So uhh, I just edited a bunch of game's files and I'm basically playing in godmode right now, like not using a Trainer and stuff I physically modified a few things. Is there anyway I can get my game back to normal?

The 'AAA' space is crowded and demands a huge amount of money to break into. By staying as a smaller studio, SGG probably has more freedom to make the games they want to with risking the studio on something riskier, like Pyre. On average, I'd wager a SGG is cheaper to make and thus needs to sell less to break even.

Aight so i just finished my first time gameplay on Hades.
And currently liking the experience a whole damn lot! I can already tell by small details that it isn't just a "hack n slash dungeon crawler type game" it is so many things, from the speed I get by combining certain attacks in a certain way as to deal the damage quicker, to the amazing art in the game, I feel like I only just started! I swear the game has gotten harder since I started from an older save...like I was wiping the floor with everything pretty consistently till at least 5 heat and now I'm getting destroyed on 1 heat with sword...with a pretty decent build...

Cloud saves are unfortunately a platform-side thing; Epic has been rolling them out gradually for the past month or so, but they haven't gotten to Hades yet
i'm not too sure about how to change where the game saves (though I'm sure there is a way), but you can back up your save files manually by copying the save folder somewhere else

@vale brook Duo boons will always have the primary color of both gods in the boon artwork. Gold -> Athena, Red -> Ares, Green -> Artemis, Pink -> Aphrodite, Yellow -> Zeus, Purple -> Dionysus, Blue -> Poseidon.
This isn't perfect, I'm colorblind myself and the colors aren't always reliable for discerning information. Another way to keep track is to watch for the effects in the text. Anything mentioning Weak will have Aphrodite, anything involving lightning or electric effects is Zeus.
Poseidon has two outlier Duos that affect rewards and are not combat boons, just a heads-up.

Yes, I've noticed. It's everywhere in the game, from the manacles wretches wear to brief flashes inbetween rooms. What I'm wondering is, is it a symbol Supergiant came up with or did they find it elsewhere?

You should be able to, yes. It's not clear yet if Steam will save in the same location that Epic does, so you may need to move your save files, but I don't anticipate Epic save files being any different from Steam save files, since the game runs independently, and it's the same game and system.

Okay, so this might be a dumb question but I just came back to playing the game after a few weeks, and I wasn't there for the launch of the latest new update. I know that they removed the pact of punishment (which zag commented) on when I went to his room and that they removed heat. My problem is, the game still shows me 7 heat when I go into the room with weapons and I don't really understand what this means? Also, how can I access the new pact of punishment? Do I have to beat the game again? (I haven't so far, I unlocked the pact when the end boss was still the hydra)

Heat rolling over from old saves was an issue early on after the patch, but has since been fixed; if you start a new run, die, and return to the House, your heat should reset to 0.

During MDK, once I got gud at the new furies I was just replaying the game over and over trying to advance Thanatos' story, and achieving nothing else (and he usually didn't even show up). Right now, I feel like every run tries to make me better in multiple ways. Using new weapon aspects, getting better at high heat, or getting closer to perfect boss fights.

Comparing the Early access of Hades to Dead Cells looks ok however Dead Cells have 18 maps and much more weapons etc . Of course Hades is more fun to play and create great combo build so its hard to do more weapons etc.
If we are talking about enemies there is also a big difference . In dead cells there are tons (around 250?) of enemies while on hades like 35?

I fully expect Hades to receive a price range when it goes into full release considering all the hard work that has gone into the game, and I would be fine with it. Granted, I'm not a dev, don't take my opinions and theories as fact.

If we're comparing Hades to Dead Cells, Dead Cells has more areas sure, most of them aren't nearly unique as the ones in Hades, which is fine because Dead Cells has a different design philosophy there. Runs are just structured differently because there are multiple paths to take and minute advantages for each separate path.
As to whether we'll see "post launch content" idk for Hades. Lots of Roguelikes like to do post launch content, but Supergiant in the past isn't known for doing sequels or expansions. It would be neat to see for sure though.

