Better off avoiding it tbh. The Duo Boon is one of the best builds for carrying a run, and Divine Dash will open a different Duo Boon with ||Lady Demeter||, which will hurt your chances of getting the Duo you actually want a lot.

Start with that and pom it as much as possible, you should be one shotting every enemy in the game. Force ||Demeter|| in asphodel and try to get Snow Burst, a high rarity attack or ravenous will are also good picks. For hammers Flurry is good but takes practice, Twin Triple always good picks and Perfect Point-blank are good if you don’t like Flurry. For Hermes Quick Reload will solve your bossing problem because casts will drop faster, if not offered look for hyper sprint + rd, if not offered just take any mobility

Sounds like you're overcharging your shots.
Lean towards undershooting. It's enough if your arrow just barely reaches or sometimes doesn't reach at all because your Casts will reach beyond that.
Or maybe your release timing was off and you just barely missed your shot.
Gotta keep in mind the auto-aim doesn't lead the target.

I am pretty sure the hitbox of Crush Shot is a cone with a bit of a dead zone at the center of origin. And I am pretty sure that Blown Kiss stretches the hitbox of your Cast, which increases its range but also the dead zone. So you need to undershoot your arrows a bit more. It's a problem with Flurry Shot because you can't undershoot with it, but otherwise it's fine.
My theory could be wrong, but my solution works.
Undershooting also helps with getting the first hit with your Cast instead of your Attack in order to get that extra first-hit damage on your Cast from Blown Kiss.
So that's nice.

That's about it, Fists require flat damage in order to have good dps so Ares Zeus Dio are the go tos
The other supporting gods you get can lead to different and diverse builds but it's somewhat the same concept
If you want to switch it up a bit you can try to get Heavy Knuckle and use a % attack instead like Artemis or Aphro but it's not as great of a build
And if you have Demeter Fists you can try for Explosive Upper and put more focus on your Special

Most effective use of your Special on Talos is actually to press Dash immediately after you press Special. What should happen is that you see a brief purple flash when Zag pulls in the enemy, and then he immediately cancels into a Dash. So you inflict the debuff and completely skip the slow Uppercut part.

If you have Tidal Dash and you do that, what will happen is you pull your enemy and dash behind them, and at the end of your dash Tidal Dash procs and knocks them away... and they'll have all of the momentum of the pull + knockback from Tidal Dash and fly way behind you.
Also not the most effective Talos build, but very entertaining.

When they added the other side of the mirror, I was one of the first high level players to swap to Persuasion and never look back. There was some resistance against swapping at first, with the same arguments you made + some others, but literally 100% of the high level players swapped to Persuasion full-time within just a couple months.
Because everyone who used Persuasion was getting better results more consistently.
That's the reality of it.
And that was when Authority still had 10 rolls instead of 8.
Wasn't enough to hold a candle to Persuasion, unfortunately.

Yeah. Empty dashes are invincible for the full duration. Greatest Reflex gives you more dashes.
And more mobility, which is huge for DPS.

I’m on switch and I did a dumb Artemis build with some Poseidon, ares and Aphrodite. I had fists and also deflect attack so I just held down attack and dashed every once in a while

fauth is only really good (aside from boonless/high poms where it's optimal) for choosing which god you want in your pool
and at that point, there are keepsakes for that
it's much better to be able to reroll to get the right boon for your build (e.g. jolted, merciful end, tidal dash, boons that make or break a build) than to optimize which gods you're already going to find

Eris is also really strong and can be used at a lower level
Zag gun is good if you can get spread fire early, but otherwise you'd just play it as bad eris
Eris is pretty button smashy, hestia (optimally) is calculated button smashing but you could get away with just only hitting reload and attack over and over again
