I just dash then attack

#

As long as you input the attack anywhere during the dash you get one

#

This can also be used to delay it just enough to still dodge attacks the do a dash strike

hollow stump
#

I've been trying to get a win on every one of the weapons and I only have exagryph left but its the weapon I like the least anyone have some good builds for it? I also don't have the 4th aspect yet. I also haven't even unlocked any aspects.

frank goblet
hollow stump
#

nice, Thanks!

hollow stump
tight basin
#

eris is really good for the zeus build

#

hestia is really straightforward if you just slap on aphrodite attack lmao

#

but eris might be more fun if you like visual fun

hollow stump
#

also kind of cool but now on a 4 win streak

plain river

Real rail build:
tidal dash
everything else is optional

rough blade
#

nah get passion dash

swift hill
#

Nah, get DoorDash.

worn pawn
#

maybe im crashing out because hades after 2nd form was 1 sliver health away, but i feel like guan yu sucks. i had to restart 5 runs with it, and be lucky with death defiances

#

is it any good for any build that it'll be better for me? or maybe im just really bad at using weapons with long attack periods

plain river
#

But

#

It’s hard to use

#

and way harder to master

worn pawn
#

so a harsh-learning curve?

plain river
#

sort of

#

the big hp penalty is especially rough

#

And most players tend to try to stick to the spin strictly

#

And forget the rest of the changes GY makes

worn pawn
plain river
#

The GY special is really strong, and dash-strikes are still a great option on GY

worn pawn
plain river
#

Charged Skewer is also just as strong if not stronger than serrated point most of the time

worn pawn
#

anyways, is there specific boons that i should target when applying to this weapon? other than the dash strikes and special you mentioned, how else should i change my playstyle

plain river
#

For a special focused build it’s like big +% special damage, so aphro special (or demeter /athena), chaos flourishes, charged skewer and your main damage focus is all about the special

#

You can use artemis for crits it’s just more reliant on you finding chaos additive

#

serrated point is a lot of the same where you’d want +% strike, although since it hits multiple times artemis pops off way harder there (and chaos can offer both strike and dashstrike damage bonuses)

#

You can spin, but just keep it to between waves to regain a little hp

worn pawn
#

oh i used ares doom for the special

#

oh im not dependent on the spin at all

#

i dont like it

plain river
worn pawn
#

so typically i use the skewer for the doom effect while adding normal/dash attacks

plain river
#

then you can focus on a dash-strike build

#

which one you want to lean into kinda just depends on what hammer you find early

worn pawn
#

alr, really do appreciate your advice, ill try to apply this in a new run soon

plain river
#

Otherwise like

#

tidal dash / blade dash are your friends for styx and small enemies

#

or divine dash is just defensive

#

You might want to prioritise defensive hermes options even more than normal

supple drum
#

I have discovered the beauty of Coronacht (Hera's form) 🤌🤌🤌

hazy raven
#

I'm new what's a good weapon? I have spear, shield, sword, and bow

plain river
#

I’d recommend experimenting with each weapon and figuring out what you find fun

#

You can get pretty creative with your builds if you use god keepsakes to get the gods you want in early (tartarus/asphodel)

plain river
#

That’s not to say don’t ask for build advice or suggestions btw, I just don’t want you to think “oh this weapon is good so I shouldn’t use the others” when every weapon is perfectly fine for all the content the average gamer plays through

winter canyon
#

hell yeah charon gave me merciful end

Ope! I'm so sorry. Thank you!

Since I've done just about everything that can be done in Hades 2 at this point, I've been itching to go back and "finish" Hades 1 past all steam achievements. I remember barely getting past the second Skelly challenge so any help on heat / weapon builds going into the 32 heat challenge would be welcome

frank goblet
#

just so that i can give some more help with build advice/pact advice

jade umbra
#

Oh goodness, it's been so long I can't recall off the top of my head but probably the homing bow?

frank goblet
# jade umbra Oh goodness, it's been so long I can't recall off the top of my head but probabl...

