I'll be completely honest, I have no idea how you're supposed to do this fight without cursed slash

because if I couldn't regenerate throughout the fight, I would have died for sure

in general is just practicing the timing of your dodges

I mean, Hades' openings are big enough for a dash strike+3 hit combo, so it's definetly worth it

the usual rail boons are poseidon dash, zeus attack, artemis or aphrodite special.

short version:
yes. however, if you mind story- or gameplay-spoilers, you might want to move to #h1-for-new-players until you get further in the game. I don't want to be the one to ruin hades the game for people.

long version:

• enemies in hades can in most situations only start an attack if zagreus is within their line-of-sight. pillars and other walls block this line-of-sight.

• if you're having trouble, target the asterius (the bull) first.

• asterius has two different types of swipe attacks. the one he chooses depends on his previous move.

• asterius can only jump either 1 or 3 times in a row, though sometimes in phase 2 his pattern bugs out and ends after just 2.

• theseus' attack depends on how far away zag is when he picks his attack. the most reliable way to avoid him is getting close (like, very close), dashing through the forced spin, and then backstabbing theseus while his attack is on cooldown and he's running away.

The thing is a tier or ranking is weird anyways because you swap keepsakes as you go through the run so you’ll easily swap between 3 or 4

in a given run they aren’t mutually exclusive

The way builds typically work is
Tartarus: start with the most important god for your build
asphodel: force in the 2nd god for your build
Elysium: use utility like bone hourglass to supercharge your buffs and bring some to the Hades fight, coin purse for money, or a defensive keepsake to keep yourself alive
Styx: acorn, some other defensive keepsake, or dad keepsake

He is objectively a good player but he’s also a youtube so he does a lot of less convientional stuff for content

and the tierlist videos he’s made are very subjective and not really fully based on the utilty of things for speedrunning or high heat which are like the 2 real metrics you can gauge outside of just how much you like a weapon

a dash-upper is an upper, so pretty much everything that changes regular uppers applies to dash-uppers

the game is inconsistent with its terminology, but yes, usually if a boon / hammer / whatever else says the name of a move, it refers to every variant of that move as well

so dashstrikes and shield bullrushes scale off attack damage, and fist duppers scale off special damage.

Finally defeated hades with all six weapon, and now, I can give my opinion on all 6

Varatha(Lance) and Aegis(Shield): Whilst every weapon in this game are good, I spectacularly suck at using both of these. Cool weapons, but I'll need more experience with both to win consistently.

Stygius(Sword) and Malphon(Twin Fists): These are absolutely my favorite weapons, they just feel so good to use, I'll definetly main one of these two.

Coronacht(Bow) and Hexagryph(Rail Gun): Now, I'm not normally a fan of bows/guns in roguelikes, BUT running Hexagryph with Zeus' attack boon feels so freaking good to use. Bow on the other hand feels a lot more consistent for me since you don't need to give your soul to rngesus for a good run, and you can still benefit from a lot, just not my personnal favorite.

it's really up to personal preference and the way you play though because some keepsakes work best with certain weapons etc

If you want to get better builds and win more runs you should start using olympian god keepsakes since they guarantee a boon, you can shape up your build in Tartarus and Asphodel then switch to defensive keepsakes for Elysium and Styx

It'll vary heavily depending on what weapon and build you wanna run and also how much of the mirror you have unlocked. At earlier stages it'll be tougher to manipulate builds the way you want but when you unlock rerolls and such it'll become easier. When it comes to defensive keepsakes usually Acorn/Lucky Tooth are the best options. If you want a specific plan for a weapon you like you can ask and someone can try to help.

focus bull, hide behind a pillar

both of the guys just repeat the same attack cycle

the reason you do bull first is because all the twink guy will do when you are far away from him is throw the spear, if you stay behind a pillar its pretty easy to avoid

just learn the bull's attacks and you'll be fine

Is there some website that shows you the history of every single change to aspects,boons and other things the game went through during early access? Considering how much changed with hades 2 from the beginning of early access to today I’m curious on how things used to be with hades 1 early access

Not that I’ve heard mention of in the last 4 years

you can read back through #hades-patch-notes but they can be vague and also there’s just a lot and most of the contents aren’t exactly boon changes or anything like that

So the dice are supposed to change what I get right? Am using the green dice thing, and have had two different Wells give me the same items rhat they had at the start after I bought the items and used a dice

To be clear, they had a different set of items each

But the rerolls gave me the same items that were originally offered

it is possible to roll the same well items

for boons, the game does have a method in place to discard 1 option from what’s been shown to you to guarantee it gives you new options

It’s actually really nice that wells don’t always do that because one does enjoy re-hitting and stacking a ton of the same buffs at times

i have 2 seperate boons that increase a percentage of my special attacks damage

im wondering if they stack

the boons are tempest flourish (from Poseidon) and addled flourish (from chaos)

casts are fun because poms give flat damage number increases so those are actually multiplicative with % buffs im pretty sure

Hey guys just out of curiosity, are the mini bosses and reg foes increased difficulty than the previous region’s boss? For example, would satyrs and Styx bosses be harder than Theseus? Or would the guys in Elysium be harder than the hydra?

I feel like the foes would be slightly less harder than the prev bosses but the mini bosses would be harder than prev bosses?

The heat setting you are talking about is called "Benefits Package", or "BP" for short. BP enemies make the run more chaotic, but unless you get very unlucky with perks, are pushing very high heats, or your pact is garbage, should not cause too many problems.

the bosses are more difficult but more consistent than benefits package enemies.

the problem is that if you mistime the meg, you're either losing SD or wasting a meg or only hitting one of the two, with the other wasting hella time

besides, the skull crusher rises back up way too fast on FO2 for some aspects (the four swords (arthur espcecially), gilgamesh) to handle well
