i would rather fight two tiny vermin than the big mini boss rat that literally coats the entire room in poison

I thought I wasn't gonna get it. If you make sure not to do the increased health pact or the jury summons pact (or the benefits pact), you should be able to clear rooms easier.

Since you have to go back and for between Achilles and Patroclus to do that quest, as long as you skip Patroclus once, you’ll get Achilles’ help in between

I think it's only musical. I know whenever I try to switch to Hymn of Zagreus, Orpheus never starts singing and Idk if he ever sings unless he does it naturally. After you buy In The Blood, I'm sure he'll randomly sing it whenever you come back to the House.

The way I understand it is that it isn't "easy mode" per se. Just buffs you up over subsequent runs to make it easier to complete the story. In any case, they made it and option for players just like you so I'd say go for it.

I'm on my 9th clear and the story is worth seeing imo.

If you run like I did, the heat gauge has some really basic/easy options and a few fun ones, but I didn't start getting consistent clears until my heat was up to around 8 to 12 and a lot more of the game started clicking for me

Just do base clear and 1/2/3 heat clear with each weapon and you’ll have plenty of blood for a while

there are a few aspects that don't really need leveling (Hera bow) or even Zeus Shield, and others that are just not great without it. The Zag aspects are all generally decent, and cheap to upgrade.

you are not required to have the fists equipped at the time of receiving the waking phrase. you are required to have asterius previously comment on the fists while you are using them, that's a prerequisite condition for getting the phrase

Well general rule of thumb. You must have the Varatha hidden aspect unlocked and spend at least 5 titan blood in aspects on the weapon

And then just exhaust your dialogue with everyone

Bad Take from me: This game def has some weird difficulty scaling, maybe cuz of rng? Like I get it is a "git gud" game but I'm finding it hard to not get frustrated just trying to trigger rng side quest stuff. Like just trying to to the O&E quest prompt from nyx or get into the second half of companion quests is driving me nuts. Like it really isnt a good feeling to spend 20-30 hrs on a game and then feel like you have to turn on kid mode to get the story past the first few chapters.

Yeah, like obviously I think the initial run of getting through to the final stage/boss and stuff is super fun-the first 20 to 30 hrs spent were absolutely great! That is awesome bang for buck/roguelike fun. But now I guess I'm at the point where getting through tartarus/asphodel is just grinding, hoping I hit some of the story characters. The final boss is definitely still giving me trouble, but I guess its just frustrating to just do the same run over and over only to find out Nyx/Than/Achilles just didnt spawn, or what have you.
