i couldnt find any instance of calling zag by name
always refers to him as “short one”
In Zag's defense, Asterius is taller than most characters in the game.
In fact, Zag even points out that he is about the same height as Theseus, yet Asterius never calls him "short one"
theseus stands on the chariot just to feel tall
just got the real ending and damn its wholesome
I laughed at this more than I should have, but to my credit, it's probably true
Are you also in the Theseus hate club
because I am
The guy is annoying
||unlock at least 5 other aspects, and fight Hades at least once (outcome is irrelevant) does this need to be done with the spear, or any weapon?||
Don't think weapon matters
any weapon works
I hate him, but he's also funny, so I just laugh at his face
Especially when in his phase 2 of EM3. This man is the literal embodiment of drama
He's the guy ppl laugh at, instead of laugh with
He is
a douchebag
I cannot take that guy seriously
I doubt anyone takes him seriously lol
Even Achilles laughs at him
who isnt tbh
Theseus kind of just reminds me of a wrestling heel
I don hate him too much but he's really annoying when he blocks everything
asterius
You have to upload them somewhere and link them here
another discord server, imgur etc
whenever i press the plus is says use slash command
Yea because you cant directly send from there since attachments are disabled, if you’re on pc right click the pic then choose copy link, if you’re on phone just press and hold then choose the same thing
And paste the link here, Discord will embed it

dam just found out hades is pretty accurate to greek mythology
They try to be! Compared to most pop culture depictions of Greek mythology, Hades is pretty close! Of course, "Greek mythology" in of itself is hard to collectively describe. For one thing, Greece as we know it today was not what it was back then: Athens and Sparta for instance are what we would consider today to be city-states. In other words, the whole archipelago consisted of a wide variety of cultures and governments, which leads to a wide variety of religions. There isn't really a central "church," so to speak. Sure, there were a lot of similarities as a whole, but there were so many regional differences as well (and that applies to modern religions too).
It's why I personally as an anthropology and mythology nerd get annoyed when people say pop culture depictions of mythology and religion are not accurate: of course not!!! Accuracy doesn't matter in the context of these stories: that's what retellings are! And so many retellings have proven to be extremely popular: some good examples in terms of Greek mythology include the musical Hadestown and Madeline Miller's The Song of Achilles and Circe. Just because something is inaccurate to its original source material, doesn't discredit its originality: a lot of literature, and I can and will include fanfiction, is amazing even though it deviates a lot from the original source.
Anywho, I rambled, but overall, I do agree with the original statement: I just wanted to talk about something that I care about, hehehe
good post
basically the concept of "accuracy" in mythology only matters within the context of who you are trying to be accurate to, as they were numerous poets, writers, etc that contributed to the works that we see as mythology today, as we take all sorts of things from the likes of ovid, aeschylus, homer, the list goes on. so like. accuracy as a singular set of overarching adaptations or whatever doesn't exist
thats why mythos has survived so long as a popular topic though, and why things such as hades can exist
I realized something. Zagreus could have saved a ton of runs if you wrote a letter to persephone containing his questions and delivered it, since she could read and reply to them long after Zagreus is taken back by the styx.
Yea Hades is also a lot more wholesome than Greek myth but maybe that can be explained by they treating their fellow immortal god rather than mortals 🧐
I guess we kinda see it since in Codex, Achilles criticizes them whilst they nothing but helpful to Zag
achilles has some reasons for beef to be fair
Not to mention that there is not much known about Zagreus in Greek mythology, at least from what we know: it is most likely that how Zagreus was seen among Ancient Greeks has been lost to time. That said, it is fortunate for the writers of Hades, as they can shape Zagreus into a more fleshed out character without being constricted by any possibly known mythos (which is actually why Zag was chosen to be the protagonist instead of Theseus, who was chosen when the game was to be called Minos).
On that note, I still find it absolutely funny that we still have no idea if Homer existed or not.
smh we coulda had an asterius romance all this time....
God, what I would give to at least give him nectar and ambrosia
I have enjoyed reading this information from people who know way more about history than me
writing fic about him today in order to appease the desire to give him Stuff
side note, hadestown as an adaption is
i L O V E hadestown oh my god i got to see it a bit ago and im@still flooored
orpheus in hades heavily reminds me of hadestown orpheus, especially damons version
A lot of mortals and demigods have reason for beef 💀
Hades hasn't screwed too many people over in that regards
i remembered why I hate Theseus so much
i mean, even more
in mythology he and his pal tried to kidnap Persephone
wish I could permanently kill that man 😔
Bruuuuuuuh, we just purchased tickets for the tour: I am so hyped.
and then theres asterius, whose reason for beef is that he is beef
i think dionysus generally gets rights, because most of his interactions with mortals that i can remember were 'here i invented a dildo for you' and 'whats up ariadne—bro he did what???? come crash at my place for a while. maybe forever' and 'hell yes lets kill that guy who sucked, its run wild in the woods eating people time, lets go lesbians'
dio is an icon
I played through most of the game thinking that Zag and Than's dynamic was that they were brothers repairing their relationship. Then AFTER a certain point I felt like one of those historians that would be like, "Achilles was just REALLY good friends with Patroclus" and felt like a fool
pfffffffff
historian: look, in the than and zag bedroom scene it cuts to black, so OBVIOUSLY they were just laughing while playing uno
The game board is there FOR A REASON
Than was showing him the proper form to lift weights
of course
funniest part is the idea that than lifts
mans oan the protein
He probably can telekinetically lift
How did you guys feel about side stories compared to main story in Hades?
Which side story was most interesting to you?
Which ones did you skip dialogues for, if any?
I like the side stories with all the characters
They make Hades diff from other roguelikes
I think i skipped most of dusa
cos like things change as you do your runs rather than resetting to the beginning
It was more his pal's idea though
Theseus did screw over Ariadne though for no good reason
i dont wanna keep talking to orpheus
hes so whiny
sad little man
true, he kidnapped helen though
I can see that 🙂
Well he's pretty sad he screwed up
i like most of them, but also I agree w Percy
Well being so close and all makes him for into depression
i feel like at least one of the writers Really wanted to get back with their ex ngl
once you complete the quest though he gets a lot better
Well it's not even they exes in mythos though
see: zag+meg, hades+persephone, orpheus+euridice, achilles+patroclus
theres a Common Theme
And his portrayal is to show how orpheus gets better
romancing than + the Achilles and pat quests are my favorite
Hmmmm interesting 👀
aside from zag and meg, those all have myth precedents (except maybe the separation of Achilles and pat)
Having Eurydice blame Orpheus for her predictament is a unique take to it.
can you tell I don’t remember how to spell Patroclus?
