It does make sense lol. I recommend trying Tidal Dash start on spear. That'll do a lot of damage, and spear Dash-Strike has really good AOE.

hunting blades should be like 90% of your dps tho, and lightning rod makes it harder to pick up your casts
it's definitely possible to get both ofc, but castpects should generally avoid lightning rod because of how it makes picking up casts more difficult