Okie! Chiron bow isn't one of the best aspects in the game, but for 32h its still fine. Some build paths are, ignoring the aspect entirely and getting a good attack running Aphrodite is preferred for this with hammer preference for first being Twin Shot -> Triple Shot -> Perfect Shot -> Point-Blank Shot -> Concentrated Volley -> Relentless Volley -> the rest (this hammer preference is pretty universal for Chiron). Secondary gods you could look for include, Artemis for dash, special if you have concentrated or a chaos boon buffing special. Athena for the survivability. If you don't get Concentrated Volley and you really do want a special you can always go for Dionysus for the dot.
For builds focusing more on special you have either starting Aphrodite again for special and then just hope you get Concentrated Volley first hammer or you start Dionysus and just build around the dot, still wanting some sort of good attack or attack hammers but starting Dionysus does open some good first hammers (so does aphro special to be clear).

worn pawn
worn pawn
#

and i stupidly realize that theres a high-heat-strategies chat...

frank goblet
worn pawn
frank goblet
#

(gyan yu and eris are also honorable mentions, but are imo a little bit harder to play with, and those 2 are also a bit more hammer demanding)

worn pawn
#

hey how is guan yu so good anyways?

#

i did heard of some dash attack and special builds, but even i know that builds that are dependent on a different weapon has at least a semi-decent inclusion in the normal attack

frank goblet
#

its able to play ranged, has good base damage, can heal through LC4 and athena attack gives you a really strong defensive and decent offensive option

#

the special builds do kinda fall off at high heat due to things like DC2

#

but thats dependent and pact and how long you actually do heat climbing

worn pawn
#

sorry what are these terms LC and DC?

frank goblet
#

lasting consequences

#

and damage control

worn pawn
#

okie thank you again

tight basin
#

eris isn't really hammer demanding at 32 heat tbf

#

the dps of eris is so stupid high that you kinda can get away with bad hammers

#

it is a bit more mechanical tho unless you get delta chamber hammer tho

worn pawn
#

hey but is guan yu is at least good in first upgrade (-70% healing and max health)? i know final aspects have a hard learning curve, but this just feels painful as i have to stock up in centaur hearts and ignore other boons i want in a run

#

im not saying in 32 heat, im saying in general

frank goblet
worn pawn
#

hey am i crazy or is it when you use charge your shot with coronacht during your dash, it charges more faster than when you charge it normally?

tight basin
#

yeah it does charge faster

#

that's how you're supposed to play bow lmao

worn pawn
#

oh

#

is there anything else about some secret input from a weapon that i should know of?

frank goblet
#

theres pseudotech croven

worn pawn
#

whats that

frank goblet
#

input tech you can do on all bows and all spears (idr for sure, ik it works on gyan yu)

plain river
#

is crazy

lean viper
#

is there any special binds i should use or keep em stock?

plain river
worn pawn
#

like i don't even want to play them anymore becuz its too good (at least for now with me being in like at most 7 heat in all weapons)

plain river
#

Ykw relatively speaking they aren’t that bad though

#

They’ren’t reddit or gaming journals

lean viper
plain river
#

If you’re going to change anything, people sometimes swap dash to the triggers

#

If I’m using loading cast aspects ||Hera or Beowulf|| I’ll swap cast with call or summon

worn pawn
#

is achilles spear top tier? i just want to say if its bad, im still using it if it isn't obvious enough why

frank goblet
worn pawn
frank goblet
#

very much so yeah

worn pawn
#

well i love the achilles spear becuz its simply just fun, while you guys talk about practicality of winning through dps or something, i just really love that mobility option of throwing the spear

lean viper
plain river
lean viper
#

so the 3 shot one?

plain river
#

If you have flurry jab, the only real options you have to really further your dps are triple jab and extending jab

lean viper
#

ahh okok tyty

plain river
#

so the crit part doesn’t happen

#

Breaching skewer is like your next best cope pick

#

If you don’t hit either for your second hammer

#

since armour shred is armour shred

plain river
#

Iirc it is a dps up but you heavily tank your mobility and you end up staying in one place for ages each dashstrike

frank goblet
plain river
#

om raging rush?

frank goblet
#

yeah

plain river
#

I could’ve sworn it didn’t

#

ok interesting

#

Then vicious skewer is a solid cope pick given you have hunters mark

#

I think without hm it’s still not worth it really

worn pawn
#

hey for rama, what are the best recommendations of which boon to use on the normal attack button

frank goblet
#

or if you want safety, then its athena dash

worn pawn
#

wait artemis? i mean, if im going to get an artemis boon on one of my attacks, the attack typically is really fast to have the best crit chance. (other than her dash, it has nothing to do with crit). is it that good to have it on rama's normal attack, who have arguably the slowest attack in all the aspects?