Has anyone else gotten semi soft locked by the shades in Elysium when they're given Athena's blessing?

So I was in one of the trial of the gods rooms and chose Zeus over Athena because at the time I had most of the Athena boons I wanted. Since I was in Elysium the heros were what spawned which I had anticipated. The problem was that when I killed one of them they turned into a shade which was almost immediatly impervious due to angering Athena. This left me in a loop of constantly killing them only for them to revive again. It was kinda like in Bastion when you have the regen idol on and then you go to the cave with the rock throwing birds. They get a window of invulerabilty and are able to completely recover from the damage you had dealt. It's quite frustrating.

Finally getting around to turning up the heat a bit and oh god some of the options feel like a much larger change than others for the same "price"

I put two points in speeding up the game and made it just barely to the final boss

Honestly depends on the build? If I’m running Skull Earring and have Low Tolerance and similar low health Boons then of course I want crazy high health

with reduced to no healing, getting hp is useful too, as it gives you hp with the pick up, increases death defy hp, and if you have healing on, increases healing throughout the run
I usually swap to skull earrings for the last zone or two, so it's handy for that too

Oof, broke my fifteen win streak due to a really painful run
I tend to always pick the darkness bonus weapon, simply because I want to vary my playstyle. Got shield today, which I'm not great with, ended up starved completely for boons. Got to Elysium with 3 boons and promptly died due to hitting like a wet noodle
Had poison attack, Poseidon dash, and +2 dash from Hermes, and that was it. At least I got a lot of keys and ambrosia bottles 😌

I really hope we get to see the titan prison in a form or another. Maybe like the chaos gate leading to their prison where you can get a single boon per run or a keepsake or maybe an armor for zag after accomplishing a task for that Titan and then getting back to him once the task is done. Like defeat Hades 5 times using the Spear then you get the Cronos Armor which lets you rewind time X seconds for X number of times per run. Just throwing ideas out there.

yeah, i think that's a pretty crucial part of the sisyphus myth; the mountain is asymptotic, and gets steeper and steeper the higher he goes, so he never reaches the peak, and every step is harder than the last until his inevitable failure(s).
BUT he still gets back at it and tries, every single day, and that's kinda the big thing Camus was on about in the Myth of Sisyphus. Just curious, i havent played hades since the chaos update, just because i prefer to wait for it to be fully finished, how much do you guys think it has improved since the earlier days

as someone who bought this game december last year, it has changed and improved A TON in a year
smoother, more fun gameplay, more run options, all biomes instead of just two
it’s been through a lot of tweaking and adjustment, the difficulty is fine and increasing the difficulty is so cool and fun how they decided to run with it

though i will say that, as an early access gamer, my experience is hecka different than somebody playing for the first time in a while
and that a lot of the story is intertwined with the gameplay, so since i played a lot my first month i basically unlocked most “main plot” a year ago and now i don’t remember much

People used to focus Theseus first, because he got reinforcements after Asterius died anyways. That's no longer the case, since Big Bad update I think, so Idk why people would still kill Theseus first. I don't.

Technically it’s probably best to keep both alive for as long as possible if you’re going for pure speed, because that lets you get double value from area of effect attacks

I kill Theseus first mostly out of habit, but there is a point to say he attacks more frequently with the random god attack under 50% health if Asterius dies first

Quick question for anyone here, feel free to do the good/bad emote thing they do in feedback: how would people feel if there was a way to see like a Hades Journal or somethere where the god of the dead goes into his thoughts on everything that happens? Like we see a lot of hades being a jerk but this would kinda show a more human side to him i guess since it says the things he really can't show.

If there is an another side of Hades, it would be more impactfull to hear it from the man himself. A silent bunch of notes flying around the underworld are not the tool to gut-punch the player like the Transistor ending did.