Since well the only chance she had of coming back to life was Orpheus in the first place
true, I love Eurydice though

this is a weird take bc barring zag and meg these are all literally relationships pulled from mythos with a modern adaptation. there's nothing wrong with reimagining what were turbulent relations as something with a kinder message and emphasis on repairing misunderstandings
boiling that down to "someone really wanted to get back with their ex" is incredibly weird imo
oh its a theme i really like, to be clear; i think its well written in how the motifs of repairing relationships and mistakes reinforce each other between all the stories. i dont necessarily literally believe that there's An Ex out there, but i am pretty certain that those stories were chosen on purpose from range of the mythos for a reason, if that makes sense?
definitely debatable, orpheus and eurydice is one of the most popular/well known underworld myths, as is hades and persephone. i think they were chosen because the main theme of the game seems to be (I haven’t gotten to the epilogue yet) repairing broken relationships, whether platonic, familial, or romantic
Anyone else gettiing poly vibes out of Nyx, Hades and Persephone
Aww pretty heartwarming how Hades tells Than not to overexert himself
h e l l o
where else does Zag get his poly bi genes from
I hate how my first thought was "YOU HAVE UNO IT COMES FREE ON YOUR XBOX"
definitely something than would say to zag
Pffft, you're right
Hmmm good point
Nyx casually raising Persephone's son... they must be good roommates 😔
lksajf;ds Persephone literally teases her about it in one of their convos
esp considering the contrast with Nyx's relatively hands-off method with all her other kids
wish the game included more of Nyx's kids, would love to see Hemera (incarnate of day, basically she and Nyx swap shifts to stay in tartarus and outside)
and they were roommates
@ashen oyster ne? you never saw that line?
I shall rectify that
(left -> right, top -> down)
gasp! a nectar in the lounge.... good friends indeed.
true besties
gal pals, if you will
Historians refer to them as "best friends"
(Ironically enough, there is also the historical term of "romantic friendships")
if I ease off thanatos, I'll still be able to get his chibi art for his keepsake right?
Yup
I hope it’s not just me, but Theseus’s laugh when he’s riding the chariot is just outright a little insane.
Nope definitely not just you.
is hell mode just there for ppl who wanna create a new save but dont want it to be too ez?
Also if you want to do high heat (like 40 and above) and want the alternate pact option
Which does kind of mark you out as a bit of a masochist tbh.
If you practice enough it’s not that bad
just noticeced that demeter has dialogue when her legendary executes hades
She has lines for the previous bosses too
I heard that you can romance a few characters, which are they?
meg, than, dusa
some stories interfere with one another so dont halt all your relationships to focus one person in case theres a pending story that needs to be finished first
when do weapons become bloodthirsty
just realized the numbers on Chaos' boon list changes as you scroll
How does Hades make all the money he has
Since it seems that Charon hoards all of the wealth from the people crossing the river
Plutus is the god of wealth?
Well the Earth is his by birth right so ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Him also being the god of wealth isn't that far fetched
Also I was really surprised about the real Lore behind Dusa being a floating head
I thought they just did it for the sake of it
But no
Also Dusa is a maid
Maid Dusa
Hehe
guys can we pummel charon? coz he whooped my ass
yes
It is just that he has secret boss plot armor
And just hits like a freight train
ohh ok thanks
So other than Pluto being Roman, Charon's money obsession in the game is a direct reference to Ancient Greek burial rights: when a person is buried, a coin is put in their mouth because they will need it to use as payment for Charon to carry them across the river Styx into the Underworld!
WAIT, THERE'S A COIN ON HIS TONGUE?!
Wow, I didn't even notice
That's such a good detail
Supergiant strikes again
right after you beat hades and logan is doing his monologue the skulls there also have obol on their tongues
Oh my god that's so cool
I saw someone put it like, Hades' currency is gems, Charon's is obols
Someone on Twitter made a tweet asking what the exchange rate is between gems and obols and it's been bothering me ever since lol
well Charon sells some gems for 75 obols base price, forgot the amount though
I actually really like the economic side of the Hades plot.
Hades makes money because he owns more real estate than any other God, including all minerals and gems.
This is where his connection to Demeter comes in. What does she own and how does it intersect with Hades?
These gods have property rights after all
But at the same time we do know there is intersection
The rivers of the underworld are a grey area
It would make sense that Demeter owns the living soil, I believe.
The topsoil and what is immediately below it
The crops that grow from it too
That is her wealth, humans just have to extract it. Regardless in this system, with regular offerings of produce and goods, Hades is the end source of all wealth in the end.
This also has to do with burial practices. Being buried in urns with some worldly possessions like gems and gold.
These things return to Hades in death even if they are extracted.
And Zagreus helps in the game. He finds all the assorted pockets of wealth lying around the underworld and centralizes it under Charon and Hades.
What does Charon gain from Zagreus? Someone to pick up missing obols. Charon only really wants to hoard.
Zagreus rarely gets any permanent gain from spending obols. Sometimes Darkness or Gems, sometimes Ambrosia/Diamond/Blood
It all returns to Charon.
that's so cool! This game has so much attention to detail and respects the source material very well, but also knows when to change something or modernize it. I'm sad I didn't play it sooner!
Hades does a good job at this, and honestly, I find that the best retelling of myths are not necessarily the most accurate ones, but ones that revitalize interest in said myths by modernizing. (Disney's Hercules is a good example: very inaccurate portrayal of mythos, but has some of the most iconic characters and songs in all of Disney)
True
So like lore Olympus and it's modern retelling of the story?
Ye
That was kinda low
Even for Hollywood
He is probably the best God according to today's standards
Yeah lol
75 obol for 20 gems, affected by CF and Darker Thirst
Especially when compared to Zeus
I don't think the Greek pantheon has a family tree
It's probably better that way lmao
ಠ_ಠ
@zinc belfry there ya go
but also Charon is most likely skewing it to his favor
of course Charon is skewing it in his favor
Love our funky smoky skeleton sailor boi
I'm honestly not surprised: it's been an age old tradition to turn Hades into a villain, even before Hollywood. iirc, during the Christianization of the Roman Empire, they sort of equated Hades and the Underworld to the Devil and Hell, which, if you think about it, is not too far off: both are feared, albeit in different ways. Even back then, saying "Hades" out loud is something to be avoided.
unfortunately the original greek pantheon family tree is a bit of a straight line
which is why i'm very glad most modernizations (hades, lore olympus, etc) have been changing it
But that was more out of a respectful fear
If anything the villain in greek mythology was usually Ares
popular media says when you need a quick villain for your greek myth inspired media, look to hades or ares because OBVIOUSLY they're bad awful villains. which. no. not even. besides the fact trying to separate "good" gods from "bad" gods is not remotely the point in mythos bc that concept doesn't exist. all gods did things that were good and bad. but anyway hades not falling into that was good
Except for sparta
Athens didn't like him but he was not a villain
he was often made out to be weak and essentially a joke, barely scratch him and he takes off running to zeus
that's not villain behaviour
That's because there wasn't really a villain in greek mythology
he's also villainized for being war, because no one likes war.
