From my playthroughs, my theories so far have been:

I wonder if Skelly is Zagreus's grandfather - the mortal that Demeter was with, giving life to Persephone/ Kore
You know how the normal encounters prepare you for boss mechanics, and boss mechanics prepare you for the Hades fight? I wonder if the mechanics of the double boon encounters (god vs god) prepare us for something like: we get to the surface and upon finding out that going to Olympus wasn't Zagreus's actual goal, we'll be forced to either survive god attacks, or fight enemies blessed by the gods as revenge?

Well, the fact does stand that Hades has a relationship meter which is locked off until a future update. That's why I wonder if it improves because of something like, fighting the other gods later on

I would second guess scorning him depending on hp and what the map is like, with smth like that lol. as it is now dio's trial isn't really one I deliberately avoid

I think the main one I shy away from atm is demeter, bc the ice has a wide range and it's not hard to get distracted and caught in it, so the slow down is an annoyance. I avoid athena purely on principle. anyone else though... can't really say other trials annoy me enough to steer clear, unless I'm already running rift, then ares trial becomes a mess lol