frank goblet
#

the dash strike isnt all too slow, and rama perfect shots have really good base damage

worn pawn
#

wait whats artemis crit chance for the normal attack slot? i forgot

frank goblet
#

15%

worn pawn
#

that still feels pretty low, even with pressure points... is it that good (for rama)? sorry for asking this over and over again, but it kinda changes what i percieve of what's good in a build or not

frank goblet
#

yes, its very good still, artemis attack is a little bit more reliant on getting other good % additive through like chaos buffs or artemis dash first

#

the anyheat rama build for example starts zeus keepsake for the special and then tries to get artemis second god for either dash or attack for the damage and to open lightning rod for the late game room clear it gives

#

artemis is also good on things that hit hard as well, or already have good base damage

#

often times tho is like second best pick compared to aphrodite

#

just bc of the consistency on dps

worn pawn
frank goblet
#

it can be good on multi hit as well yeah, nemesis has builds for stacking crit chance as well as zagbow and then doing pseudo tech w/ triple shot to provide ample criting

#

iirc the hades spear heat record uses artemis attack + serrated point

#

yep the modded (modded referring to the speedrun modpack in case you werent aware) starts artemis attack and then serrated point for the damage

tight basin
frank goblet
#

high base damage is loved by artemis

#

the bigger the number you are 3x'ing the better

tight basin
#

generally if you take artemis attack, you want additional scaling through chaos, but rama can get away with it bc shared suffering already gives you 60% additive

#

not to mention twin/triple shot on rama helps a ton too

#

and artemis dash

frank goblet
#

perfect shot, point blank as well for even more additive effects

prime fossil
#

I’m working on the dark reflections fated list and I only need to use Dark regeneration, Stubborn defiance, ruthless reflex, abyssal blood, golden touch, privileged Olympian favor, and fated authority. I am all weapons and aspects unlocked, all keepsakes, and companions unlocked

tight basin
#

explosive if you're on FO negative 5

tight basin
#

you could in theory do it all in one run if you use hestia

frank goblet
#

any time i get explosive second hammer on ap2 rama part of me sighs in pain of walking into the next chamber and resetting Bouldy

tight basin
#

real

#

i remember once i was like "oh it's not too bad" and then i got to heroes

#

and then it was very bad

frank goblet
#

repulse shot though ZagGrin

tight basin
#

at least it's not explosive!

worn pawn
# tight basin the stuff that hits fast generally has a low base damage, so you're like crittin...

well, i kind of thought it like this, deadly flourish (artemis special), has a 20% crit chance. lets say the special of the chiron bow does 10 damage for each arrow, with 8 arrows shot out from the special (and im not counting the %boost). so like it would do 80 damage without any crits, but im betting at least 2 arrows will do the crit (yes, i know thats technically 25% of all the arrows, not 20%). so that will be 120 damage for each special. and im not counting any other buffs to this btw

#

thats my thought process essentially, im not saying im right

frail beacon
#

I think zeus is just flat increase per projectile?

prime fossil
frail beacon
frank goblet
#

it has an internal cooldown for the zeus bolts so it only hits like once (or twice?) per enemy hit

dull viper
tight basin
#

still a bit dubious unless you get concentrated volley

frail beacon
dull viper
#

something like
1-1-2-0-1...

frail beacon
#

this boon suddenly feels much worse than I expected

dull viper
#

just don't use it on rama and chiron special

#

they're the only specials that hit that fast

frank goblet
#

zeus special is good on rama though 😭

frail beacon
#

special yes

tight basin
#

iirc it doesn't affect the same enemy twice, but if the 2nd one hits a different enemy they'll take damage

#

double strike is still good it's just not as good lmao

tight basin
#

unless you're doing very high heat then dio special is also very good until you rng into dio call

dull viper
#

I'm so washed

frail beacon
#

do I overrate athena's dash and call or not?🤔

tight basin
#

prob a bit, but it's still really good

tight basin
frail beacon
#

yeah, the dash easily clears the witches which is nice

tight basin
#

and also it's good immediate aoe

dull viper
worn pawn
#

i mean is that justification enough just for witches hut? i mean i really like athena's dash because i basically don't have to think of projectiles at all, but i think it is quite overrated

tight basin
#

it's good in like every room but you def dont need it for witches circle

dull viper
#

no athena dash is definitely good

tight basin
#

the only other good dashes are tidal dash and hunters dash

worn pawn
#

im thinking im liking hunters dash a lot better, but then again, im kinda maining rama right now so...

