It was a disappointing ending for me personally but it felt like an acual ending to its story, so it has nothing to do with Hades being a Rogue-Like-Game. Here it even feels a bit like getting shown the middle finger after winning the game. I let it slide because early access but since V1.0 is planed as the next update I feel like having to point this out at least once. -.-´

i think when the game officially launched, it's either a) you have to unlock a certain amount of content etc for you to get the ending or b) no matter your clear % you get to see the ending and then you can choose to go back and continue farming story
if you play long enough there's hints that you'll definitely reach the surface/meet zag's mom or the other olympians; it's just slyly winked at the fact that due to ongoing underworld renovations that things aren't ready yet ;D
