It depends on the weapon, there is no single best and with a lot of weapons you're not gonna be strictly relying on 1 of those. You can easily have a strong attack and special and implement both in your rotation effectively

it took me a few tries but i found what worked for me was to target asterius first, who should be easy enough cause he gives you a lot of time to dash out of the way, dragging him away from theseus so that the only thing theseus cna do to you is throw his spear, which you are given time to hide for, and then when it's theseus time bashing his head in till he targets you with spear and then hiding

how do you play achilles
Achilles’ buff applies to next 4 attacks/casts. In terms of hammers there is a really strong one called Flurry Jab which will make you attack very fast. Ideally you want that if you’re leaning more into an attack based build, Artemis attack is strong because the crits scale well with the aspect buff, and Zeus attack is also solid but needs more Zeus stuff like Static Discharge and maybe a good offensive aid like Dio or Zeus. Alongside those you can try to pick up a cast along the way. Phalanx has nice synergy with Zeus if he’s in your pool because it opens Lightning Phalanx, Slicing Shot or Crystal Beam are both strong with Artemis in the pool due to Hunting blades and Crystal Clarity becoming open. You can mix and match between these you don’t need the duos but they’re nice. Achilles can make any cast work so things like Crush shot and electric shot are also solid picks. The usual start on Achilles is Tidal dash to help cleanup things in Tart and you can improvise from there due to the versatility of the weapon. If no Flurry Jab is offered on your hammer you can take Serrated point, it’s a good damage increase but has a noticeable penalty that you’ll have to play around. Worth noting that if you have Flurry Jab from your first hammer do not pick Serrated from your second as it’ll make it worse. Flurry already does more dash strikes than Serrated provides. However if you have Serrated first and get offered Flurry second, take it and hope for an anvil to get rid of one of them. Other hammers aren’t great, avoid spin hammers because they block Flurry. Your general rotation is gonna be minimum range Special -> Raging Rush (trying to get the buff as fast as possible) -> dash strike as many times as you have dashes and repeat. Throw in a cast here and there on beefier enemies, it’ll mostly be your boss shredder or your room cleanup when you don’t have Flurry. Try to keep an eye on your dash and make sure you’re using it well.

Generally speaking you almost always have 1 or 2 main gods that you want a lot of stuff from and they can skyrocket your damage and you have other supporting gods. Dio is one of those supporting gods that you don’t really want a lot of his stuff even if he’s the main source of your damage, but he provides good stuff on the side

First Lord Hermes boon can only show up in shops in Tartarus, can't show up naturally until Asphodel. Only if you enter a Chaos Gate in chamber 13 right before the shop can he show up naturally in the non-shop chamber before the boss.