tight basin
#

ddash is def overrated but it's still rated quite highly for a good reason

tight basin
#

divine dash

#

athena dash

frank goblet
dull viper
#

door dash 🤑 😋

worn pawn
#

isn't like dionysus and demeter pretty bad at slow attacking options because they rely on stacking their debuffs?

frail beacon
#

I feel like Ares call is pretty weak unless you get Ares leg, in which case it is really strong

tight basin
#

dem is bad, dio is fine/mid

#

dio's just really good at consistency bc all it needs for scaling is poms since it has linear pom scaling

worn pawn
#

well dionysus does go up to 5, and demeter goes up to 10 so yeah

tight basin
#

dio call is insane

frail beacon
#

dio + aphrodite is a nice HP source lol

tight basin
#

dio attack on eris does a surprising amount of damage bc of the global damage boost

worn pawn
#

yeah i never understood this, what's global damage?

tight basin
tight basin
#

eris has a +75% damage boost, so your dash will deal 75% more damage

worn pawn
tight basin
#

normal damage boosts don't effect stuff like doom and hangover

#

but global does

#

doom, hangover, cast, and dash damage are considered flat damage, which don't get boosted by chaos and other gods

#

but eris and rush delivery boost damage from everything

#

sweet surrender and gilgamesh maim debuff enemies to take more damage from all sources, including summons

frail beacon
#

damn, zeus legendary is absolutely insane on fast hitting weapons

plain river
#

More, higher flat damage for your flat damage is cray

frail beacon
#

does eris aspect really have higher DPS than lucifer? because it felt like the damage I was dealing on lucifer was crazy

proper furnace
#

+75% dmg kinda strong

frail beacon
#

yeah, but lucifer bombs just lying there and zapping enemies with lightnings is quite unique

#

kinda better aspect of zeus

#

but can't block

proper furnace
#

Contradicting statement there tizomg

frail beacon
#

unique in that you can also aim

#

I think the highest DPS I have ever had was on nemesis sword with hoarding slash and 4x dash

proper furnace
#

Hoarding slash 😔

plain river
#

crazy

#

The fact that that was your highest dps is mind boggling

plain river
#

Also yeah eris global +75% is just way too insane

frail beacon
plain river
#

3k with double edge and extra dashes

#

Also the time it takes to get your obols up just makes it completely unviable for speed purposes where you’d be better off just using your obols asap

frail beacon
#

was it aphrodite's attack?

plain river
#

hoarding slash damage is one of two damage bonuses in game classified under “extra damage”, meaning the damage is tacked on after everything else in the damage calculation

#

so hoarding slash damage is added after additive +% and after crit damage multiplication

#

the other source is the +40 from merciful end if you were interested

frail beacon
#

I see

frail beacon
#

hm... it seems like I actually was undervaluing artemis' call, she beats an entire theseus' or hades' phase (as in, from one invuln until the next invuln)

plain river
frail beacon
#

depends on weapon I guess

plain river
#

not really

frail beacon
#

hm

plain river
#

the weapon doesn’t change anything about her call

frail beacon
#

oh, you mean the call

plain river
#

yeah

frail beacon
#

well, feels definitely better than zeus call

plain river
#

it’s more satisfying to chunk but 4 dio minicalls or 4 zeus minicalls is more damage than a full artemis call and gives you the advantage of not needing to fully charge

#

it’s way more flexible and more usable in avg rooms

frail beacon
#

hm, fair

plain river
#

You’re also never going to lose as much value to a break point

#

since you’re using minicalls

#

Zeus opens smouldering air which lets you spam minicalls a ton as well zaggrin

#

and dio just recharges himself due to persistent large dot aoe damage after the call is finished being used

#

The specifics on why dio charges himself, and why it’s actually so fast make a lot of sense when you’ve looked into the call charge formula and mechanics tbh

spring basalt
#

Greetings. I've played for a decent while now (escaped twice I think) and so I was just wondering if y'all got any tips or advices? I know a few things like you should switch God items between bosses and to get suo boons but what would y'all think vs very important to know?

