God Mode and non-God Mode clear data is stored separately; overall stats like total clears and clear streaks shouldn't be affected. Toggling it back on/off and clearing another run should restore the other set of clear data

I left it in for a very long period of time (had other things to do), the game took way longer than usual to start up. But when I turned on my PC this morning and started playing, it went back to normal.

As in, it just started up normally. Didn’t take a ridiculously long period of time to start, it took <1min. Last night, it took like 5mins

@steady willow I found out that if I want to record Hades with OBS I need to have OBS opened first and then launch Hades, and OBS will then detect Hades. Sometimes I need to fiddle with Window Capture Mode in OBS (change it from Hades to something else and then back again). I'm glad it worked for you in the end! 🙂
@faint jewel AH ok! It seemed like something that wouldnt have mattered but I definitely have learned that OBS is essentially a "1 way street" in terms of methods. Good to know, thanks. :) part of streaming is learning as you go.

I do not have a screenshot at hand but I encountered the same earlier today. Artemis' Dash attack showed up in the same white font. Also in Asphodel after Barge of Death.
The values were correct.

Not working ~ guess the next beta update for Steam will help, in this week maybe. because yeah, they only started initial support, not even calling it PS5 control. "Added initial input support for the PS5 DualSense controller. Advanced features such as rumble, trackpad, and gyro are not yet supported."

@lavish hemlock that's something you'll need to figure out for yourself--generally, I stuck to about 2-3 runs average when I was playing regularly (which came out to 3-4 hours average, not all of which was actively playing).

Personal recommendation, especially if you're experiencing wrist pain, is to take it easy for a bit (hour or so at most, until your wrist stops hurting), and potentially look into getting a gaming/technical wrist compress/brace if it continues acting up (keep in mind that's not a medical recommendation, just a personal one based on my limited knowledge)

@soft bough are you absolutely sure you got ||all the keepsakes||? Both of those have a significant number of unlocks on both Steam and Epic, although there was a known bug with Well Stocked that was fixed mid-October. You can report it in-game using F10

Steam controller menu has an option to invert a/b and x/y inputs so the Switch face buttons match Xbox prompts

You can also rebind this on a per-game basis through controller configurations in-game

Okay, this looks like a bug we are actively working to fix. A current workaround is to buy exactly 9 items during your run, at which point it might unlock at the end of your run. Otherwise, we hope to have this fixed in a patch soon!

I'll note, the in-game icons will likely still be backwards—that's a known issue. However, the buttons themselves shouldn't be inverted

On Steam:
· Right-click on Hades in your Steam Library
· Select 'Properties...', then select the 'Local Files' tab
· Select 'Verify Integrity of Game Files...'

On Epic Games Store:
· Locate Hades in your Library
· Click the three-dots symbol near the game title, and select 'Verify'

Hey tech support, I hit a weird bug for the first time since playing this game in early beta. only 1/10 of the game audio would work. The music would work in some rooms, but the SFX, and the character voices were not working. Strangely enough the monster grunts and zagreus' grunts would work.

Even more strange, when I went into the settings and adjusted volume, each slider would appropriately respond with increasing or decreasing audio, but it would seemingly mute itself when I returned to the game proper.

I tried resetting the settings, restarting the game/my computer, updating audio drivers, unplugging my controller

Alright, you could also try backing up and then deleting Profile1.sjson, located in Documents/Saved Games/Hades (or Profile2, 3, 4, whichever one you're using)

No. I deactivated Steam's controller support in steam controller settings, because if I activate it, Hades stops responding to ANY controller button press.

I found this ( https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/1754653602250761097/?ctp=2 ) which didn't end up being particularly helpful except for the last comment, which mentions that setting it up as an xBox worked, except for the menu buttons still being swapped. So it sounds like it may be an issue either with Steam's interface or 8bitdo's firmware. What happens when you try using it with other games?

We got it to work! Ended up needing to clear most of the save files from the saved games folder, but got the game back up and running with game progress intact

Hey, I recently cleared Hades on Extreme Measures 4 while holding the Cosmic Egg, but the respective Prophecy given to me by Chaos to beat Hades with the Cosmic Egg didn't complete? I have talked to Chaos again after the fact, and still nothing? Am I missing a step here, or is this bugged?

