no because the issue is the computer itself is hooked up to a power source (the wall) but it is not accepting power from it, so the battery is just dying and it's shutting off as if it ran out of juice. it's the dumbest thing ever

on an HP windows laptop, if you search for the device manager and select the batteries section, you will find a driver titled "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery"
and basically it helps to adjust the flow of electricity into your computer so that it doesn't overcharge and get damaged
but sometimes it does its job a little too well and stops it entirely. so you have to delete the driver and get a fresh copy upon restart
