To fix the spawning mid-run:

• Start up the game
• Rename Profile1_temp.sav to Profile1_temp_old.sav
• Open the "Play" menu, it should say "House of Hades"

Turn off V-sync and limit fps at AMD software make thing even worse for me.

Hi. I just bought Hades on macOS. I wanted to use my controller to play (Steelseries Nimbus+) but it's not recognized by the game (no reaction to any button, can't remap any action to any button either). My controller works fine with games like Broforce or Hollow Knight, also launched thru Steam. It's so much not working that it feels like I've stupidly missed something somewhere...

Alright so

The FIRST problem I had in my save was that I was stuck on elysium

I couldn't progress

even if I gave up,it still sent me back to elysium again.

So I renamed my Profile1_Temp.sav file to Profile1.sav

and now I had 2 of same file

after doing that,the game sent me back to the save the date was 13 february on

and that didn't progress either

regardless of my runs

it would send me back to home with no progress again

I renamed my profile1.sav's location "Home" to "Home" again cuz I wanted to see if something would change

my save got corrupted

so I renamed the "Profile1(2).sav" to "Profile1_Temp.sav"

and now I am back to the first problem

alright, so this might not be a major bug but in the 'codex of the underworld' it says 'learn more by vanquishing theseus: 13' (same with asterius which says 9) seems to be stuck for me, since I have already done that more than 50 times in my 200+ escape attempts. Doesn't matter how many times i beat them, when i come back to check it always says the same thing. As for i can't get the full codex entry for neither theseus and asterius. I think there might be something to with the game files since the numbers are stuck specifically.

Hiii, I barely reach the minimum requirements of Hades and I know there is a limit on how much optimisation me as an user can do... I followed the guides that are on #h1-tech-fixes adding the launch options that are recommended on those cases (image attached) and I can run the game between 40 - 50 fps... But I wanted to know two things... Are there more optimisation options and two... In my second run I just arrived to the first boss and left them at low health so I didnt have the opportunity to experience the framerate on another areas of the game, and I think that maybe on the late game areas there will be more enemies with more effects on screen and those things... And if it goes down of 30 fps I would prefer to stop playing until I get a better computer, so I wanna know that, thanks for reading and for your help!

There are also /AutoDetectLowResAssets=true /UseLowResAssets=true. And I think you can use lower values for DrawBlendMax, so you can try that one by one as well. And make sure that any unnecessary programs are not running in the background.

@stray elm maybe you know. This might be an issue with discord. I googled ot an got a few results.

I have an issue with most games that require additional sound permissions to stream, hades and monster hunter rise are two examples. Both of which I crash when I stream but I'm fine when I'm not streaming.

League of legends does not require any additional permissions and I don't crash.

Im not sure if the correlation equals the causation, but let me know what you think

I haven't heard of Hades crashing on stream, but if it's also happening with MH:R, my guess is that your GPU might be overloading and crashing.
MH can be pretty graphically intense on its own (mine crashed...4 times in one night, it was painful), and while Hades shouldn't be as intense, it may still be doing more than League. That plus a Discord stream could do it on a weaker GPU or with the highest graphics, or if you have other GPU things running.

For audio specifically, I've heard of people not being able to stream audio to discord, and I unfortunately haven't found a fix for it. Based on one particular report, I think it may be on discord's end somehow.

Depends a bit based on your setup. x64 is the default, x64vk uses the Vulkan renderer, and x86 will be lower graphics and require less computer power.

Hello, I have an issue regarding lost progression. However renaming Profile1.sav into Profile1_old.sav (I don't remember the exact name but I followed the FAQ) and Profile1_sav.bak into Profile1.sav only partially solved my issue (recovered one run out of 5-6 😦 ), and all my temp files are dated from before my last hades session (which mean renaming any of them won't fix anything), can I really do anything to recover my progression?

I play on Steam and tried syncronizing with the cloud but it did not helped

I made a backup folder before doing the renaming shenanigans and it looks like this (I have not played since then) (it looks like it won't load for some reason?)

You should only need Profile1.sav, but the rest will be autogenerated anyway

And I'd grab the rest as backups just in case

i've followed the instruction to recover it (renaming profile1.sav.bak to profile1.sav & renaming profile1_temp.sav.bak to profile1_temp.sav) , but instead of showing my lastest save (9 march 2022), it shows my very first save (7 march 2022)

Hi have a look in the wiki for those characters to check if you've met all the requirements needed to progress with their stories and favours: https://hades.fandom.com/wiki/Characters

With Sisyphus and Bouldy, most likely you need to talk to Bouldy to push their story forward.

In general, it does take some time to progress further sometimes, so be patient and keep playing :).

You can also verify the game files integrity to make sure it's all good there.

@abstract granite I think the launch option /RequireFocusToUpdate=false should do the trick - the game won't pause when alt tabbing and should remain maximized. This launch option you put in a field in the launcher your using (Epic or Steam) rather than what I assume is a file's command line? Instruction how to add launch options is explained in #h1-tech-fixes just in case you need it

I've completed the bond requirements and met all three of these gods so much that they're giving me placeholder voicelines on first meeting, I've gotten the "should i shut up" message from hermes several times at this point
I have 7 bonds that costed 11 ambrosia, I've gotten all of the Zeus voicelines from the other gods and talked to hades about him multiple times, Lambent plume is maxed

For Hermes, I know that you need to || talk to him with the Plume, not just have it maxed. ||

I've done this every time i've walked into Asphodel for the last 20 runs

I start run with overflowing cup or thunder sign to talk to Zeus/Dionysus, and i get a placeholder line each time

I beat tartarus

I do first 2 or 3 rooms of asphodel with max plume until I've met hermes twice, I get a placeholder voice line
I go into lava to reset because the only thing i care about in elysium is the Patroclus storyline, and he's also stopped giving me story messages. I've been waiting on "Risk it all" for like 30 runs and I have Achilles, Nyx, Pat and Hades either maxed or up to the lock

this has been 20something runs over several days

I've also freed Orpheus, so i know its not the progression block from needing to have freed at least one other person before going for Achilles contract

I'm only here because the instructions on the wiki have gotten me nowhere over the last week and i just want to beat the game

Hmm, alright. I'm not totally sure, but I might actually suggest speaking to some of the other gods--it's possible one of them is gating something. You could also try verifying file integrity.