It's weird becouse the only change that could have altered the saves was the fact that today I installed Dropbox and my documents moved to a Dropbox bin, but still, when I launched Hades, my save was there, I could play the game, but the save was not up to date, it's weird

Not really--it's not a bug so much as an unfortunate result of how the save system is set up. If you'd like, you could get a save from someone in the community, as a way to recover some of your progress?

Also, if you submitted a bug report recently with some form of identifying information, the devs may be able to recover your save from that

is there any way for, with the weapon ||gilg's claws to make it maybe with an option/toggle so the dash doesn't just keep happening when you hold dash? like, it makes things feel clunky on pc when, normally dashes are you press button and dash, but then on these you dont tap lightly enough and suddenly zag's five screens away and blown the whole dash repertoire||

So I died against Minos as a mini-boss halfway through Elysium. After that my laptop/game lagged like crazy and I had to restart it because I wasn't appearing in the House. Completely close out the game and go into play my 1st save slot, the screen just stays completely black and the bug report screen pops up. I can hit Esc to bring up the pause menu while on this black screen. I was also able to make a new save in the 2nd slot and play but I don't want to lose all my progress in my 1st slot which seems to be experiencing a black screen of death. I tried the Profile1 backup/delete solution but nothing came of it. My graphics drivers are fine, steam start up is fine, I've even run it as administrator.

i like how it bounces a lot but no i remember like at least three times where it'd take a WHILE to get back and one of them i could see it get stuck in some part of the map's border? like elysium stuck in a corner like where a column meets the wall facing the player? like the fourth walls

@soft bough Currently there is no way to delete a save slot, it can only be overwritten by a new one. Unless you want to disable the cloud saves, then you can manually delete a save slot via Saved Games folder.

what I think might be happening is the game thinks your controller is disconnecting briefly, and pauses in response (as though the controller had died, as a safety measure - not 100% sure though)

having a weird issue with the hades client. not sure what caused it but now whenever i try opening the hades client (as administrator, vulcan, 32bit, 64bit, etc) the client is running and i can hear the menu music but i can't actually tab into the window

@winged swan your cast gains all backstab bonuses, however Hammers tend to affect the base stats of the weapon, which may not be included in Parting Shot. I'd ask in #h1-builds-and-combat , you're more likely to get a certain answer there

hey guys, I just had a quick look at the backlog, but I just received my ps5 controller, it works fine on rocket league and wanted to try hades, but saddly it is not detected, previously I was playing with a ps4 controller that worked fine, so I am wondering if there is anything special to do about it or just wait until it is made compatible ( I am going to try out the /PS4Gamepad=true option and see )

Is it a persistent thing or happened in a specific place/situation? Have you tried pressing the button responsible for showing the Boon Info? Health and all Resources you have should show then (I don't have a Switch so it might be different than on PC though...)

All that info will hide when you're idle for some time, but should come back once you move.

It's just weird that it has happened a second time in a row on a completely new save. I don't think the problem is the settings, from what I've seen Hades can get hitched after the death animation and spawning you in the blood pool. But then it saves on the black screen without Zag walking out of the blood pool. So your save is stuck on the black screen no matter how many times you reload it or the like.

Cause the save says I'm in the house of hades, but Zag didn't step out of the blood pool before it hitched and saved, so I don't think it's registering Zag anywhere and leaves you on a black screen. Cause it says I can't give up and I can activate the pause menu just fine, while certain other sounds play and function as normal.

This might be relevant, I manually installed a mod that made everything in the exchange shop in the lounge free by changing the store date LUA file. Only after I installed that did I first encounter this bug. My first save file had about 50 escape attempts. This new one has 11 and I've run into the bug again, and still have the modified StoreDate file. Could that be the cause somehow? I still have the original file backed up.

But yeah, yesterday Zag died cause I was doing suicide runs to get back to the progression point I was at before. After Zag's death animation the screen went black, the game hitched, and then said there was a bug to report and he never walked out of the blood pool. I can open the pause menu and whenever I load the save file the screen is still black.

Yea, it happens for me as well, when Than is in Elysium with shooting traps they will start shooting immediately. However, I don't think they should damage you, just push you aside.

