If you are speedrunning, the well room is already giving you a good split by not having combat.

So for speedruns they're already really good, but having an alternate reward sounds really good

It doesn't even need to be much, 10 darkness or a few coins would be completely sufficient that it doesn't feel like a waste when you get there with 3 HP missing

That's exactly what I was thinking, Marthia. Just kinda seems like a waste when I'm only a few health down. I don't think the room is a bad thing in any way (it's true, there's no fighting), but I think they could be improved. There's no chance of a speed chest or shop spawning, so there's definitely a (possible) monetary loss of getting them.

Yes! The game should automatically work with PS4, Xbox, Switch Pro, and other XInput controllers. If you run into issues, try disabling Steam Controller support in Steam.

From what I've read on the tech-support forum, apparently enabling steam controller support messes with keybindings in DirectInput or XInput or whatever controllers use these days

Some keybinds were overlapping, and disabling that fixed it.

The feel is definitely closest to Bastion, but you can tell it's taken influence from all three other games. A lot of the enemies remind me of bastion enemies, though.

I think you're right @slender knot - I definitely noticed a couple of "plateaus" where it became obvious I was just going to have to focus on acquiring more Darkness to improve my stats and such before I was going to be able to progress. Once the game is out of early access and on other platforms, please let us exchange our Epic copies for ones on another platform. It took two weeks for support to respond to a simple technical issue with the launcher, as well as giving incorrect information when they DID respond, and they will NEVER bring their platform to Linux. I am happy to support you guys, but unhappy if I am forced to use a service that is treating me this way.

I found a concerning problem

I 100%'ed the game for all the lore unlocks, except the 100 convos

Is it that Hades is too fun and you can't put it down?

thinking I'd unlock all the lore for him

only to find I have to have 999 more to fully fill out the codex entry

that is an absurd level of grind that I have no interest in doing unfortunately

so I'm gonna be putting the game down until the next major content update

I could be wrong, but from what I recall others saying about the lore entries, Ambrosia gifting is actually a shortcut to unlocking it instead of conversations, but that they do the same thing

is that there's a set amount you can give to each character

cuz I maxed out all the "hearts" that I could get from gifting ambrosia

then there's gray hearts with locks on them - once you reach those and filled all the red hearts you can, they won't accept any more ambrosia gifts

and I maxed out all the ambrosia I could give to all the characters

@teal fractal they're randomized. the team calls them "remembrances" - they seem to be little snippets of memories zag has from his childhood that were formative or traumatizing in some way and shaped his outlook

Also @gilded egret that art is placeholder art and will be replaced later in development. The game is still in early access and as such, plenty of planned updates to assets and environments haven't gone through yet

That being the case, if you don't mind, I'm going to clear that particular feedback issue - if you have other things you'd like to give feedback about though, please do so!

Anyways, before I post in feedback. How would you guys feel about a standalone upgrade path for weapons, outside of just run builds. It could really offer some incentive to pick your favorite and get involved. I really like the boons and they feel really strong, and I'm urgently awaiting more content. I just ran outta stuff to upgrade really fast.

her purple circles ability is always 5 times so dash/run around until her fifth is over, the mass arrows she shoots are easy to dodge if you take a huge distance to her for the time she uses it

ikr, its great fun. I have a similar issue with zeus. I love putting chain lightning on stuff but when bosses come about it just means i aint got damage

Now i beat hydra i want to experiment, but anything other than Artemis or the Ares feels like im missing out on damage to actually win the run

I feel like all my failed attempts were just not learning his pink projectiles well enough. Once i grasped how to dodge them and get enough damage to cope with adds he became much more acheivable.

Though i did lose to total BS one run when a hydra head died over impassable lava with all my bloodstones so i couldent fire my cast for the rest of the fight.

The moment to moment gameplay seems more akin to Bastion, but they have quite different approaches to the upgrade system

so yes, I'd recomend it, Bastion was a delight

Out of morbid curiosity: how many escape attempts have you made and how far have you got?

I imagine I'm somewhat behind the belcurve since A: I'm not very good XD and B: I've done a fair few short runs specifically to farm keys and darkness that will have thrown my ratio out of wack

focus on mid-long range attacks, with the bow, spear or shield throw, Zues, Ares or Athena boons for more damage and Daedalus hammer to up your attack speed or spead in some way~
