i find the game a bit too hard and i am a bit surprised because generally i am above average in terms of mechanical skills. like eg i can play cuphead. but it took me 29 goes to clear one time. and i cant do it comfortably again still. i had to have the hp regen boon and more athena deflect boons to fight the final boss. is there something I’m missing here 😦

You just have to be in the right mindset I think. Constantly be looking around the screen and paying attention to everything. That's how I've ended up clearing it (and I still can't beat Cuphead XD)

The biggest thing to get clears it make sure your builds center around something. Don’t try to get a good cast and good special and good attack, get boons that make 1 thing super good

That comes later down the road when you've gained more game knowledge and have all the unlocks. even the heat is only there to have you play at a difficulty you're comfortable with, there's nothing wrong with finding the base game difficult. It's a damn hard game right from the start.

When I had around 20 attempts and pact of punishment was introduced, I remember that I escaped with 50+ heat level (trying maximum i could) and it was kinda easy if you follow some patterns. But it was not so interesting, because you have to evade everything you could by clicking space button. I tried more combinations of boons/weapons and etc and the game was completely over for me at that time.
I understand you and a lot of people who think differently, I play WoW and there are mythic+ dungeons and people find them really interesting after almost one and half a year playing though they are the same. But gameplay there is more interesting and every dungeon has some strategies to complete them in time, also they have cool affixes which change every week, so you have to adjust your strategy. Also a big point they have 10+ dungeons not 4 (ONLY 4) levels with dummy bosses (really, i tell you chambers in Hades are harder to pass).
Also I get that Supergiant team makes money and around 2-5% players want new challenges and new exp. others are casuals mostly.
Still the game is SUPER and i like it so much as I play it sometimes but still dont find it interesting to escape with every weapon at highest heat level. It is because gameplay is very the same.

I just got "Perfect Clear," but I'm not sure what it means, since I definitely took damage.
