i just had a bow run with aspect of Hera and aphrodite cast, and it's reeeeally bugged
sometimes the casts dont hit, sometimes they hit but dont get stuck on the enemys and sometimes they get stuck but dont hit
and due to how i was going for a full cast run, the difference between hitting and not hitting was the difference between 100 and 1000 damage
they really need to fix this because it makes aphro cast almost useless with aspect of hera
has this happend to anyone else?

I did not remember issue with Aphrodite cast and Hera bow, but got issue with Artemis cast and that bow vs shielded elysium foes because the arrow is blocked by them and then the cast did not hit them nor come back to track them

Has Supergiant ever talked about weapon specific boon balancing? Things like Zeus attack on the rail makes the game almost too easy

So another interesting thing I found in the random generation: rarity ISN'T fully independent. So as an example, the base rate of getting an epic boon is 0.05, the base rate for getting a rare boon is 0.1.
So the chance to get a rare or better boon is 15 percent right? Wrong! The check for rarity first does a roll for epic. So epic is a 0.05 chance to hit. but if that roll fails, then there's a roll for rare, so 0.1 of 19/20th = 19/200 or 0.095 chance to get a rare
That means you get a common 0.855 percent of the time on base rarities

I sometimes hesitate to answer things like this because I feel like the work should display the philosophy rather than having to explain our intention. In Early Access, it's actually more useful for us not to explain our goals all the time, so we can gauge the community sentiment and see if we're meeting them.
That said, there is a philosophy. Specifically, we are balancing for 'interesting decisions'. It's being tuned towards compelling, engaging and occasionally surprising choices. Sometimes this means lifting up something that isn't being picked very often, and sometimes this means muting something dominant because it may be hiding other interesting choices. Some times your plan comes together in a Hades run and some times it goes to an unexpected place.
Sometimes you should want to take a Rare over an Epic. In a unique circumstance, you should be offered a Duo and not choose it. Some enemies should be a nightmare with certain weapons and some might occasionally be a breeze. We want 'high dynamic range' across many runs. And when the run comes together, it might feel like you've 'broken' the game -- but you're a god in this one and that's what we're going for!

@regal junco Yeah and it seems very viable for modding! I've just started getting into it and you can inject some code to modify data files. What you can't do right now is make new content, so no new audio or visuals can be added, but you can tweak numbers and also you can work with the conditions allready built into the game. Like, you can make your own victory titles.

All are good for different things, depending on the build. More so viable across the board than other weapons imo (spear anyone?) Default is good for stacking hangover, chill, lightning etc. 2 is good for casts and nuke damage. 3 is good for crits.

I feel like for apollo it would be interesting to see creative applications for the whle "god of truth" thing. Like, if you've ever read mistborn, it would be wicked cool to see somthing like a boon that acts like atium (far fetched reference here, I know)
in that it lets you see a short distance into the future as far as, like, where enemies will move, but that sounds way easier said than actually done. Would probably be impossible to implement something like that but it would still be neat to see