plain river
spring basalt
#

Ah ok understandable

#

How useful are lvs compared to rarities

#

I tend to upgrade rarities over lvs when I can

spring basalt
#

Oh wow, data

plain river
#

Like you can see that dio aid benefits from poms so much more than rarity

#

but heartbreak flourish has massive gains with rarity

#

dio aid also immediately has linear pom scaling where pretty much every non-hangover boon has a massive first pom and then diminishing returns of about 0.7x the last value until it hits (at the latest) level 7 then goes linear

spring basalt
#

Alrighty

plain river
# spring basalt Oh wow, data

So yeah which boons need rarity and which ones want a lot of poms vs which ones want maybe 1-2 poms before diminishing returns matter just comes with experience

spring basalt
#

Fair enough

plain river
#

the big ticket ones for poms are tidal dash, static discharge from zeus, doom sources from ares, hangover sources (you only ever want a single hangover source on a build btw)

#

your core strike/special boon is often also going to want a pom or two but it just depends on who’s giving it

plain river
#

like you could reroll for epic rush delivery on hermes but even common rush delivery is so valuable that it’s just never worth the gamble

spring basalt
#

True

plain river
#

I think that’s mostly about it but just feel free to ask whatever you want if you need more specifics

#

That’s kind of how you learn a ton because not everything is immediately apparent when you’re playing

#

The fact that jolted can easily be like 20-60% of your dps for lightning builds wasn’t really known before the dps meter mod came out

#

Because it’s not something you actively pay attention to like at all

spring basalt
#

Alright thank you

#

Got any tips against dad?

plain river
#

Once you’re actually used to his attacks it gets way easier to figure out when you can hop in and deal damage and how to avoid his attacks

spring basalt
#

His spinning move is so annoying, delayed attacks sucks man

#

But hey, just beat him now =D

#

So what did his skull move do if it's hit me? Disables my boons?

plain river
#

Hades version

#

so you take +100% damage for the duration that the skull bloodstone is in you

spring basalt
#

Oh ok

#

Rude of him

spring basalt
#

Does the mirror upgrade that increases damage enemies take when the cast is inside them, still count when using boons that effect your cast?

#

Like if I use the Areas spinning saw cast, then does it no longer have the ability to get the damage buff from that corresponding mirror upgrade?

plain river
spring basalt
#

Understandable

plain river
#

the cast needs to be stuck in them (there’s a little icon on their hp bar) for it to count

spring basalt
#

Is there a requirement to need for getting a gods specific legendary boon? Like duo needs boon from each for, is there something like that for legendary boons?

#

Also are there boon tiers, seperate from rarity?

spring basalt
#

Ok thank you

plain river
#

the only things that really seperate the non-duo/legendary boons are core boons (strike/flourish/shot/flare/dash boons from any of the main olympian gods) (so not Hermes or Chaos) and status curse boons (static discharge, razor shoals) that add a status curse to a gods core boons, which both have respective forms of priority when being rolled compared to every other boon

spring basalt
#

Ah ok, thank you

proper furnace
#

Oh nvm I can't read

spring basalt
#

Just checking, does the dash have natural i-frames?

plain river
#

Dash-striking removes them

#

from the point that you input onwards

spring basalt
#

Ah ok, thanks

verbal nacelle
#

Ugh, okay I keep getting confused by this. Hunters Instinct. Is it actually useful? 0.25% sounds way too low to be even noticeable, whether it is the amount of gauge gain you'd normally get, or the total amount of gauge.

#

Is it just a typo? Is it supposed to be 2.5%? Or am I missing something entirely?

plain river
#

It’s a quarter of 1% of your god gauge

#

just to be clear

#

and it has an internal cooldown like lightning bolts and support fire

plain river
#

all damage above 60 is square rooted for the calculation

verbal nacelle
#

That sounds... bad. Good to know. I've never actually noticed a useful change, even with high crit focused builds like zag bow or nemesis sword.

plain river
#

if you want like a full read on how charging god gauge works

#

I have a message I stole from Scratch on speedcord but I’m unsure if he wrote it himsself or if he just sourced it from the older speedcord

#

Call Charge

Aside from boons like Quick Favor and Smoldering Air, your Call charges every time you receive or deal damage, with the following formulae:

Dealing Damage

The value your Call gauge is charged when you deal damage follows these steps per instance of damage on an enemy by Zagreus:

  1. Is damage dealt ≤ 60? If so, carry damage value forward. Otherwise, value = 60 + sqrt(damage - 60)
  2. The value from step 1 is multiplied by 1%, and then by 1 + Clouded Judgment bonus, if you have it. The final value is the % of the call gauge charged. This scales with the square root function, as such for example damage (no Clouded Judgment):

10 damage - 0.1% gauge
50 damage - 0.5% gauge
100 damage - 0.66% gauge
300 damage - 0.75% gauge
500 damage - 0.81% gauge
750 damage - 0.86% gauge
2000 damage - 1.04% gauge

So you can see how sharply the call charge falls off with damage past 100 per hit.

