I've been trying this for quite some time and yeah, ME is pretty much the only viable strategy in my opinion. Your DPS is really low otherwise, so boss fights take longer than normal, which leaves more room for mistakes. If you're really good at the game mechanically I mean and are able to dodge pretty much all of the attacks you could try to do it that way but it's very hard, especially since you only have one dodge and your HP is way too low as well.
As far as strong drink goes I am not sure if it is completely unobtainable but I don't think I've seen it, but I usually avoid Dio so can't say for certain. You could go for normal Dio attack run with Dio-Ares duo but it's much weaker than ME. Would be safer than ME but again way slower.
Also you definetly would want to try to go for Athena lego so you'd still want her in your pool which makes the ME strategy better as well
I've made it to Hades few times like that, once even to his second phase, but unfortunately wasn't able to clear

Gilga doesnt really do dash strike itself because its standing strikes are better, and the dash strikes are more filler, but it does very well with dash boons obviously.

You don't need to go one by one, you can max the heat gauge if you want. You'll get rewards for the lowest heat you haven't done but nothing is stopping you from going higher. If you do 10 runs with increasing heat 1 to 10 or if you do 10 runs at heat 10 you'll get same rewards

Hades at 0 ||heat|| is very casual once you progress/invest and get some experience.
Basically baseline, it's very managable. And it has difficulty modifiers both ways.
Higher difficulty is more rewarding but really most of the resources you need, you will get from quests.
I dont recall any really depending on difficulty.
