There can only be three fake bobs, so the fourth bob is always real if the first three were fake. Fake bobs have an interval of 2-5 seconds while the real bob has an interval of 1-2 seconds. So if it takes more than 2 seconds, it should be a fake bob. Meaning you should look for the real bob within a short time after you start fishing or within a short time after a previous bob.

Personally, I just look for the white flash above the bobber and ignore the bobber itself. Some players have said they have better success when putting their thumb on the bobber to not get distracted by that, so maybe you could give that a try.

A Perfect Catch means catching a fish within 340ms. Perfect Catches are 50/50 on being a legendary or rare fish. Any other catch is 50/50 on being a rare or common fish

it’s not really viable for speedrunning because it doesn’t help you deal any damage, and at higher heats it’s value is so much worse because that max hp down means most hits are taking most of your hp if not oneshotting

Yeah I feel like the plan is usually to get as much extra health as possible with it, but again, probably not as viable on higher heat since you'd rather prioritize other things, like dealing damage fast

So you’re practically always in one or two shot range with cursed slash, even at max hp

Every source of +% is additive, so the damage calculation looks like (base damage)* (100% + any additional boosts you have from boons or keepsakes) * (crit damage multiplier)

Aka crit damage multiplies the final damage value you end up with

The only things that break this damage calculation are Hoarding Slash and Merciful End’s bonus damage is considered “extra damage” added on after the damage calculation, so those numbers don’t get multiplied at all

Precisely, so im not going to bring a keepsake for it to be eaten quick after by one enemy that effectively does no dmg, and it does prevent dmg, for example if I get hit by dad first slash, I know I can just get some free dmg for the second, or I can be more careless around the lasers, also i I clear all tunnels so a way to counter poison never hurts