There were villains in certain myths but there wasn't a bad guy for the whole pantheon
i don't want to stray too deep into mythology talk because that goes in #off-topic-discussion supergiant understood that there was no strict black or white to gods and i appreciated that a lot
I agree
hopefully as popular as the game got, it inspires future mythos content to flesh out their interpretations of gods more beyond the same tired tropes
All gods are basically monsters tbh
Like that's part of the game. Except its allegory for family reunions and holidays and having a family at all being horrible sometimes
You have a bunch of uncles who are unable to self reflect really
One who is cool but in a creepy way (Ares)
Like he collects knives
Lizards
Well Ares is a cousin but an older one
Ares is your cousin
Yeah
Same deal though. A weird relative you dont really know.
Even Artemis has outbursts
In terms of gods, relatively minor ones like Zagreus are the few that are morally aligned to humans really
Especially his Promethean role
Underworld gods in general dont bother humans too
Well Ares was certainly not much liked
And I don remember him doing much good at all for people
Hes depicted as cowardly and nobody really likes him in the Illiad
pretty much as villainous as it got
Zeus even says he hates him
Unless by villain you mean as overarching antagonist
But as far as negative human traits go, Ares pretty much the worst
Apollo, Hades or Demeter get my vote for starting least amount of petty conflicts
Or Hephaestus too
Honestly Artemis was responsible for quite a bit of bad things
i’d say apollo caused some conflict
i with thanathos summon was named antony
Tony is tiny vermin's name
Tiny Tony
Lady Aphrodite never did anything bad.

need I mention psyche
What about her?
Happy valentine's day, people! In celebration, let's take a look at a tale as old as time - Eros and Psyche!
This myth has been adapted in a million different ways, and the structure recurs in folklore all over the world - boy meets girl, boy loses girl, girl has to undergo X taxing trials to earn the hand of boy, girl gets boy. Oftentimes, the...
I know her story, yes. So what about her?
She is probably the only person that Aphrodite has "directly" done something bad to
Sorry to interupt but mmmm OSP is great
Yes
osp is comfort content creator
How the hell do I max out my affinity with Zeus?
can i go absolutely bonkers yonkers about the evolution of the minotaur myth for a moment please
because i was trying to write fic about asterius and i got lost on the minotaur mythology wikipedia page and i went down a rabbit hole and now i have worms in my brain about this
so this is a simplification of the extremely complicated and uncertain status of pre-written myth But here we go
extremely early crete has a bull god of light which is associated with a concentric circle pattern ie the sun, it is suggested that a priest wearing a bull mask or horns is involved in ceremonies, giving rise to, at some point, the image of a bull-man combo, sometimes centaur-shape and sometimes bull-head-man-body as associated with religion and power on crete;
when mainland(?) greek religion/pantheon with its pre-existing sun gods arrives on crete the bull god is syncretised as specifically a god of stars and possibly given the name asterion (aster -> astra) but also linked to the mythologised king minos;
the concentric circle pattern is combined with radiating lines (starburst-ish) and stylised to form a pattern similar to the labyrinth idea, also linked to the idea of the endless dancing-halls of ariadne; geological activity increases in minoan crete and social interest in the underworld increases in turn; the bull-man image is associated specifically with the role of the priest who performs sacrifices;
minoan crete becomes ascendant and extremely wealthy in the peninsula and demands tribute from athens, including ritualised hostage-taking; we don't know if human sacrifice was ever involved;
crete cannibalises its surroundings until they are exhausted and athens becomes ascendant, which means it tells the stories about crete; the story it tells features athenian youth being eaten alive by the bull-man who is defeated at last by a brave athenian who pushes athens to glory;
the god of light is pushed underground; the cannibal state is narrowed to a cannibal god who becomes a cannibal monster;
thousands of years later, the carbide headlamp is invented for caving and mining, which throws up a crescent of fire on the forehead, sort of like horns
that’s so cool
There is a Heavenly Bull in the Epic of Gilgamesh too
I have my own like anthropological theory about Cretan bull sacrifice. So they did it in their past, but moved onto smashing ceramic representations of bulls
It's a shift in understanding of material surroundings and wealth that occurs with urbanization.
Specifically the production of a central economic organ
The minotaur myth is interesting because it's obviously the result of many story telling mutations
To the point where it theorized a mutant monster of sorts
zooms in
We talking about mythology
Like I know Theseus stories are often about claiming territory for urbanization, and fighting off competing mobs/state leaders
So what does the minotaur represent in that sense
What real life enemy mutated into the Minotaur?
God, one of my favorite things about mythology is that it's a great case study of cultural exchange in real time. It's a large game of messed up telephone, and it's amazing because different stories change are shaped to fit in the culture. It's why there is not really anything that is tied to a specific culture unless that culture is completely isolated. Not to mention how even then, there seems to be a lot of common archetypes in myths and stories around the world. My personal favorite is the constant presence of a trickster character.
Tag yourself, I am coyote
...persephone just said she 'always fancied thanatos'?????
girl????? you are married?????? you cannot tell your son you fancy his boyfriend!!!!
yo so i got a question, so im trying to romance mag. and i gave her the 6 necters, and she did come to my room but i accidently skipped all the dialogue, is that the favor thing, cuz idk what the favor is
There are a couple times she goes to Zagreus's room, the second time will be the favour
way less expensive than other folks' favours
dusa wants fifteen thousand gems but meg is like lemme chill here and then u can give me ambrosia
@languid temple funny you said that as the convo happened before lol
yeah i think its supposed to mean that but i agree with hagbard that i cant read it as anything other than.... fancying
i think it’s one of those cases like with the word queer today, where we see it and are like “WHAT? HISTORIANS CMERE” but they just meant weird (unfortunately, otherwise we’d have a lot more queer rep)
Uhhh Pasiphae
Hippolytus as well
Though Aphrodite also has probably the most wholesome story with Galatea
Which one are you thinking of? I remember he was chasing after a Nymph causing her to become a tree but that was mostly Eros's fault.
Sharing is caring
Daphne?
context also matters and considering the context reading it as romantic fancying simply does not make any sense for all the reasons everyone is incredulous at it
Yep thas her
im in the like, 4th clear now, but there is a reason persephone cant... you know, get closer to the gates so zagreus can last more than a few minutes outside? i suppose is done like that to make the several runs i suppose is going to take makes sense
thats where she lives
cant rly spend all her time at the gates of underworld when she dont know when zag coming
the timeline is intentionally vague - it could be persephone sees zag every twenty years or every half hour
we don't know
thousand year winters aren't a new thing in old-school mythology stories
well true, we dont really know how much each revive cycle takes, it could be instant or take weeks or yeahs tbh
there's a few postgame screens where the narrator outright says he dies of old age
this time
so maybe he sees his dad every twenty years too
how many clears i need to do to see the whole story?
10 for credits, then like
however many it takes to get epilogue
probably like 30-40 to get most of the prophecies done
I think those are when he hits his timer death before some other incident gets him, there's even an ending that says he managed to get some stuff done at the cottage
And judging by Persephone's post epilogue schedule, it's like ~6 runs = half a year
this makes sense
Also, they mention a war. Specially Ares and Than. Greeks at that time were at war for numerous reasons
there were a lot of wars - any speculation as to which one? @frozen bay
i guess it's like once the story ends and it's the status quo zag's escapes are the months
could be a cool way to headcanon it
I mean, considering that Achilles is there, maybe sometime after the Trojan War?