Taking Damage

The base value your Call gauge is charged when you get hit is 60% * (Damage Taken / Max HP). If you had 100 HP, and you took a 100 HP hit, your call would gain 60% charge. Overkill damage counts in this case. If you had 1 HP, and took a 100 HP hit, your call would still gain 60% charge. This value is then multiplied additionally by Clouded Judgment and Boiling Point bonuses, if you have those boons. They are additive, so if you had a 40% boiling point and a 10% clouded judgment, that is a 50% multiplier, so the 100 HP hit with 100 max HP would charge your call gauge 90% from that hit.

Additional Notes

  • Call charge will not take place while the call is active. You can tell the call is "active" because the bar is still draining.
  • Hunter's Instinct is a flat call charge per crit, as it says on the tin. There appears to be a 0.5second cooldown on its activation, however.
#

Wait hunters instinct is 0.5s not 0.2s like I remembered

#

That’s even worse

#

like way way worse

verbal nacelle
#

Oh wow that's awful. Why would there be a cooldown at all? The whole point of crit builds is to get as many as possible, and unless you REALLY focus on it rhe best you can usually get is around 50%, and not usually universal chance. And the gain rate is still lower than what you'd get from just dealing normal damage.

#

Yikes thats worse than I thought.

plain river
#

Like a single lvl1 blade dash against 1 target has the same charge speed as if you have 100% uptime on hunters instinct

#

with no damage buffs

verbal nacelle
#

🤦

#

Yeah, I think I'll be avoiding that boon from now on. Thanks for the insight.

plain river
verbal nacelle
#

Totally! I would love to see more call focused builds, but it seems they're pretty limited. Unless you run smoldering air, but thats about all I can think of.

plain river
#

smouldering air with zeus call just pops off

#

it also works well with dio call but dio also does a great job of charging himself so it’s like a bonus

verbal nacelle
#

Absolutely. I ran an invincibility build with that and zag fists, so much fun. Just stand in the center of the hades fight and he cant even hit you.

plain river
#

since the dot nature of hangover lets it charge god gauge where other calls can’t chargr themselves

verbal nacelle
#

Second wind and greater evasion, plus lambent plume ftw

plain river
#

I get the ifea

#

should’ve thrown in ruthless reflex for 100% dodge chance

verbal nacelle
#

Ooh, smart. I think I ended up with 99.6%, just needed one more clear with the plume or a higher rarity greater evasion. But yeah, ruthless would have been easier

plain river
#

Could’ve sworn the cap for plume was like 39.6 or soemthing

#

in terms of that’s max rooms

verbal nacelle
#

I only had 33.6% on the plume. Greater evasion gave 15%, zag fists gave another 15%, then epic second wind gave 36%

#

Epic greater evasion for 20% instead of blue for 15%, or one more chamber with the plume would have pushed it over 100%. But even at 99.6%, its almost impossible to die

silent shore
#

i get more legendaries with god's pride than with god's legacy

plain river
silent shore
#

exactly

plain river
#

but like gods pride is just better

silent shore
#

i noticed

plain river
#

Duos are consistent enough without legacy, but having your boons be epic is massive

#

particularly the boost for chaos and hermes who already have worsened rarity odds, the epic boost goes even farther

#

and their good boons are just more impacted by rarity

ivory estuary
#

bro what are some tips for fighting charon, he literally ended my run before the first boss cuz his dmg is super high

plain river
#

best way to get better at the fight is to take the bag whenever whereever

#

if you take it early, great, you get way more value since you have the 20% discount for longer, and if you lose who cares, you were 6 chambers in

#

if you fight him in elysium you’re way way stronger so you can blitz him down and his hits are less deadly

#

tl:dr so the main thing to get better at the fight is just doing the fight as often as possible

#

spend some time in fights just learning his telegraphs and timings to dodge moves

#

solely focus on dodging and learning rather than dealing damage

uneven birch
#

I found charon fight a lot more doable and safe if you have a ranged build. Bows do great. He has some really rough and quick punishes if you overstay your welcome near him

