hello, can someone help, my game randomly freezes during an escape attempt. most likely when picking up boons. and then it goes back to normal. this happens almost every encounter. i tried everything i can find in the #h1-tech-fixes . still none 😦

Heyo! You most likely need to whitelist it with Windows Controlled Folder Access

Hello, I am experiencing issues with my Hades game not saving any progress or updating the previous save file. I went through the Steam Community's FAQ list that was posted, but I am not able to either progress on an old save OR start a new save file.

Certainly! I have have a PC with Windows 11. I am trying to play the game on steam.

1. I have made sure Hades is not being blocked by antivirus
2. I do not have a cloud sync enabled on my computer
3. I have tried to move the game save to a new location

I also tried updating my computer to the latest version of windows, updating steam, uninstalling and reinstalling Hades, and turning steam cloud sync off.

if you're still in the run you can check your boons to see if you don't have bounty, otherwise you could check in the run history if you already have that unlocked

I lost a few hours of progress which included Persephone's return and a failed escape attempt. I checked the saved games directory, tried all the backups, but found nothing. The only saves present are those before Persephone's return. I got the steam achievement however. Is there a way to recover the save?

Just to update, it happened a second time. I lost a day of progress. It seemed to be triggered by giving up an attempt. I unlocked the aspect of lucifer, reunited nyx and chaos, and then suddenly it's all gone. I'll send you my hades saved game folder.

Some characters have additional dialogues when you use Heat, so it may speed up some story dialogue

And yes, it's normal for some dialogues to be a bit delayed--the game pulls from a large pool of possible dialogues, and some are weighted more heavily than others

No worries about the ping ^.^ I'm not sure, to be perfectly honest. There are levels of randomization to how the dialogue pool is handled, and it's very possible that some other dialogue from someone else needs to happen first

If that doesn't work, I'd suggest checking if your graphics driver is fully up to date.

You could also try deleting the Profile1.sjson file (it just contains your settings), located in Documents / Saved Games / Hades

Hi! Sorry for the trouble, having some sudden issues with the game. Not sure what caused it.

For the first time ever, steam asked how I would like to launch the game (directx, vulcan, 32 bit)

The default, directx, appears to just be broken. Extremely choppy, 40-50fps. 32 bit seems to perform normally-ish

Except now all of the in-game character models are extremely low rez and blurry. Also, when I first speak to any character, their first line doesn’t trigger the voice acting. Very strange

well like I said, when I first got it, everything was going fine. then i got curious of what the FPS was on so i turned the FPS counter on in-game and I think that’s when it started to stutter and then drop from 120 to 60 FPS at certain parts of the game.

Hello, I've been having some issues with Hades as of late even though none of this has happened in my first 80 hours of playing.

So far I've tried the following fixes:

• verify integrity of steam files (no issues found)
• uninstall, reboot, and reinstall
• shut down, unplugged, and discharge capacitors before rebooting
• reseating the gpu in pcie slot
• updating graphics, chipsets, and device drivers
• closed all other unnecessary programs

My last resorts are using DDU and completely reinstalling from scratch, which would be a hassle, and to reinstall windows, which is even more of a hassle

Heyo! When you start the game up through Steam, there should be a popup for selecting a startup option. Have you tested 32x or Vulkan?

If those don't show up, you can access them in the Steam Library -> Properties -> Launch Options

it didnt before tho, so maybe its a band aid fix

turns out any streaming programs (ie zoom, netflix, discord) open on my second monitor cause the stuttering and artifacting

as soon as i move the window thats streaming content to my main display it works fine regardless of whether its visible or not behind/next to hades

very very odd but i assume it has to do with display upscaling

You'll want the steps for "Perda de progresso no arquivo salvo". Following the steps about renaming the save files may allow you to recover your progress.