I'm horrible with history lol. Always focused on the myths instead of the facts
😅.
the next war after the trojan chronologically is the Dorian invasion
Oh, ok. Going to research that
The Dorian invasion is a concept devised by historians of Ancient Greece to explain the replacement of pre-classical dialects and traditions in southern Greece by the ones that prevailed in Classical Greece. The latter were named "Dorian" by the ancient Greek writers, after the Dorians, the historical population that spoke them.
Greek legend ass...
TLDR: not sure if it was people or just a cultural shift
its real weird
lemme finish the article first
Ok

too many words, watching it instead
Lol thanks! My nerd lore spirit is fulfilled
i normally dont go this deep into random rabbit holes, but when i do im always glad i did
😅 same
One thing that got at first sight was Meg
The connection with the Disney animation just ringed
Of course that those are different "Megs" , but it explains a LOT the connection with Hades (the god)
Haha Meg dresses up as a normie to help hades
Disney hades is a cartoon bad guy but still, love that movie lol
Def took a while to adjust to the game’s canon that while hades is a bit prickly and cold he isn’t a villain
At least in the traditional sense
Oh, those gifs of him totally angry 🤣
Yes!!!!! I mean, of course that at some point he's a bad guy bc his decisions aren't all "oh OK, I'm a good god, so I'll just bless you"
Yeah the Dorian invasion is a weirdly conceived of theory. Same with the Sea People
Sea People were probably unpaid mercenaries probably
Soldiers
But domestic ones
Attacking because they werent being paid for their work
Maybe more like pirates. But like hired pirates.
Instead of placing blame on some imagined other party, it places blame on the nation-state/city-state/whatever else and their economic issues.
In that sense, it is a more solid theory. It doesnt just theorize an invasion that happened.
I think lots of historians would also critique the idea of an invasion. Usually these are more grounded attacks, rather than senseless attacks.
So these were still invasions, but it's their own undoing.
Is this about the bronze age collapse?
Maybe the Peloponesion war?
Athens and Sparta were fighting
It is long after Troy though
Does cerberus have a reason to only like one of his heads getting pet?
dogs have personal preferences basically
What is in the satyr sack that Cerberus likes?
Satyrs? I have no idea.
vermin
https://imgur.com/v20Omxz 5 minutes after i saw you ask that this showed up
Interesting. Okay
Well, bits of vermin at least.
yeah, it's real odd - like, we can't even tell definitievely if they were real people
Well, they weren't fake people if they were at all.
Hey, today I was completing duo boons prophecies and ran on the Demeter ones. Her motivations are so beautiful!
Of course, no one wants a clingy mother, but the way she cares and worries literally reflects on the seasons
Her lines after completing the main story are amazing
need to try Demeter more
but idk seems like gotta do cast build to get most out of her
Rama and her special kinda works too if you get everything lol
Ice beam Arctic Blast Lucifer
With triple and eternal
Killing freeze is really good on Rama. Winter's Harvest is neat at least
It's technically a good damage increase
I bet you could make other hammers with with ice beam tbh
how do i get more things on my mirror of night?
Oh ok
My nad
The game scared me
I just got out of elysium
I thought I had to kill cerberus
I was boutta cry
unlock with cthonic keys
that question goes in #h1-for-new-players though i think?
mood, that was also my reaction, i was like NOT THE GOODEST BOY
fighting cerberus would definitely be very tough
Bruh, I would quit playing than have to fight Cerby ;-;
I had those exact thoughts
I just got past styx
I like how I just have to give cerberus a good treat
Cerberus perished ( Not Really)
Lmao, the game loves to remind you about how you "defeat" Cerberus
Yeah, most people get kicked in the butt by dad ;-;
Nah, you're good lol
just gotta keep talking to asterius
Alright
die a few times to asterius and die a few times to theseus and hope rng likes you
you do have to talk to asterius in the mini boss encounter to get it but remember most dialogue you get from hypnos involves you dying, and you DO have to die multiple times to both asterius and theseus to get it
Yeah i was never 100% on whether you have to die for that. It's annoying because on my latest save I have an 80 steak I don't want to break
We never learn who hired skelly right?
yeah i get some people dont like it because they have streaks going or something but unfortunately that is just how hypnos is set up. he asks about the autograph while remarking on the fact you died to asterius or theseus, if you never die to them the autograph convo will never have a chance to come up
Sucks to be Hypnos then
its just an easter egg more than anything so you're not missing any quest progression
wtf i was beating this fat bull and he left lmfao
asterius? he comes back in the final room
asterius is like 'bro wanna spar' and zagreus is like 'no bro i wanna be bros' and asterius is like 'yeah bro lets beat each other up as bros' 🪓 🐮
Hello it's been mentioned many times in the game but who are the Fates exactly and what do they do, do we get to see them at some point?
The fates are Nyx's daughters and you don't mess with them. They are not referenced other than via dialogue.
Why does hades act like nothing happened after the first clear?
Fates decide everyone's well fate. Like how long they live and when they die. They also get revenge for some serious crimes
especially like killing family members
hes sole loser
Bro cannot take an L, it’s why the pact of punishment is established right after you beat him the first time
He still thinks of himself as the best fighter in the underworld. On top of that, some plot stuff will explain his motivations better.
Basically there was no chance someone with his pride would immediately accept being bested by his son like his father and his father before him.
technically his grandad just got....sterilized, no?
It ends up with ||Zagreus' job just being doing what he was already doing||
Yeah iirc
I forget if they are born adults or not
I think that varies a lot
Or like they're small adults
Athena was born an adult, I think
she's the only mitosis kid of her generation, (also iirc.)
well technically she has a "biological" mother but born via mitosis
So I completed the side quest to reunite Orpheus and Eurydice a run or two ago
But I didn’t get the Eurydice room until just now
And I heard the duet and just
mah hart
mah sole
He acts like that when he's at the House because he doesn't want word to get out. The reputation that no one can escape is important for the Underworld to function properly. He talks about it a lot more freely when he and Zagreus are on the surface with no one else in earshot.
Sore loser?
yep, typo
I finally gave Thanatos and Megaera their first Ambrosias, but am not sure if this triggers the romance after my next run or not. My question is do I have to unlock conversations with other characters to do so or do I just keep giving Ambrosia?
as long as you keep giving them ambrosia you’ll be good to romance them. sometimes the game will prioritize certain listening dialogue (aka you can’t talk to them) and you’ll have to wait until your next death, but there’s nothing else. the romance will only be triggered if you max out each one (and you can romance them both if you’d like)
hope that makes sense
also random but Aphrodite was born a full adult, I think her and Athena were the only ones in the mythology, although I’m far from an expert so please correct me if I’m wrong
zag and than so hot oml
and right after you max out them, both requires favors
but it takes some time to complete them. Than's favor is related to his encouters during the runs. Megs is about a few times that you see her in zags room
Thanks, @barren bolt and @frozen bay!
anytime!
no prob!
