It took me 44 runs before I finally saw a legendary Artimis boon.

So, most people are pretty much agreed that the new god we're getting is Thanatos, god of death, since you can clearly make out a scythe in the picture. However, I find it unlikely that a cthonic god so close to hades would be so quick to help you. However, there is a different being in greek mythology that is linked with the scythe. Chronos, the titan. While I believe this is also unlikely, I find it more likely that Chronos would help you than Thanatos helping you. Chronos has motive, being that he (most likely) resents Hades, and while he may not have the means via greek mythology, rules can be bent since it's a video game, and doesn't follow strictly to greek mythology.
I'm just saying that the being isn't confirmed, and while it may be likely that it is Thanatos, we shouldn't count our chickens before they hatch.

Fair enough, but rules and situations may be slightly different than in Greek mythology, in order to allow for fun expansions and stories. Yes, they would have to jump through many hoops (and I confess it is terribly unlikely) for them to put in Chronos, that's not the point. The point is that the god isn't confirmed, and that Thanatos isn't known for using a scythe, he's known for a sword.

Not a popular choice but I think all the others are a smidge too specialised, great in X situation but awful in Y,
A lot of Bastion's weapons were like that but in that game; you could switch weapons fairly frequently so you could adapt to suddenly fighting a different array of enemies fairly quickly, But in Hades; one weapon has to get you through the whole thing,
so Shield is my favourite and probably best over all, for players at my middle-of-the-road skill level, because it's so adaptable
