Roguelites, for me, is good because I can enter zen mode playing through a loop. Once I "mastered" a roguelite such that can do streaks, it's like playing one of those zen survival crafting ame. Repetitiveness is a feature, not a bug.

In fact, I expected ME to activate doom and then still have a doom effect for 50% damage on the enemy

My point here being that I don't see why activating immediately renders it unable to benefit from CL from a gameplay standpoint
