i’m not a big fan of the bow bcos i’m impatient and not that good at ranged weapons that aren’t rapid fire (like the volley special and the rail) but i can totally see it being tough :( alecto in general is super rough if you can’t reposition yourself and fight back quickly

She's a cool fight but I don't like rolling it. I find her more infuriating to fight than both Tisiphone and Megaera.
Tisiphone isn't hard to figure out and is easier to dodge. Megaera as well. Alecto is nigh impossible it feels to dodge especially in the permarage state.
And I dislike that I'm incredibly tempted to kill her by forcing her to run over her own traps repeatedly. It's pretty dull and takes a while

@tired temple Thanatos starts showing up after about 23 runs. There's a random chance to encounter him in any normal combat rooms; he won't interrupt boss fights or anything, so if you go to more combat rooms instead of bosses, stores, etc. you'll have a better chance of seeing him

presumably he has a low encounter rate, as many people have complained that thanatos doesn't show up a lot
(once i got a solid 10 runs inbetween thanatos encounters!)

This is something I've been thinking about a lot lately, and given the current situation I figured I'd share some of my thoughts. Before I begin, allow me to say that this entire conversation contains spoilers which I don't have the energy to go through and tag individually, and the rest of it deals with a rather heavy subject, so read through at your own risk. There are multiple layers to this, the first of which being that, while we can all agree incest is bad, with the source material being Greek mythology incest is unavoidable. Hades is Persephone's uncle, so that's already an established relationship in the game that's incestuous.
Another complicating factor is that of blood relation, and this is where I believe the line gets fuzziest; Zagreus does not view Hypnos, Thanatos, and Nyx as his "real" family, which comes with the unfortunate implications that adopted children are not "really" part of their families, as his viewpoint seems to be supported by everyone else who knows, and even upheld by the narrative thus far. I do not believe this is the message SGG is trying to send, since having Zagreus escape from the Underworld and simply have a happy ending with Persephone is too clear-cut, while running away from home, and from Hades's undeniably bad parenting, only to be told narratively that he was wrong to do so would not be a satisfying conclusion to his character arc.
This is where shipping comes in. There is an unfortunately large amount of people in fandom that fetishize mlm relationships, especially between brothers. This is not what is going on here, as the relationship between Thanatos and Zagreus is, without the context of them being brothers, a very romantic one.
For what it's worth, I agree with you, @livid kiln. I think there's too many blurred lines in this case for me to comfortably ship Than and Zag, or Zag and Hypnos for that matter, but I also trust SGG and the people in this server to not be creepy about it, and that they have the best intentions at heart.

Thanatos saying "you left us" with the implied "you left me" does have some romantic implications, again when taken out of the context of the brotherly dynamic. This is where the problem lies, as the game treats their brotherhood strangely, with Thanatos insisting that Zagreus's "real" family is at the House, and Zagreus insisting it's with Persephone. The narrative doesn't support either side over the other yet, so there's a ton of grey area left.

I think Patrocles is gonna make an appearance in Elysium, either as a Sissyphus-like non-combat event (which i don't think because Patrocles is a warrior), or as perhaps a boss of sorts, Patrocles wanting to challenge Zag, who is Achilles' student, or perhaps he's been hired by Hades to impede Zagreus, which puts him in opposition to Achilles who wants to see Zag succeed.

Thanatos has low spawn rates, and also limited spawn rooms. In Tartarus he can only spawn after the 10th chamber, and in Asphodel after the 3rd (I believe). This means you have 4 chances (10,11,12,13) in Tartarus, and probably something like 4 chances on Asphodel if you include the Shop/Challenge rooms there.
So you essentially have 8 attempts at what I believe is a 5% chance for the event to trigger.

Also depending on how the game handles it, it might be even lower than a 5% chance each room, since from what I can normally find the game does a bit of "if not X, then Y." So if the game rolls for a survival room before Thanatos room, maybe you get even lower odds.

Also there is that check to see the max time since damage taken, so maybe if you just don't take damage on 5 rooms, he will show up.
I am assuming that that also needs to coincide with the available rooms.

Alright I just had a run where I didn't take damage for 15 rooms, and then two rooms after I got hit I got Thanatos.

there's like one (1) convo left in this update that i found out totally by accident i hadn't seen yet and it requires you to see thanatos before getting a meg fight and with the rng lined up the way it is now such that
-getting a thanatos room before meg at all is pretty unlikely
-getting meg as the tartarus boss is also reasonably unlikely (though more likely than getting a than room by far)
-neither of these things appears to be controlled by the run seed

If it was dialogue in a proper conversation, you want C://Program Files/Epic Games/Hades/Content/Scripts/NPCData.lua, but look at your own risk, as there is content in there not in the game yet

Is there any way to get Thanatos to spawn more reliably? Or specific reward doors he's more likely to be behind? Ive just won three runs in a row and he didnt spawn a single time. Can he even spawn in asphodel?

He can! The spawn conditions for Thanatos are
-Between Chambers 10 and 13 in Tartarus; between Chambers 19 and 25 (i think? i need to check) in Asphodel
-You have to have taken damage at least once in the past five chambers
-survival rooms will take precedence over Thanatos rooms so if it rolls that way that's just how it be
-he won't spawn in boss rooms, god challenge rooms, or non-combat rooms
that being said, his spawn chance is pretty low and it's easy to go tons of runs without seeing him even if you're really trying
i'm also not sure if he'll spawn during heat runs

Personally Alecto is one of the easier furies for me at higher heat (at least before perma rage) but that’s only because I get her more often so I have more practice fighting her. Not saying she’s easy though, she’s still hard

her spinning blades can’t be destroyed or deflected and they keep following your movement. i always find those the worst part of alecto

She's fast, she has the most difficult aoes to deal with (since they spawn constantly and always right on top of you), she has a lot of invuln, she has slow-moving aoes that further restrict you. It's simply all her mechanics coming together imo
