Yeah, that makes sense, it's just I'm used to "goodnight" usually being used to mean like "goodbye have a good night" but you're using it just like "good morning" which seems like it should be perfectly reasonable too, just not very common in English that I'm used to. I think "good evening" is more often what people would say in this case