Heyo! To my knowledge, Thanatos' event is just triggered by conversations with him, both on a run and at the House. It's possible that another main-line story event is ongoing however, which may take precedence over Than's story

as far as i know there shouldnt be, ive done ||the family reunion and the only other story line there should be right now is nyx and chaos, but i just purchased the gate|| AND that shouldnt interfere with Thanatos as i do not believe he participates in such a storyline

When launching the grenade launcher it regularly happens that it switches the target completely shortly before it lands. I also have it on video to make it clearer.

Also in the video the auto aim was already on the target, I'd assume that my character would turn towards it as well, but instead he hits the wall with the launcher.

had a weird thing happen on PC
started the game, and loaded with Zag coming into his room from the hallway
started a run, quit out halfway, and spawned in the room again (not the courtyard)
did a few more runs, quit out in the hall, started the game again and still spawned in the bedroom, with no record of the runs I did
Then quit out, loaded another save, and quit that save. This ended up overwriting that save's info with the first save. Tried with another save and the same thing happened. so now I have 3 save slots with the same information

(1) I tried to continue Achilles quest. I gave him full nectar and I also found quest stuff (i also finished other contracts)… but his contract doesn’t appear on the house contractor’s list.

Hi, quick question -

I've reached ||the fight against Hades|| and died there. For my next run I thought I'd try a run with the 'Longer Runs' mod, which adds chambers. I also have a chamber count in the corner of my screen.

I'm now in Asphodel, beat chamber 53 and as I got onto the boat for chamber 54 Zagreus said "I've never got this far before". Obviously, I've gotten physically further in the game but I'm guessing it judges how far you've got (for Zagreus to say that phrase) by chamber count rather than physical distance, which makes sense.

My question is: am I risking breaking game progress by playing a modded run with additional chambers added? As in, if a certain milestone is unlocked by reaching a certain point, but the game recognises you having reached that point by chamber count rather than physical progress, am I risking unlocking something earlier than I should because my run has an inflated chamber count?

Example (theoretical, with chamber numbers made up):

• You only encounter boons from ||Demeter|| after ||reaching the surface and fighting Hades||
• Normally, that fight is at chamber 53
• A brand new player starts the game, does a modded run with 80 additional chambers and ultimately dies in chamber 53, without even leaving Tartarus or encountering ||Meg||

As far as I am aware, the game will not think you have reached progress points despite having that many rooms, as they're triggered with specific rooms/conversations.

That being said, there is a small risk inherent with any modding that some things may not work properly.

The in-game art are not 3d-models, though I know some people have made their own models of them. You could search through #fan-works , and maybe ask in the modding server (link pinned in #self-promotion )

My second file is gone and first file is copied there. I delete it but it keeps coming back. How can i fix this?

In #h1-tech-fixes If You Unexpectedly Lose Saved Progress section are listed steps explaining how to try recover lost save progress if that's a fix you're looking for.

If you want to permanently delete that save file, you need to delete the files from Documents/Saved Games/Hades while the game is open on Steam (should also work for Epic), it'll recognize you don't want them anymore and remove them from the cloud (after you close the client). I'd do a backup of those files before that in case something goes wrong.

Ok, try disconnecting all controllers and ensuring all controller devices are removed from the Device Manager. Then, reconnect your primary controller and try again. The game will always read the controller in slot 1.

The casts will come back to Zag automatically after some time. There are some places in game where they can't be reached and you need to wait for them to come back.

yesterday i played a few hours of hades and got my first completed run, which i was proud of and really looking forward to exploring unlocked features
however, starting the game up today it loads from the 26th instead of 27th
ive already done the renaming temp file thing but there doesnt seem to be any save beyond the 25th

dont be depressed , 1 win does not mean as much as you think. just focus on improving and maxing the mirror, and once you are good enough, you will win the game at least 10+/20+ times if not more. you need to win a lot of times anyway to finish the main story.

Hey SG. I've been playing Hades on an ultra-wide 3840x1600 monitor (with the artwork on the screen sides - very nice). I had to use a smaller screen temporarily, but since I've gone back to the ultra-wide, I can't seem to change the resolution back. As you can see in the screenshot, the resolution settings only allow going up to 2560x1600. Any tips?

That hammer upgrade is working properly here, you can see when you launch the bombs they sit on the ground and they sort of blink/breath, the upgraded range is on that mechanic not on the actual size of the projectile when launched

Upgrade is working, yes, but not affecting "aim size texture"

Please consider moving Save Data and other generated data, to My Documents. That way those who move their Documents location don't need to worry about Save Data being lost if they were to ever format and reinstall their operating system drive.

Currently the game stores Save Data to this location:
C:\Users\username\Documents\Saved Games\Hades\

I have moved where my Documents folder is located to D:\Documents\ but the game continues to store Save Data to C:\Users\username\Documents\Saved Games\Hades\

Retrieve the path from the Personal string located here:

I'm having the same problem. I also got it through the game pass and I launch it through the xbox app. My windows is 11 rather than 10 though. I've reinstalled, repaired, and restarted both hades and the xbox app but it seems to do nothing. Surprisingly looking it up showed no results on how to fix it which is frustrating.
