first of all, ||heat|| should be spoilered here. secondly, you don't finish the main story until 10 clears, but even then there's probably still a lot of other story lines to find and complete

depends on the weapon. if it's a weapon that has a low base damage like fists attacks, then any sort of flat damage is worth putting on it

and most importantly it's a buff in the class of "global damage" which means it affects literally every bit of damage you deal minus companions

including stuff like zeus lightning, casts, ares doom, dionysus hangover etc

Special > hold Attack and mash Dash pretty much > Special again the moment you're reloading (you can use Special while you're reloading) > etc.

Lightning Strike on Attack, then get Tidal Dash and put some poms on that.

And get Static Discharge from Lord Zeus as well, 2-3 poms on that ideally.

Then just look for any decent % Special boon.

You can just play hyper aggressive dashing right into the enemies (and into your Special that you fired at them), your Lightning Strike and Tidal Dash will just take care of everything.

Of course when it's only +15%, it's not gonna be quite as strong as when it's +75 at max level.

But the strategy still works pretty much because the Lightning Strike + Tidal Dash combo is so strong.

And there are very powerful hammers for your Special.

Beat the first boss once with each weapon for your first 5, then beat the final boss once with each weapon for your next 5, then start adding ||1 heat per weapon|| (post-FinBoss) and rinse and repeat. If it starts getting too hard then pick your favorite weapon and really work on getting up to 8-16 heat with that one and focus on upgrading that one the most.
If you make it to asphodel or even elysium with each weapon you can get diamonds and ambrosia which can be exchanged for more titan blood with the broker. I forget what exchanges for what.

Normally, at least in the meta, you use one god keepsake in Tartarus, another god keepsake in Asphodel, and then either a defensive keepsake like Acorn or an offensive keepsake like the Bone Hourglass for the rest of the run.

Well, Bone Hourglass also has some healing use, but typically it's used to buy the bonus damage items from the Wells.

Long-term, any and all practice you do now will benefit you, so you can't really go wrong either way.

stygian is generally not worth taking imo because the only thing you benefit from it is if you take plume into asphodel and hermes gives you Bad News, which is bugged to be a 50% global damage buff
and if you happen to get Demeter in your god pool, ravenous will is a pretty good boon that requires you to be at 0 casts to work

it's not worth taking if you're not doing a cast based build that needs stygian

I think Stygian Soul is pretty good for new players just for applying Boiling Blood without having to worry about picking up bloodstones.

There's already enough things to worry about for timing and positioning without adding to it.

And new players tend to not make strong use of Infernal Soul anyway. At most they might (occasionally) remember to apply Boiling Blood to big enemies.
