Yeah it is, but at the start, I get why a lot of people dont like it. the special is unwieldy for controller, and it can be difficult at first to keep track of the ammo. All that combined with the lack of flinching makes it a difficult weapon to first get used to.

rather than taking ones from other gods that delay progression on your main one. Does that make sense?

If you already have a "primary" boon from a god, that god can then start to offer secondary boons which power up the boon(s) you already have. so specialization can be a good strategy. Although some of (if not the) most powerful boons in the game are duo boons, which require boons from two gods.
So in short, like many things in this game, it depends.

I got a quick question regarding the "friendly wager" prophecy. i defeated Charon twice back to back (two different runs) and have hermes' heart way past 3 yet i still havent gotten the prophecy dialogue from him. After 70 runs and my 10th Hades kill, I can safely say this game is an all time favorite of mine. 2nd only to maybe Bloodborne. Maybe Mass effect 2. Best game I have played in years hands down.

I bought it literally just pass some time with some fluid combat. I did not at all care about the story when I started. I know nothing of Greek mythos and have never cared for that setting in the past. I had no idea this would be a game and a story that will stick with me for a very long time 🙂

like you'll get the rewards for the weapon's heat (0,1,2) ect but you can choose a different one and still reap those rewards

My strat is equipping Evergreen Acorn at the start of the region, then when it comes to the boss immediately dash into them while summoning Than (ensures the boss doesn't move out of the circle most of the time) and then wait for the damage to come rolling in. The acorn prevents any health loss, so it's pretty low-risk, high-reward.

I usually try to get Artemis' Aid as a replacement for the companion once it's used, I swear by its Greater Call. Add Quick Favor and it really works out quite well.

Depends, what levels are your boons at? I find it's always best to have boons at roughly the same level rather than going ham on a particular boon, plus the benefits decrease slightly after a certain point. I've heard level 5 is the sweet spot.
Also even if it doesn't lead to Exclusive Access Dionysus has some extremely helpful boons like Strong Drink that can save a run.