Gods, totally agree. His base model is pretty much that, basic lol, but his soooo beatiful
than my beloved
So why can’t I give than a nectar sometimes?
Depends on how he appears. If there's a dialog box, you can give him nectar. Otherwise, he'll just vanish 😅
just beat EM4, I love the dialogue the run after you beat him when you reach him again
I AM GOING TO THROTTLE SKELLY I SWEAR TO BLOOD AND DARKNESS
||I WASTED PERFECTLY GOOD TITAN BLOOD ON A WEAPON I DONT EVEN USE||
Just for that I’m gonna take my anger out on hell dad
I’m buying the disco ball
Was just gonna say you can swap the diamonds you get from the prophecy back into blood to get a partial refund
BRUH DOES ORPHEUS AND EURYDICE ALWAYS SING OVER THE CREDITS
CAUSE THIS IS BEYOND BANGING BRUH WDYM

Bruh i finally did it
||I HAVE RETURNED THE QUEEN!||
BRUH AND SHE GOT DRIP NOW
SHE GOT
I just did that today as well
The music is pretty pog
I also did that today/yesterday (next day for me)
I KNOW
Love the underworld outfit so much
'yeah we got nice clothes in the underworld'
'what brands u got'
'hades brand'
skulls on everything for everybody
I just got a new dialogue from Theseus after going into Heroes fight with a Yarn of Ariadne. After 500 or so runs...
I see this as an absolute win!
i absolutely agree
Asterius gets upset at him for insulting his sister
I remember that one
there's multiple yarn dialogue btw
Do it again. There are 3 or 4 dialogues
Hey guys im in the middle of brainstorming a story related to this game and i cannot find note of it anywhere so i may be misremembering but... Wasn't Hades cursed never to bear a child in the underworld and that's why Zagreus died in birth or... is this just my brain making up plot points???
If anyone knows what I'm talking about and can confirm or deny, please @ me
yea, i just saw that part on my hellmode playthrough
Zag: you knew you couldnt have a child but you tried anyway?
Hades: who has children intenionally? some joke about something else unintended
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU lol I'm writing a sort of swap AU fic where Than is the one busting out of the underworld and my reasoning for Zag and Perseph to be on the surface hinged on that curse
are you publishing it anywhere
r u posting it somewhere when u done cuz im interested in reading it
I'm hoping to! Its gonna take a while tho lol I'm so bad at finding the motivation to keep doing things
buy and upgrade meg or buy meg and skully? companion
What? Why are you replying to my message that's completely unrelated to your question with a question that's not related to story discussion either?
lmao
Wait this is story
Lmfao
Mb
Xd
Okay so I just completed my first run after beating the game
And why is it that the only thing I can think of
Is right when zagreus goes “ Why you-“ and then gets sent back to the styx
Is just the sniper sound from TF2
Frick now I gotta make that
Just reached the ending, so good
Now to find the epilogue
I love the detail that Hades just has 100 of the same cape in his bedroom
given how he destroys them every time he fights zag, he needs hundreds 😂
Yeah when Zagreus remarks about how it's all samey capes, I lost it.
I knew it!
It's just capes!
Is epilogue true ending?
Yes. After that you can still get new dialogue for a long time but there's no more main plot (other than unfinished relationship stuff)
Is there any requirements I need to meet before I can buy the deed for Orpheus and Eurydice?
max nectar with Orpheus, 5 hearts with Nyx, admin chamber access
Might need some hearts with Eurydice but max nectar isn't required
for the yuan ti aspect, I already got 5 other aspects, have reached hades after the fact, and have spent over 5 titan blood on the spear, is there anything else Im missing, or do I just have to do a few more runs till I get the dialoge?
Is there continued dialog with dusa after nyx's punishment?
Just to be clear I have max affinity with her and she's already returned the ambrosia and have completed the epilog. I'm just being vague cuz I don't want to spoil that far for anyone.
I've gotten Dusa's companion already, maybe?
Yea thats part of maxing affinity I'm in the late late game story wise
anything else, like perhaps a quest I need to complete or a task to do?
Guan Yu, and u need to spend 5 blood on things not-including the spear
yep, I've done that as well
its unlock 5 aspects not spend 5 blood
yeah, I've done that as well, should I just do some more runs?
then yea just wait for dialogue, but do other storylines as well because sometimes one thats in progress stops other stories from starting
5 blood on spear isnt needed. the dialogue doesnt always happen right away so just do runs and talk to achilles
i dont think you had to spend titan blood on spear i got it without doing it
A Yuan Ti is a serpent race from D&D, just thought I'd throw that out there 😅
Also, hello everyone. I'm new to Hades and this server.
I'm loving their take on Greek Mythology, amazing!
You might want to stay away from this channel if you don’t want spoilers for now..,…
Thank you. I'll be fine 🙂
It is a great take on Greek mythology though
I've already cleared more than a few times.
Ah, alright
Indeed
how do i unlock this chamber on west hall
I won't share story, but several clears.
Not just one or two, but like 6 or 7 times.
I'm unsure about normal mode, I play Hell Mode only, I like the Pact of Punishment and the Fated List rewards the Pact give.
Hell mode forces some pacts + 1 exclusive to it and unlocked before first win
The one on the left or the one on the right
i already have the one on the left i bought it with 2 diamonds
and i am on my 6th escape rn
someone told me i need escapes
yeah you get access after the 8th win
I didn't even realize that was another room until I unlocked it lol
lol
I’m confused by Artemis and aphro duo dialogue
What's confusing about it?
Is it saying Artemis doesn’t like aphro or aphro knows Artemis has a crush on zag?
what is the dialogue
Artemis "Hey, uh, Zagreus! There's something I've been wondering, and don't take this the wrong way or anything, OK? Oh, no. It's her."
Aphrodite "Why, Artemis, you're absolutely tongue-tied! Due to our little godling in the Underworld, or a little due to me? Hm-hm, you shall figure it all out I'm sure!"
Artemis "Look, what was I, ugh, just, nevermind. I'll talk to you some other time I guess."
I read this as 1. arty doesn't like aphro very much, this was also a bad time for aphro to show up and 2. aphro thinks arty likes zagreus; whether that's true is unclear
I think it's saying that Aphrodite just likes messing with Artemis since Artemis doesn't seem to respect/worship her.
whyr u calling it yuan tu
Oh wait, is it yuan ti?
guan yu
are you playing in Russian
juan yu
Again, a Yuan Ti is a serpent race from D&D lmao.
Artemis is also a virgin (in real mythology and probably in game chastity is a trait of Artemis) so a goddess like Aphrodite is the opposite of her values. In game it's also mentioned by other deities that Artemis rarely involves herself with the other gods.
So Artemis' annoyance at Aphrodite is based on their spheres of influence as gods and their personalities, I don't think Artemis falls for Prince Z.
Do theseus and asterius have an argument? Whenever I fight them, the dialoge is always asterius telling theseus something else and losing his trust in him. Does anything bad happen in between them?