#

He really doesn't do much if you stay some distance away

#

I've not fought him much, but I pretty much only succeeded if I got the bag late in the run. He's just very unforgiving early on

Really depends on the weapons.
Sword is nemesis crit build with Artemis and Aphrodite
Spear is (and this is VERY personal) an Achilles ice wine build. Most people would say smt like lightning strike and tidal dash I think.
Shield would be Flood Flare Beowulf with mirage shot.
Bow would be crit Rama with Zeus flourish.
Firsts (my main), would be merciful end on aspect of Demeter.
Rail would be aspect of eris Zeus strike, Artemis special, tidal dash

#

Imma need to go now to sleep, so please ask anyone else to specify the builds: they’re all pretty standard.
Except ice wine and maybe the spear as a whole

No shattered shackle boosts core boons which slots havent been filled, u can run some boon on your attack and nothing on special, and your special will be boosted whereas your attack wont be

I see, thanks! yea I new about the buff destribution overall, just got confused or misled by the wording. Technically Urge to Kill is a "Boon" and is "empowering" attack/special/cast so...

Anyone got some fun Lucifer aspect builds?I was using one earlier but Hades suddenly decided to let me through without a fight so I didn't get to test it against him lol

But there are good low blood aspects: Nemesis sword gets half of its total crit chance with just the initial blood, Hera (with certain Casts) and Rama are good with low blood

nemesis, hera and zeus shield all get their main mechanic at level 1

God pool
When you take a boon from a new god they are added to a pool.
-this pool can contain 4 gods-
Chaos and Hermes boons don't count for this
Once 4 gods are taken in this pool, the rest will disappear from the run. (As a note, selling all boons from a god will not remove the god from your pool.

What this means for runs is that you have better chances at seeing the gods you do care about and their duos. Before the good pool is closed you have a 1 in 7* ||or 8 once demeter is unlocked|| to be the god you want, with the pool closed, you increase your chance to 1 in 4.

How to break god pool cap
-Using a god keepsake of a god not in pool will force the god regardless and add them to the pool.
-On occasions, you can enter a midshop with 3 gods, buy your 4th god and have a 5th god in the exit door
-enter the last area with 3 or less gods and every god could be offered
Note: Breaking the god cap is usually not that useful as it just means less chances to get who you want again but if you really need that duo/divine dash then it is an option.

plain river
#

So it was on the luckier end of things

gritty comet
proper furnace

hm I should add that info lol

Yarn does tho

So the answer is kinda?

Because the shop item increases duo odds but not the duo

plain river
#

Absolutely want hunters mark from artemis, and pressure points and support fire are added scaling

#

You’re essentially going to be dash-strike dashstrike special -> repeat

#

You want dash strike damage and strike damage from chaos, and special damage if you don’t see those or if it’s a truly massive modifier

#

Hermes is hyper sprint -> rush delivery for big damage additive, or greatest reflex for more dash strikes

#

for random gods you find, zeus call is pretty solid here, especially when you can open smouldering air through aphrodite

#

ares has battle rage which gives you a massive damage boost to your next strike or special after a kill

#

dionysus again has a dps call, and strong drink is damage scaling

worn dagger
plain river
#

chaos pretty much plays into every weapon

it’s a free room with massive potential for damage boosts

You should consult which curse you’re going to get when you pick you boon though

worn dagger
plain river

yes

#

poms on tidal dash also massively increase it’s damage btw

empty plume

They just get pushed forward?

plain river
#

nope

#

they’re just different rewards

#

hermes is like an obol/ heart and hammer in terms of reward generation where he’s an entirely seperate thing from regular god boons

charred hamlet
#

Doesnt he have dialogue where he mentions you mighta been expecting someone else

plain river
#

where regular god boons are pulled as a god boon first and then the god is chosen after

brazen grail
#

When pooling for Olympian boons the game doesn’t consider Hermes one of them

plain river
#

hermes boons are entirely seperate in the bag of rewards the game can pull from

charred hamlet
#

Gotcha

#

Tho he does have dialogue if you have another gods keepsake tho

plain river
#

that’s why they can supercede internally anyways

brazen grail
plain river
#

not specifically him taking over a boon that should’ve been someone else

charred hamlet
#

Thats neat

#

Yo, what is the best bow aspect for heat? What about speed?