Not sure if i’m in the right channel, or if this has even been answered. Sorry if i’m in the wrong. Anyways. i’ve got all the prerequisites for unlocking Aspect of Lucifer, but I can’t get the voice line to come up so I can unlock the aspect. Is it full RNG, or am I missing something? So far I have 5 titan blood invested into the two non-zag aspects. I unlocked guan-you aspect and have beaten hades. Any answer is helpful, I just got sick of looking through reddit, I think I lost a few brain cells.

Shouldn't need a specific aspect. And running his aspect shouldn't have messed with anything. Though, if you're still getting "important" dialogue from him about other stuff (if the boon shakes loudly and has some extra effects when you pick it up), that could be slowing it down

Is there any way to brute force Hades to use the Playstation button prompts? I'm using a Dualsense through Steam Big Picture mode but it defaults to the xbox buttons and unchecking Playstation support in steam settings stops the controller from working

First, I am playing Hades on a Nintendo switch version 1.36054. The error occurred following a successful run. I paid 500 Darkness to the Wretched Broker as part of a special to receive one ambrosia. Prior to the transaction I had two ambrosia in my inventory, following the transaction I had one Ambrosia instead of three. Please let me know if there are any additional details that I can provide.

Apple Silicon version not launching :: Hades Technical Support

Hello, I am excited to get to play this game, but unfortunately I haven't been able to launch the Steam version successfully on my Apple Silicon MacBook Pro. It's quite normal that Hades doesn't work on the M1 processor. It's ARM one and Hades doesn't have native support for ARM.

I think that people who buy new technology should aware that not only Hades, but also many more software will not work on the M1.

Tho I think that maybe SGG could build ARM native version as Switch is ARM as well. Just my guess.

for what it's worth, it also has problems on the ARM-based surface pro x in x86 emulation even though the pro x supports directx fine. it gives an error that it can't allocate memory. not expecting anything different but since you're mentioning the M1 i figured it's at least worth noting

Idk how hades work, but I think it create kind of virtual machine. And it work on it.

If you're able to send a F10 report while it happens then do it, as it will give devs the necessary information to identify the problem.

Ok, next I'd suggest to start a game on a new Save Slot and see if it works properly - this might let us know if there's something wrong with your save or it's something else.

Updated my Mac yesterday to the new MAC Sur and this started happening when I booted up the game. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this I already restarted my Mac

@lethal phoenix I've heard of some issues with the game on Mac Sur, but you can try verifying file integrity to start

@frosty tiger could you try backing up and then deleting Profile1.sjson? And if that doesn't work, could you try:

back up and delete Profile1.sav
rename Profile1.sav.bak1 to Profile1.sav

If you don't have Profile1.sav.bak1, could you send me a screenshot of your saves folder?

All of these files are located in Documents/Saved Games/Hades

i found on the internet that my problem occurs on switch too, but i'm trying in reinstall, change resolution, and other ways but i found nothing, i started a second game for patienting but it's annoying to loose so many hours (even more when i suck to finish 3 lmao)

@last kettle hello, thank you for looking into my case. Following playing the game further, I discovered that the problem was user error not a bug in the game. The special was to receive 500 darkness in return for 1 Ambrosia but I interpreted the reverse. The reduction from two Ambrosia to one was correct.

You could try manually setting your resolution using launch options?

/x= /y=, where your resolution is after each equals sign =

hello! i’ve been given the night and darkness prophecy quest by nyx, and the house contractor has an exclamation mark over its head, but the ||sigil work order|| is nowhere to be found

whenever i leave the room and reenter it, the contractor continues to have that exclamation mark which seems to indicate a new contractor order but the work order isn’t appearing?

Should work ;). Usually, quest-related items appear after doing a run. But yeah, Contractor shouldn't have a Mark over his head then, though.

It's the "investment" Mirror/Darkness crash from launch. @frosty tiger That bug was patched months ago, update your game to the latest version and it will resolve.

It's related to Darkness invested in the Mirror, and the alternate powerups on the other "side" of the Mirror.

Hi! I downloaded hades and the game won’t open? Like I click the play button on steam and it doesn’t launch at all!! I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, as well at restarting my cpu multiple times. I tried all of the fixes that involved adding things to the launch options. I tried moving the game files out of the local files and onto the desktop and sifting through them, and I tried disabling the steam overlay.

And I tried verifying the integrity of the game files and restarting my laptop!