Most likely, you also need to whitelist the game with your antivirus and/or Windows Controlled Folder Access / Windows Defender (see the steps under "O progresso não é salvo"). That should prevent this from happening again

Well I tried this and got one folder named random numbers and letters inside that folder it wrote GamerProfile.xml and I tried copy pasting to the Steam saves folder with renaming it to Profile1.sav and all the other ones but whenever I do that it says save files corrupted I think I got the wrong one before the game was deleted from Xbox Game Pass and now the right ones ain't there the files I mean which writes Supergiangamesllc. and the save files there are not there anymore since it got deleted from The Xbox Game Pass.

As far as I'm aware, the files are still stored in Microsoft's cloud; however, that is not directly accessible, so the only way that I know of to get the files would be to purchase the game through the Xbox store. I believe you could still refund the game on Xbox after that though.

Hello, I am on GamePass Xbox PC and I just lost my saved game for the second time. ~300 hours the first time, now ~35 hours. I didn't do anything with the saves; only thing I can suspect is perhaps I turned off the computer before it could finish uploaded to cloud. Restarted later the same day last Friday night and the save slot was empty. I immediately backed up everything in my WGS folder but I haven't taken any action. Hoping you can advise. I own the game on GamePass, bought it when it first came to GP. I do not mind buying it on Steam and transferring over if you can help, GP seems to be very fickle.

That's just for specifically the Steam/Epic versions of the game. You could use a different folder to store a backup

The game does back up to the cloud, what happens sometimes is the GP version of the game fails to load those files when you start it up, and that's what the reinstall fixes

Hello! I am playing Hades on Steam Deck and I am having an issue where the display resolution does not change to the resolution of the display I am playing on when connected to an external display. For example, when I play on the Steam Deck itself the resolution is set to 1280 x 800 but the resolution does not change to 1920 x 1080 when I connect to my monitor before launching the game. I have the game resolution set to "Native" in the Steam properties, which for other games does adjust the game resolution to the external display's native resolution. Is there a way to force Hades to detect resolution when launching?

Heyo! You can try setting the launch option /AttemptHighDPI=true to enable other display options. If that doesn't work, you can manually set resolution using /X=1920 /Y=1080

I tried /AttemptHighDPI=true and it didn't seem to change anything for me, and setting the resolution manually worked on the external display but unfortunately also set the game resolution for the Deck's display to 1920 x 1080 which is too high. I could always change the resolution manually to 1920 x 1080 when connecting the Steam Deck to my external display but I was just wondering if there was a reason why it wouldn't change automatically.

Not asking for support; Just posting my experience solving something in case someone else searches for it, since I didn't find a direct answer.

I reinstalled my os (Manjaro, a linux distribution) and my save files were being a bit iffy. In spite of steam cloud being on, it hadn't stored anything (Presumably related to needing to use Proton to emulate the game).
On my previous install the saves were located in (user)/Documents/Saved Games/Hades, and those files were still there, but the game wasn't detecting those files.
Not fully sure why, but it seems it switched to saving in steamapps/compatdata/1145360/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/Saved Games/Hades, which I located with the help of this website: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Hades
Dropping my previous files into this directory made the files appear as expected.

In addition, I would recommend carefully checking anything that pops up when you go to start the game on either platform--there may be a message about a save conflict asking which version to use.

Most likely, starting Steam as Admin may be enough to fix the issue if the Cloud saves look correct.

Played it without changing any stuff on my pc like 2 days ago but I updated to 531.18 and its throwing a vulkan driver failure on launch

Hello! I've been playing Hades during this week on game pass via Xbox App on PC. When I launched the game my save was gone, so I read online people who uninstalled the game and then the xbox syncs up again with your cloud save. I tried to do that but for my surprise when I clicked on the game in Store there was no option to download it, just to buy it. The funny is that on my xbox series s I could sync up normally and play with my save. Then I entered Xbox website to see if the game left game pass, and I am not seeing the game on the list for pc game pass nor Console game pass. Did it really left? I haven't seen any news about that looking on google, and if so, why would it keep working on my xbox?