Ahaha...ha
So, short answer is, yes
But it's extremely entertaining to watch
Theseus is being dramatic, Asterius is cool-headed as ever, and Zagreus feels like the reluctant divorce lawyer
Yeah, just keep playing for one of the funniest encounters in the game 🤣
Just their anime arc
Callisto's myth implies that she might have been gay though and she in Hades she seems very flustered when mentioning her too
But just subtext
Callisto?
Yea she has a line mentioning her in Hades
I might not have seen that, yet haha.
But one of her huntresses that Zeus rapes by pretending to be Artemis
Which like only would work if Artemis typically sleeps with her huntresses lol

I'd wager that Zeus was playing the "trust" card.
Target her followers as the woman herself.
It wouldn't imply Artemis is a lesbian, more that Zeus is just cunning and deceptive (a common theme surrounding him).
I think Callisto was probably surprised that "Artemis" was making moves on her, until the truth came out.
Zeus: "Now, Zagreus, once you arrive, we'll have to find for you a suitable mate, won't we, fine young man such as yourself! Normally, there's much to choose from around here, with some exceptions, of course... such as my cunning daughter, Artemis. Willfully uninclined to take a mate, at all!"
Artemis: "Yes, Zagreus, in spite of all these perfect, chiseled prospects everywhere about, yearning to marry or embarrass me, for some reason, I prefer to spend my time mostly alone or with my nymph friends in the woods!"
In Hades I do think its more likely that Artemis is gay
Gal pals you know
But yea Callisto can be read either way
“Quickly he took on the face and dress of Diana, and said ‘Oh, girl who follows me, where in my domains have you been hunting?’
The virgin girl got up from the turf replying ‘Greetings, goddess greater than Jupiter: I say it even though he himself hears it.’ He did hear, and laughed, happy to be judged greater than himself, and gave her kisses unrestrainedly
This to me looks like would only work if Callisto had an expectation of intimacy from Artemis.
Homosexuality was common in Greek culture and mythology.
But those are Roman versions of the myths. I wonder if they were the same for Hellen's. (I've mostly studied the Hellenistic versions and not the Roman).
There are changes that happened during Roman assimilation of Greek culture.
But, I guess we can read into that any way we'd like. I disagree that Artemis had sexual partners, male or female. Since she's quite specifically considered a virgin.
Sexual interaction was still sex, despite gender back then.
I think Artemis in Hades' game is referring to simply not wanting to be with anyone like that at all, and that she prefers to hunt.
Spending time with her Nymph friends does not equal wanting to have sex/intimacy with them. She may even be asexual (in game) based on that dialogue.
The closest I've seen to Artemis having any urge/crush/etc, is her interest in Achilles, and her confusion after Zag gives her nectar 6.
An example of this was Heracles and him killing the lernien Hydra
The greek word for Virgin just meant "unmarried woman"
And they were hella sexist so it's not impossible that they just believed gay women didnt count
Or pretty strong 12-15yo boy
Spending time with nymph friends line could be taken as is but it's pretty tongue in cheek in that moment
"Must be some reason"
If you were a woman and breathed you had a 98% chance of zuse knocking you up and Hera killing you in some kind of elaborate punishment
I am not wrong when I say this
I mean just look at like trial of Orestes, being a woman sucks
Athena successfully argues that killing your mother is nbd
You forget the Isle of Lesbos.
And Artemis is a Goddess of Chastity, not just the hunt. Which is why I think it's a stretch to say she's not a virgin.
Need I mention how Heracles was born
That, I do agree with haha, they had a pretty rough life back then.
Zagreus, if only could turn yourself into a woodland creature and just fly or burrow out of there! My Callisto, she can turn into a bear, have you seen those? Monstrous, furry things, quite huggable, if they don't kill you first!
They do seem to retcon Callisto's myth though, Zeus isn't a huge jerk
i get major artemis/callisto vibes from a lot of arty's dialogue
and as an itty bitty lesbian i definitely latched onto the myth of artemis running wild in the woods with her band of young women who have sworn off men
the greek definition of chastity wasn't applicable to the modern western sense, really. they defined sex, sexuality and relationships in totally different ways
i think 'was mythological artemis a lesbian' is a pretty much un-answerable question, either way, because the information and the common culture and language just isn't there
and also because 'mythological artemis' meant wildly different things to different greeks in different places at different times, and changed in the telling
Mythological Artemis was a pretty bad person overall so it's not exactly good representation
Yeah, myths eventually evolve into some form of cultural fan fiction
Fair point.
Good thing this was a discussion, I've seen talks go from what's above to just "wikipedia arguments".
Like rather than blaming Zeus for Callisto, she blamed Callisto for being tricked
Well, I'd not want to invoke Zeus' wrath haha.
Good save, Artemis, blame Callisto 😂
Athena said she would always side with men against women since she has no mother
And that men hold the spark to create life
hail, stranger! i am a time traveller, i have summoned you from the year 2389 BC to answer me this question: artemis gay, Y/N?
prosimikos of crete: αυτό δεν είναι το όμορφο σπίτι μου
😎
Anime divorce arc
Athena for the bois! 🤣
Guys, question! Hades just learned that Thanatos is helping me and got pretty mad, will I see Thanatos again? I am currently on the route to romance him so I really want to see him again
yes
Thank you!!
you can only give 1 ambrosia per person with the only exception being Dusa
Edit: I am a dummy and incorrect
REALLY??
and there are specific things to be done before you can do so
usually, you just need to keep talking to them
it'll unfold organically
Thank you for telling me
Man I save up that ambrosia for nothing huh
not for nothing
you'll need it for other people and companions
and you can always trade for titan blood once all thats done
you can give more than one ambrosia per character, you can give thanatos 4
Not at once though
That's not true.
Dusa is the only character you give multiple Ambrosia to in a single encounter, but lots of characters get given multiple Ambrosia over multiple encounters.
yes, i seem to have had a brainfart and forgotten that you give ambrosia after after the midway point on the affinity meter 😅
I didn't know Dusa could be gifted more than once in a single encounter.
I'm past Nectar for her, but is it possible to multi-gift Nectar to Dusa?
I wouldn't, since I like watching the dialogue and story unfold, but subsequent playthroughs I'd like to speed that process.
welp half|| because just giving them afterwards is more part of the story||
so you are not totally wrong
yes you can but only if you wanna do something with her :))
i recommend meg
tho
;))
I meant more than one Nectar at once for Dusa, like how you can with Ambrosia.
oh wait so you already gifted her ambrosia but u still can gift nectar?
i didnt know
No, what I'm asking is if you can gift more than one nectar in a single encounter (I'm really not sure how many ways I can ask this question) 😅
ye no one understood cause the way you asked it
you give them until they have a keyhole
most prob 5-6
Yeah for Thanatos you gotta always check if you can give him before talking to him
Since he tends to poof off after talking
but after ||you get true edning|| he will be more around the house
I guess I'll have to find out lol. I think asking if "more than one nectar can be given to Dusa in a single encounter" is easy to understand 😅
Nectar nope, but she asks for more than 1 bottle of ambrosia at the time
Awesome, thank you 🙂
It goes up to 4 iirc?
i literally told you lmfaoooo
I'm up to Ambrosia, so I'm glad I can gift more than 1.
