Probably changed due to modern values. The detail is shown in boon dialogue with demeter where she mentions that she isn't the biological sister of Zeus but instead the daughter of Hyperion.
Within the game things that are considered "accurate mythology" are things that are believed by mortals on the surface. So SGG change a few things partly because of modern sensibilities but also to introduce the idea that the game won't be strictly bound by greek mythology

In general without tool assistance or a lot of work mapping out a route for a seed (which is not worth doing until high heat) you won’t accomplish much trying to manip though
