boons. Imo it's safe to get used to the new conditions and I have no problem with limited 9 minutes per zone, em and some extra health.

Rail, Aspect of Eris and Zeus boons worked for me too, but it isn't as safe as the shield. You're closer to the action.

Both builds worked with only unlocking the Aspect at lvl 1.

the problem here is that youre relying on ares and poseidon for damage basically

zagshield REQUIRES either charged shot or pulverizing blow to work later on(with aphrodite or artemis for attack boosts)

and ares needs merciful end (typically with athena dash) to deal actual damage later on

tldr dont go me zagshield if you cant get it

but since aspects of Zagreus are cheap, it's only 5 blood to max out and you're at 15% dodge chance
and then every room you clear under Lambent Plume gives you 1% dodge chance so by the end of a run you're autododging 30%+ of attacks

like dashing is very strong for mobility but it has a cooldown

you dont want to just be standing still while your dash is on cooldown

and sometimes you want to make minor adjustments or save your dash for reacting to something
so walking is still good

the more you play the more you'll get used to moving around

Nyaanyaa's Fishing Guide
There can only be three fake bobs, so the fourth bob is always real if the first three were fake. Fake bobs have an interval of 2-5 seconds while the real bob has an interval of 1-2 seconds. So if it takes more than 2 seconds, it should be a fake bob. Meaning you should look for the real bob within a short time after you start fishing or within a short time after a previous bob.

Personally, I just look for the white flash above the bobber and ignore the bobber itself. Some players have said they have better success when putting their thumb on the bobber to not get distracted by that, so maybe you could give that a try.

A Perfect Catch means catching a fish within 340ms. Perfect Catches are 50/50 on being a legendary or rare fish. Any other catch is 50/50 on being a rare or common fish.

cast is important for some builds but for the most part it's just free "extra" damage

if you're not doing a cast build you can just fill the slot with a prerequisite for a duo boon you really want, or fill it with anything so the game has a higher chance of offering you better boons later

the game will always try to offer you a core boon (attack/special/cast/dash) if you dont have one, so by filling all your core boons you see more secondary boons that could be useful to your build

God mode is very optional so you can use it, or not, as you please. However if you're tempted to use it because you are a new payer and not feeling like you're making progress early, that's what almost everyone experiences. If you beat the final boss in fewer than 40 or 50 runs you're doing fine. If you've only done 10 runs and not got past the first boss that's normal. The game unlocks ways to make it easier through the mirror in the bedroom and weapon variations so you won't need god mode in the long run either way.

Keys are one of the most important resources early on, well keys and darkness.

Gems are good for a few things, but unlocking weapons and or the mirror should be your main goal early on.

And I think my biggest non spoiler bit of advice is to read the item and boon descriptions carefully. They are very carefully worded and there are many really powerful combinations you can unlock, but also combinations that won't work well together.

Cool, then I'd suggest mirror is a priority for a bit. But also look for an item from Achilles and keep an eye on the contractor for interesting items.

Oh one note about a particular boon description. Zeus has two types of lightning attacks, bolts and strikes. Some secondary boons only get offered when you have strike damage, some only for bolt damage. So "getting a main zeus boon" isn't enough to guarantee certain other boons will appear.

Indeed but for Zeus it's compounded by the strike/bolt distinction, which most other gods don't have.

Dionysus has a cast which doesn't create hangover damage for example, but all of Aphrodite's core boons trigger the weak effect and all of Poseidon's core boons do knock-back.

As I said this is all in the boon descriptions, so pay attention there.

And choosing some hammers will preclude others from being offered later (you should always get offered 2 hammers in a run).

I know it sounds facile, but the best thing to help beat Tony is a good build with a crap ton of quick damage. Keep a companion summon back (if you have a companion) and if you're worried about Tony, pick a call with damage and invulnerability (Poseidon/Aires perhaps). You can win by chipping away at him, but it's a slog.

Most builds don't focus around too many boons, so you generally just spread your poms towards the "core" of your build.
Rail most famous build is zeus attack, tidal dash and static discharge for example

You only focus poms on dash/discharge

Something like hangover pretty much wants all the poms you can fit into it

But going for its duos also helps

Once you get the codex upgrade to see a god's boon list it'll be easier to decide if they have something that's helpful to your run

And rarity vs poms for eury
Most stuff it doesn't matter common vs epic, and +1 to 4 boons can help if you haven't found any on your own

But usually you take refreshing nectar as it boosts chances for duos/legendaries and hermes who has lower base rarity than the rest

The Hunting Blades rarely get offered. In all my runs, it's only been offered twice. Which is weird...or is it just me?

everything gets offered a lot more once you purposefully go for it

as longs as you have the necessary means to

i perhaps only saw merciful once, but once i started playing with malphon and actually went for them i got them every second run or so

Yeah, knowing prerequisites and doing things like avoiding certain other boons or filling slots to reduce boon choice makes a big difference.

For example, if you want hunting blades, don't take anything except cast from Aeres for a core boon. That way all his doom related boons are never offered and you have much more chance of being offered hunting blades from him.

By filling other core boon slots with other gods quickly you'll eventually force him to mostly only offer rift related upgrades.

It doesn't guarantee it, but it makes it much more likely.

So if going for hunting blades, start with Artemis in Tartarus to fill as much as possible without taking a cast. Then take Aeres in Asphodel, taking only the cast, which will almost certainly be offered first time you see him.

Once core boons are full, take Aeres every time you can.

Obviously if you have boon rerolling unlocked (final mirror talent) this is much more reliable.

I've been trying to get Hunting Blades a few times, did my best not to fill up any slots and made sure I got the required boons. Somehow it just doesn't get offered.

That won't work, duos/legendary are rolled separately first

So just don't open any other ares duos

You can still avoid other unwanted duos though.

I just did a quick run with exactly that approach and got hunting blades, black metal, mirage shot, viscous cycle.

Don't have a link but there's a base 10% chance for each boon offer if available

20% with legacy

So opening up another duo almost halves your chance of getting your target duo

10% is in minibosses

(2) if an exchange is possible, 10% chance to add an exchange to one free slot,
(3) if 2 fails and there are free priority slots, add one priority boon to one slot,
(4) 50% chance to add a tier 2 status curse (i.e., Jolted, Marked, Rupture, or Exposed) to one slot if boon requirements are met,
(5) roll for legendary/duo for each remaining slot,
(6) roll for epic for each remaining slot,
(7) roll for rare for each remaining slot,
(8) fill all remaining slots with common,
(9) fill all remaining slots with whatever is available.

The bow is a great weapon, I think your issue lay more with how you build it and how you play it

Also the special can clear projectiles sometimes but it's pretty bad for dealing damage

Power shot takes forever to charge without dash

I wouldn't, it's very play style dependent.

Fully upgraded, Hestia rail is a beast, but some is the hidden shield aspect.

After you beat final boss you can get more

Though doing first boss with each weapon will give blood first time around

So you've got access to 6 titan blood minus what you spent

And you can occasionally trade for one but it's not worth it usually.