.
bro wtf? you didnt say if you can give more ambrosia
you asked about nectar
but yes you can still give them ambrosia
i am so f confused

People said you can gift more than one Ambrosia to Dusa in a single encounter, so I asked if you can gift more than one Nectar.
I said I've already finished with nectar for Dusa, but would like to know for subsequent playthoughs to speed up the process.
Eventually, SomeNoobDying answered the question, which is why I went on to say "I'm up to Ambrosia, so I'm glad I can gift more than 1."
here's to clear this up:
you can only gift someone once per encounter. once you have gifted someone you will have to go on another run to reset that and be able to gift again.
dusa is an exception because she will take 10 ambrosia, each instance of gifting her ambrosia is 1•2•3•4 = 10
Thank you. That clears it up wonderfully. Shame the same cannot be done with Nectar, but then again, the pacing of the story is perfect 🙂
it's only because you are gifting her so much ambrosia under the excuse of "helping to stock the lounge"
That makes total sense.
you will have the option to get that all back afterward, or let her keep it. no penalty no matter what you pick
Although, some may wanna get Than or Meg Ambrosia'd up 😂
I'd feel bad for taking it back.
It doesn't affect anything, and as the game states she doesn't mind
Taking it back just lets you make more friends and upgrade your frens
It's personal, I just dislike the idea of taking back gifts. I can earn and buy Ambrosia easily enough.
i took it back because she seemed uncomfortable with zag essentially doing her job for her. but again there's no penalty either way. others take it back simply because ambrosia is valuable and they need it elsewhere
Makes sense.
it's all up to how you interpret their dialogue, pick what suits you
Indeed. I try to max her out asap. She's not always around when I die, so I try to prioritise her, Meg, Than.
At least with Than you can gift him when you encounter.
And is also good bc you can easily unlock Aphrodite's favor after giving them ambrosia
And, of course, unlocking the cutscenes
I better get back to Prince Z.
I gotta get through this new playthrough. 😊
Does nothing happen if you take it back? I did lose alot of ambrosia there...
you're not punished for either option. the dialogue continues as normal. there's no wrong choice
how do i use the spoiler tag again?
||like this||
Guys so, I gave Thanatos 6 nectar and the next heart has a lock on it
What does this mean*
It mean out need to give other characters nectar to progress his story, but you need to figure out which ones you need to give it too so that it will trigger the event.
But you also need to exhaust the dialogue pool so that I can trigger
Ohhh that's interesting! I had no idea about that
I only gave him nectar throughout the game, no one else
Well I did give 1 nectar to all the characters for their gifts
Yes
But I would check with the wiki so that you can figure out who you need to give the nectar to
Thank you for the help
Good
Always have 1 in your inventory as a buffer
Cuz you trade 1 ambrosia for 1 blood
I sadly can't find anything about this
Look at sysiphus in the wiki and it will show
It's under favor
Or to be more exact it would most likely show up as a prophecy
Sisyphus?
Yes
Sisyphus is a former king sentenced to an eternity of punishment within Tartarus for attempting to cheat death. He succeeded twice, each time only temporarily before the consequences caught up with him. His punishment is to roll a boulder up a steep hill; the boulder, however, always rolls back down the hill before he reaches the top, despite hi...
Look at his favor
Yes I did look at his favor, but there is nothing about Thanatos there
Ohhhh I understand what you want me to do
Yes
It says in Thanatos' favors that I need to prove to him my strength and escape the underworld, I didn't ||beat hades|| but I did get out of there once
If that's enough
You need to beat boss 4 once in order to activate a lot of favors
Oh.. so I do need to beat him
Yes
Also stock up on a crap ton of nector cuz it will start to be a pain to get later
Gods keepsakes in Tartarus and asphodel, acorn or lucky tooth in elysium, acorn in styx
I have been using Cerberus' keepsake so far
The whole time?
Yes
You should change that. Which keepsakes do you have
I'll tell you when I go back home in a bit
Ok
I think this fits better in hades discussion instead of story though
End game spoiler:
||I wish I could go to moms garden and water the plants after the fade to black like 20+ times it gets demoralizing
Also I want to see the sunrise again too ||
100% this. I'd play the heck out of a mini gardening sim of watering and growing plants to bring home to the chef.
I've just got my 9th clear in a new hell mode run and I was just thinking how sad it'll be to lose the sunrise again.
Or something like buying materials for the garden that only get added if you complete the run and if you lose the run they get lost
That would be cool
Imagine having a dripped out garden
Yeah, it'd be a way to use up resources (I've got so many unused diamonds and Titan blood and Ambrosia).
Then let other players visit it ... Oh wait, that's animal crossing 🤣
Same
Damn
I did not expect to get straight up ||topped|| by Megaera
Hey question about romance btw. ||I was on the way to completing Dusa's path, but ended up getting to Meg first just by virtue of her being in the House when Dusa wasn't when I had Ambrosia to give. Now I've maxed Meg's affinity and I'm dating her. Does Dusa (and I guess Thanatos) path come back, or does it lock you in? I don't mind either way, I like Meg far and away the best, but I'm curious to see what the other paths hold.||
You can do all 3, and toy don’t need spoilers here
Cool, cool
Do you need ambrosia for non-romance affinity options like Achilles and Skelly?
Yes, but only those who give companions really matter, the rest are just for the icons
Fair call. For Dusa and Than, do I need to complete some in-game achievement to be able to progress their path?
I assume with Dusa I need to renovate the House so hard she falls in love with me
and with Than uhh
idk kill guys
lmao
I don't think so. It's all stuff in the house.
Ok easy enough
Than is just dialogue exhaustion i think
But I did this ages ago so might not be remembering correctly
Right understood
Sure 🙂
Also, I had no idea there was so much going on after credits
Like theres so many little subplots
yep, im almost a 100 wins in and stuff is still going on
A hundred?? Oh my god. I'm only 25 in lmao
thats completely ridiculous. I love it
recently, ||hypnos has been trying to get work done and nyx is like
Nyx: gj, ur sleeping on the job less ur almost kind of competent
Hypnos: thats the best compliment ive ever gotten||
minor hypnos character arc spoiler lol
Oh yeah, Hypnos. That guy I ignore
He's prolly gonna be the last dude I affinity cause i just do not care about him rn
Hypnos is fun
the hypnos slander
though in fairness he'd be the last even if you liked him bc finishing out his quest is just that annoying and long-winded
ok this is probably just an OCD question but why is it Tartarus/Olympus in Hades but in fenyx rising it's Tartaros/Olympos
im so confused
Because language
olympos is the transliteration of Ολυμπος
most often people will use accepted latin spelling, which would be olympus
What's his quest?
