That used to be the most popular strategy, yes.
Now they just reset for ME in first run.
Although for less experienced players getting into fresh file, doing it with the bow is still a decent strategy.
And yes, winning first run is a very difficult thing to do and not a lot of people have done that.

Dionysus' Aid is a bit finnicky and often only applies 5-6 stacks anyway with Low Tolerance. Should be 7 instances of Hangover application, but they don't always all hit. Not entirely sure why, could be just out of range.
