It’s really up to you. At some point around 50 heat I started to rely much more on bullrushing than actually dashing to dodge attacks, and this is more of a thing for EM4 imo. But around that point you start to think about taking RR to squeeze out more damage in tough areas and finish fights quicker, since a second dash isn’t helping you in hades, heroes Lernie etc. The downside is mobility in rooms
But yea it is preference. I stopped liking it after a while.

SS attack scaling is great but special scaling is mediocre
So no reason not to take special unless you're doing a boonless run
Otherwise just take Cast or Dash
Or run a weapon that doesnt care about Special and use that as a burner slot and purge it everytime
You can use Fated Authority to avoid boon doors so you ideally get 1 boon per biome and that would be the special

I'm also still kinda inexperienced with eris. I almost always use the hidden aspects and for a long time my record was with arthur

if you have the buff and cast, that cast will have the buff for its duration
but for exampling casting and then gaining the buff wont make it do extra dmg
(temporal boosts like hyper sprint + rush delivery or eris will update when the cast hits)
so slicing can do normal dmg and as soon you get eris buff it will start doing the buffed dmg