Except some people choose to use alternate spellings for effect. Fenyx Rising gives characters a somewhat faux Greek accent, so Olympos sounds more like they say it.
thanks!
glad i learned a thing today
at least 7 back and forths with thanatos, which means not only is it reliant on finding thanatos on a run, but he also needs to not be in the middle of other dialogue chains bc he tends to prioritize those over his with hypnos. it just takes forever
Hooome is not where you live~
But who cares when you're gone
The hidden aspect of malphon is the one I want most, but I've gotten basically every other one before
I only need malphon and coronacht
Hidden bow so fun
What does it do
Tag enemies with special then attack does a % of your dmg to enemies tagged
Also higher attack slower charge
And it has an amazing exclusive hammer

Ikr
I agree
I spent 5 diamonds for that song just to learn it is lyricless
I knowwww
Is there any way to get lyrics?
Am I just supposed to hit the harp after every run to eventually learn it? I usually play with sound off on handheld mode on my switch. So I'm not sure if I'm missing anything
Just do it alot then it works
Orpheus/eury sing them from time of time but otherwise nope
It can be in one or two runs
Love coming back to the house with orpheus singing lament of orpheus
If you see that you have to wait 10 seconds then you've done it
Learning ||what Zeus did with Persephone (aka literally gifting her to Hades)|| really put a lot of his dialogue into context.
Seriously, the audacity of Zeus sometimes…
A good chunk of Greek mythos can be summed up with Zeus' audacity
^^
I have an idea for the continuation of the story. If Zagreus' mother had another child (perhaps from another god). that child, he can enter the underworld to search for his mother.
I know its look like stupid idea...
id rather it take place on Olympus
letting you meet all the gods in person
entirely new setting
maybe a civil war of the gods
or a titan revival scheme
That means a lot of bosses and kaos. I liked it
Kratos cross over final boss
gg
What's the war that is taking place on the surface?
I don't think it's ever specifically determined. There are many to choose from in the time of Greek myth.
oh man i’m going to miss the sunset after beating hades
i miss having a 2nd roll on greece fishing
Sort of a lord of the flies thing
It's pretty much the Peloponnesian Wars though.
Finally reached the epilogue after 90 hours playtime
I'm somewhere around 200 hours and just got the subplot where ||Nyx fires Dusa||
||Omg ive just learnt that. Dusa told me nyx fired her. I hope their is a way to make that not happen. Dusa is so cool ! :(||
I ran out of time last night but I'm furiously doing runs as soon as I can to advance the story
|| There is ||
dusa = best
Bad Calls are hilarious but I also feel a little bad about it.
SAME
i just want the achievement athena i swear
sorry, gotta delete that, no swear words allowed here
What are bad calls
Oh I figured it out
If we're including like every possible version of the mythos, Hades and ||Persephone|| alone have no less than four children including Zag. Maybe more. There's plenty of potential. I once pitched a series of challenge modes all themed after and starring potential siblings to Zag. I would title the expansion: Gold, Ghosts, and Glory.
Regardless, I do hope Supergiant considers adding full expansions to their repertoire in the foreseeable future. I realize it's not currently part of their MO though.

Its weird because my main source for greek mythology has Zeus as zags father
That's one of the versions yeah
I still wanna see what Supergiant would make of Apollo, Hestia, Hera, Hephaestus and so on.
they made hestia into a gun
And hera into a bow
Does any one want to vc
Do people really video chat with strangers? 😬
*voice
Ahh ok that’s a little better
I would if there was some prior conversation
hard to get people just out of the blue with no context imo
That’s what I thought lmao
It sounds like it’d be awkward af
Especially if it’s only 2 people
Also #off-topic-discussion unless you're nearly done
What do you mean
we're getting off topic, so if you have more to say we can move to general discussion before one of the mods comes to
ngl i miss being able to check up on storylines during runs
like ive completed all the story rooms now and i miss talking to eurydice about orpheus or vice versa
and of course theres still the epilogue and the romance quests with dusa and than (IF HE WOULD EVER SHOW UP) but its not quite the same
Yeah something like chapter select would be nice
idk, it feels nice to have full conversations about the story that isnt just like “hey achillies strangers here now take some death defy and go”
Time to start a new save
hell no i still have so much to do game play wise
i need to finish up dusa’s favor but im saving gems rn for the dog throne or whatever
the one thats 2000 gems
for the epilogue i want to start maxing out bonds with the gods right
i got the callisto convo with artemis so i think im close on that quest with her?
yeah, thats what the epilogue requires
i am wayy past the point of stumbling onto voice lines i havent seen, unless its maybe the low health lines from characters or duo conversations (since i havent gotten all duos and there are multiple conversations for those) but ill have to go out of my way to see those. by playing regularly i dont really see anything new :( i miss it... sometimes i consider starting a new file but i want to get the unseen one title first which will take. a while
i want to do high heats and speed runs and things first, i still have a lot of game to enjoy
but once i do all that ill prob start a new save
eh, don't feel like it
thats fair
havent even reached the epilouge yet
i might later though
What are they?
On trials of the god using a full call of the god you angered will result in angry dialogue from them while using it
Ok
where do I ask about how to solve prophecies?
beacuse I'm trying to solve the one that|| reunites chaos and Nyx||
To do that one you ||talk to chaos and nyx alot and then you'll get the work order to reunite them and need to spend 3000ish darkness. For this I used a key to take darkness of the mirror upgrades I don't use||
And here or Hades discussion or Hades discussion for new players
or the wiki
||right, hopefully I just need to do a run or 2 before I get that option, because I already did the talking part with them both, and I'm 2/3 of the way darkness wise||
3142 I think
Someone on the subreddit found this: https://mythology.stackexchange.com/questions/1622/how-many-gods-goddesses-are-there-in-total-in-greek-mythology/1623#1623
Apparently the total number of gods and goddesses in Greek mythology is 3142
(although it depends on how they're counted)
Do I need to talk to Chaos with the Chaos aspect before I can get the waking phrase for Beowulf? It's the last aspect I need and not forthcoming.
Talk with them with any shield to receive dialogue about those
Then talk with Chaos again no matter the weapon for the ohrase
yeah its any shield. you need to see any of these lines
→"You come to my domain bearing an all-seeing artifact that sprang from me after the dawn of time. It is considered a defensive instrument, I do believe. Though, I suspect you have discovered, or soon shall discover, it is nothing of the sort."
this is from using any aspect
→"I expected your arrival, Son of Hades. For I am able to see through you. Rather, through the all-seeing artifact, which sprang from me after the dawn of time, and now resembles, in your hands, its foremost form. Respond."
this one's a brief convo with zag i didnt write the rest of down lol
→"Ah, you have that all-seeing artifact of mine, but in the old guise that the great Lord Zeus once used when he retaliated violently against his parentage. I watched his movements through it for some time."
zeus aspect obvs
if you've seen any of those and meet the other requirements its just a matter of fighting dialogue rng
So if the world sprang from chaos are the titans like his kids? I know nyx and Erebus are their kids although Erebus in the game is the location (below Tartarus?) but there is a god associated with it.
Chaos is they btw
Your right
My right what?
Ta. I've got the top line, so I guess I just need more faith in RNJesus
