Beowulf is overall the strongest weapon in the game, it only really falls off at extreme high heat (around 55+). Beowulf is a shield so it's really safe due to bullrushing and blocking and also has access to the Charged Shot hammer. It also scales off your cast, that's your main damage source. Casts scale really well with every source of scaling you could think of; poms, Hermes, well items, chaos, rarity etc. It also happens to be that Flares are buggy and have an interesting interaction with the Mirage Shot duo that makes them do 100% on the second projectile instead of 30%. So the play is to start with Poseidon Cast and force Artemis into Asphodel to try to get Attack + Mirage and just scale it from there.

Passion Flare is another great option but struggles to get Mirage Shot because Passion flare opens up other duos so its more rng. But it's also more independent so you see it being used at high heat

Well Mirage Shot is a massive boost. With Flood Flare you'll feel the drop in damage when you get to Elysium, especially if your scaling sources are minimal. With Passion Flare it's ok. So yea ideally you get Mirage Shot but play the run regardless because Beowulf still takes skill to play and is punishing when it comes to bad cast management and positioning despite it being probably the most broken weapon dmg wise

Practice and learn breakpoints. Only load the required amount of stones to kill an enemy, and be mindful of where they end up so you pick them up somewhat soon if you know the encounter isnt ending yet.

You'll split stones almost all the time with Beo and other cast weapons, Beo's cast take more time to drop comparatively. So you have a big window to pick them up. Try practicing you Skelly, where you dash strike - bullrush with 2 stones, dash strike again - bullrush with the third stone - end up where you originally shot the first 2 stones and pick them up -> repeat

Obviously that wont happen often in a real scenario because you'll be killing enemies and moving on to another but it makes you start thinking about the stones from the volley you shot earlier. It's also good for bossing because they wont phase all the time

Also just watch good players and try to implement their techniques /ask

the talos gimmick is pretty worthless unless you want to spend a lot more time learning how to properly use the gimmick

a normal dash-upper will one shot tartarus witches with fiery presense, and talos uppers are slower/stickier so you never really want to use it

also on the other hand

i recommend not using ME aspects, mostly because it's just harder to get going

you could try nemesis if you want to stay a melee aspect and go for a crit build, but melee aspects are generally just more difficult to get a sub10 with

if you want to stick with fists, then that's fine tho

I cannot stress enough just how much Darren's background as a rock musician is essential to the soundscape of Hades and Supergiant Games as a whole. Most video game composers come from a European classical music background, and as someone who also comes from that same musical background, there are so many limitations when you're brought up that way. Like, not at all classical music is so limiting (I'd argue most are actually very diverse in terms of musical technique), but the way classical music is taught can be extremely rigid. Back when I was considering becoming a full-time musician, I was so caught up on perfection that I was terrified at the thought of taking risks, which only limited my abilities. And for that reason, I feel like it'd be awesome to see more video game composers like Darren in the sense that they come from musical backgrounds outside of classical music.

The Resource Director offers 10 ranks with 5 sub-ranks each to climb through. One of those sub-ranks requires 1x Titan Blood to be spend. So you only have to spend 10x Titan Blood on Resource Director after fully upgrading your Weapon Aspects.

Which is why I consistently have over 100 Titan Blood even after trading them in whenever I can.

@agile basin only gripes with Hades, and we're talking nitpicks and only affecting a small set of players:

• Darkness and gemstone grinds are too long compared to other completion rewards within the game (all bounties, codex, fated list) These could be rectified if we got more darkness/gemstones based on higher/unique heats.
• It would be nice if you could earn multiple titles on the end-of-run screen (forgot if they're called titles or something else), so you can accurately track which ones you have and haven't completed.
• Some of the titles still feel arbitrary on whether you get them or not IIRC, tried for the boonless one and several times it didn't proc, and I couldn't quickly find resources as to why.

I`m about to complete the last resource director rank, I feel yah about the darkness grind, I also wish for more rewards in the heat system. But I see the darkness titles as something for the players who had bilions of darkness after the EA, and had nothing to do with it, so SGG made the "useless rank system"
also, any part of hades that is "well, you will just have to play more hades" is a actually upside for me, so... yeah 😅

And about the titles, I only ever aimed for the boonless one once, and got it, so I dont really know alot about it. altho, I feel like I get some WAY more often then others

Once you successfully escape, the weapon rewards "reset" and you have to beat it on minimum 1 higher heat to get the titan blood/diamond/ambrosia again.

It doesn't matter how much higher the heat is, the reward is still the same as long as it's at least 1 higher than the last time you beat it

Rewards stop after 20 heat (20 escapes)

Which I have yet to get to on a weapon but I'm almost there with shield

Because Asterius ended up just kneeling waiting to throw Asterius while Asterius' second phase got ready