Heyo! Here're a couple things to try:

• Setting the launch option /UseMouse=false (instructions near the top of #h1-tech-fixes)
• Changing the controls to disable "Attack at Cursor"
• Rebinding attack to something on the keyboard (if you click with the mouse, it will unhide it)

The game doesn't support full twin-stick controls for keyboard (using WASD to move and Arrow Keys to attack), but if that's not what you're looking for anyway, this would work.

The mouse may also not be hidden the entire time, but it won't affect your gameplay, and at least some of the time it will be hidden. I would suggest moving the cursor to the corner of the screen before starting a run, so that it doesn't accidentally change what you're selecting in a menu when it reappears.

Hello! Coming here for some advice on a problem i'm having with Hades (PS4)

I've bought the game few days ago, started playing it yesterday. Ended up loving it a lot so I played for many hours. Did good amount of progress and item gathering, so on.

At like 2AM I decided to go to sleep. I was a bit unsure as to how this game saves, as i am more used to games where you manually save your games.

I was well out of Tartarus yesterday. I used the "quit" option, it said i would spawn back to the room i was in. That progress would be saved.

I wanted to play again today.... just to see a save file menu EMPTY. I didnt have anything saved, no codex, no improvements, nothing. Lost all the hours of game i did.

What the h even happened? Is it a common issue with this game? If so... i dont think ill take the risk of wasting ours on a game that ruins progress by not saving. Or did i do something wrong ?

Heyo! I'm very sorry to hear about that.

To my knowledge, the PS4 doesn't usually have saving issues, so I definitely wouldn't call it common.

If you want to give it another go, I'd suggest reinstalling the game if you got it digitally. Then play through until you get back to the House of Hades, and quit.

(The reason to go back to the house is you can always quit, there are points during a run where you can't)

Hello, after many hours on PC, I bought Hades for my Nintendo switch and after enabling cross-save, I checked my mirror of night and I saw it was completely blocked. I can still see the upgrades but I do not have them anymore (picture of my mirror below after trying to reset it, in french of course)

I think my save file is bugged. I can't progress achilles, sisyphus, orpheus, or nyx. this is my second full playthrough - first one was 100%. I suspect it might be bugged because I had to uninstall and reinstall a few times due to the gamepass save file bug.

Hello, I started up my game today to find that my saves were gone. They weren't deleted, instead, they were just replaced with older saves for no reason. I played the game last on the second save slot yesterday around 3 pm. I tried following the steps listed on hades' steam FAQ and looked at my save folder and renamed and moved some stuff around but I still do not have the correct save when I load up the game. I've attached a picture of my saved files along with the instructions listed on steam. For reference, the files that I think are the correct ones are the ones listed as modified yesterday at 2:43 pm (I've highlighted it in the screenshot). The saves that I keep seeing in the game regardless of what I do in the saved filed folder are the ones modified at 3:16 PM today. I was hoping someone could help me get back my old save in the game. I cleared an attempt for the first time on it yesterday.

PS: I know I said that the save was replaced by an older save and yet I'm trying to go back to a save from yesterday. That's because I played for a little while on the older save before realising it was old.

Is there a way to get dialogue/items to retrigger? I unlocked Achilles' prophecy to reunite him with patroclus and i remember the letter being in the shop and everything, but yesterday it wasn't in my shop anymore and its also no longer on my list of prophecies. I tried speaking with both again to see if it would do anything, but they had generic dialogue and i already gave them all the nectar and I can't give ambrosia due to the lock.

I'm playing on PC through Steam (windows if thats needed)
I double checked both the prophecy list and the shop on all tabs. The only Achilles prophecy thats there currently is the hidden aspect one, but I remember having both at the same time. The shop also doesnt have it in the unlocked sections either.

That's the only thing I've noticed. All my other prophecies were fine, and I didn't have any issue unlocking stuff prior to or after that. I completed Dusa's lounge prophecy to get the last diamonds I needed, and once I claimed them, when I went to check the letter was gone. I don't remember if it was there immediately before or not.