#

@plain river

#

Im gonna try rama

#

Seems like the hardest aspect but according to the guide found in this dc its "insanely good for heat"

frank goblet
#

rama has stupid high damage outputs even at really high heat

#

hera has high damage outputs but falls off on high heat

empty plume
#

What about

#

Speed at high heat

#

My first ever attenpt at rama at the highest heat ive ever done was only 3 mins slower than my fastest with chiron

frank goblet
#

(the unmodded 50 speed record is faster than the modded lmao)

#

my favorite sword boon is thee one where you hold the button down to attack. i call it 'the chainsaw'

empty plume
#

Alr thanks

#

Trying rama rn. Feels slower but is faster at the same time lol

Which weapon do you guys use to beat hades after the hall of Styx?

tight basin
#

Whatever you're most comfortable with

#

All are pretty viable

waxen dragon
#

I tried to use Chiron with. Demeter build and didn't quite make it but managed it with a nemesis build though I was lucky in nemesis to get killing freeze, dash, winter harvest as it was tight.

#

Seems like Demeter build tends to depend on killing freeze, and if possible winter harvest. Failed with Demeter fist

Demeter skills seem to really need the artic blast, killing freeze it seems unless I'm missing something? I barely cleared a run with Rama

24 aspects

#

and only one has a single build that cares about getting dem specifically

#

and it’s not even for a core boon from her

#

It’s for snow burst

#

I can’t be 100% sure, I’m not a fan of the two

plain river
#

Aphro cast and snow burst from demeter to prok priv status

#

that’s legimately the only non-meme build that actively takes demeter

#

pretty consistent, very solid damage

It’s in the name

Ice wine exists tho! The only time I willingly seek Demeter.

plain river
#

Ice Wine is still a trade-off of functionality

rotund sluice
#

Hm?

plain river
#

being able to prefire your casts for waves and phases

#

prior to getting ice wine

#

You lose that ability when you take the monkey paw speed

rotund sluice
#

Tbf, the “monkey paw speed” lets you actually reliably hit your shots and increase your damage

#

Plus I find it insanely fun with Achilles

#

Literally my fav Achilles build

#

But admittedly it’s prolly a b tier boon

waxen dragon
rotund sluice
#

Yes, but also very weapons a melee weapon

rotund sluice
#

Anyway imma go sleep cya

plain river
#

600 unit radius is not melee range

#

I don’t actually have a clip with snow burst on me but I have one with lightning bolts with a 598 unit radius

#

which is just barely shy of snow burst

#

If you’re playing bow your targets should be able to be hit within that distance to you

#

It’s mid-range not melee range

plain river
#

Pretty much every Hades weapon functions just as well if not better in melee range, aside from like Guan-Yu and Chiron I suppose

charred hamlet
#

Tbh even chiron wants mid range

#

Otherwise your arrows could go into walls or pillars

#

Pretty annoying issue in 4th area

Is sword special->dash attack->dash attack or special->dash attack->special

the charge is still there for the dash-strike but it’s 50% faster

What’s a good attack boon for Hera bow?

plain river
#

on the whole it’s usually artemis given the option, between mirage shot, heart rend and lightning rod and the absurd hammer +% you get to really make that crit damage work for you

#

And like all her secondaries help out

#

her generic secondaries like pressure points / hunters mark / support fire pop off, you can get exit wounds for extra boss damage, and fully loaded is also like right there

rough blade
#

artemis best girl
artemis boons > snow burst imo especially when snow burst is so hard to find (it ain't a core boon)

#

I sometimes run deadly reversal
your special is kinda dead on hera anyways so it's fine placing athena special to open the duo
your crit chance shoot up and you're very happy when crush shot crits zagluv

#

whats best weapon to use for a posiden dash build? like smth to weave inbetween dashes sometimes

#

or just use whichever weapon has a darkness boost for the run

rotund sluice
#

Poseidon dash is more a build maker than a build itself

#

Just slap it on anything except maybe the bow (even then that could work) and it’s good

#

But it’s not something you want to build purely around

abstract sluice
#

i mean ive jsut been doing posiden and sometimes get the thor lighting on dash thing to have both

#

and it kinda destroys everything

rotund sluice
#

Yup

#

Sea storm?

#

That can definitely boosts your dash damage by smiting them with lightning

plain river
#

Sea storm is the zeus/pos duo boon that makes your knockback effects drop lightning

#

it was too strong when tidal dash opened it so you need a different pos core to find it

I've kind of liked pos dash on bow because bow takes a little time to hit groups of enemies and the dash buys you that time