Hey there, I'm having issues with my game crashing on launch. it just goes to a black screen and crashes. I followed all the steps in #h1-tech-fixes and none of them are working.

about ~2 months ago i was able to play the game fine on the exact same machine and the only thing I can think of that's changed is graphics card drivers

oh sorry, didnt see it - well they always give a death defiance, so theres a bit of an exploit there - if you lose the SD and then pick up one of these, you will gain an additional death defiance which is used after the SD

Alright, and I do apologize for my delayed follow-up. If you'd like, the devs do have some pre-made save files, and I could send you one to get you closer to where you were. Since you have the game digitally, you should be able to set it up on PC and transfer that to your Xbox.

Hi tech support, there’s an issue with the game. I commented the problem in Steam and apparently I’m not the only one having this problem. After the recent uptade/patch, there are no saves in the game. Every time I quit the game and go back again the progress is lost. I was very worried at first but I’m not the only one. Hi, so I bought Hades on the Windows PC Xbox store
And I'm having a weird problem with my Nintendo Switch pro controller

Whenever I boot up the game, it'll turn my controller into a mouse. The trigger buttons are suddenly the left click and right click for a mouse and it stays that way even when I close the game. I have to disconnect the controller from Bluetooth to get it back to normal. This weird mouse mode also makes the pause button and dpad stop working, and the accidental mouse clicks whenever I push the left or right trigger make it hard to play the game.

Is there anyway I could fix this? My controller still works normal in my other games

Now whenever I select an option it pushes the a button twice, so like when I push options on the main menu instead of giving me a chance to see the options menu it just immediately pushes a again and opens the settings menu which is the first option on the options menu

Heyo! If I'm understanding what you need, this should help:

1. Start up the game
2. Move Profile1.sav and Profile1_temp.sav to a different folder
3. Copy the correct .sav file into Documents / Saved Games / Hades and rename it to Profile1.sav
4. Go to the "Play" menu and select your save

hi! i may be having similar problems to otheres here, but not sure. I normally play hades on my switch and have been doing so for quite a bit, especially recently. The other day I loaded up my save on PC (epic store) and it loaded up my most recent just fine. The next day, I loaded up Hades on my switch and didn't realize it was a super old version, back from 2022 (I've been playing on and off and I think the 2022 file is when I last played it on PC). I exited the game (it did save and sync) and checked the PC version. It, as expected, loaded the save that had just saved on my Switch, which is an old save (does this make sense?) So in this save I had only escaped twice, when my most recent save (now missing) I escaped 8 times. I looked into Saved games folder on PC and all the dates are old, with the exception of one file that says "Profile2.sjson" this file coincides with the last time I escaped. It's the only one that would, potentially, be my most recent save. Is there anyway to change this file to the correct path so it can be used as a save? Thank you so much for your time!

Heyo! Unfortunately, the .sjson file is for settings, not save data. If the correct save was originally on the Switch, it may not be recoverable since we can't directly access the save files there.

That being said, if you lost more progress than you'd want to play through again, the devs have some pre-made save files, and I can help find one that is hopefully closer to where you were.

For a save editor, you'd want to reach out to the modding community (link pinned in #self-promotion ). They may have something, I'm not certain. For the pre-made saves, they do explore some of the side quests—they were made from a playthrough of the game

Bought Hades on Steam.
Started playing and left the game went back into the game all the save slots are empty.
I don't understand what could have happened.
I added the Save file and the hades folder to the antivirus program as an exception.
I went into the game and ran again and died and the game was not saved again.

I have two unintended interactions

This is my current build.

Some combo of Aspect of Nemesis + greater haste + Double edge is causing double edge to either do nothing or at least not animate two attacks?

All the other multi attacks have resulted in more animation so I assume it's not doing the second attack.

Also, I just beat the Minortaur and the other guy.

Other guy died first, with one of my casts inside of him, and did not drop the cast on death. I raced all over the arena to be sure and maybe I missed it but I spent like a minute just not attacking the bull running laps to make sure it wasn't behind something.

Heyo! There isn't a way to directly transfer from Xbox PC to Switch, unfortunately. That being said, you could briefly get the game on Steam, use that to transfer your save to the Switch, and then refund it on Steam.
