It was a 9/10 instead of a 10 and it isn't clear why. They had so much story they didn't have enough time to tie all the knots.
Probably with 12 episodes they would have managed.
The fact that many moments in the first 2 arcs they opted for a music video and that mellows down the experience.
The sacrifice of Isha is so telegraphed it is ruined. In arcane season 1 things break, things go wrong. Isha sacrifice is a choice and therefore shown in a positive light, with music video and all, in my opinion completely ruins the moment. Also because the heroic sacrifice of a child is quite a strange thing to portray as heroic.

This is enough to ruin quite a lot of things.
Ahyes the "elite team" picked by Caitlyn is literally a team of random people she picked up from low ranks. It is quite hard to look at it differently. Some random foot soldiers are going to solve all the problems. I get the idea, but that was a little bit too random.
There were also various things about the final confrontation that were not ok but I cannot remember. Like why did Vander wake up after the mind control? All the other mechasoldiers didn't. The appearance of Jinx and Ekho at that precise moment was very cheesy with the music and all. I get that is Jinx, but this is a war and not a revolution. It was cool, but got me out of the moment.

Also yeah just read AD message. Caitvin happening literally after Jinx escaped prison was so out of place. It felt so wrong to be shown there.

So I saw this ages ago, and thankfully I found it because it was still in my history.
It is mentioned how the two main creators were "first timers" and how they hired Amanda Overton and I just assumed she was the more experienced of the 3 and was hired for this reason.

Reading the comment by Tatz I see that she remained for season 2, so I suppose she is part of the problem for season 2 as well.
Or maybe it is the production to 'blame', or to 'thank', because they all tried to push for more episode, and when the management, or netflix, or whatever, told them no, they still managed to string things in a compelling way.

I think some people are making a mountain out of a molehill... It is worth a watch. The problem is that season 1 is perfect, and season 2 is a 9/10. It is well made, but if we had 3 episodes more, or 1 probably even episode more, it would have been just as majestic, and people get caught up with "What could have been" and that is a slippery slope. you can feel how insanely much passion team cherry put into this game, it feels like a pure passion project that's been polished to an insane degree by a team that didn't need to worry about money or rush the game out like the majority of developers do nowadays

I dont know, I just love when creative people who genuinely care about making the best version of their artistic vision get to do exactly that! without capitalism and stuff getting in the way, it happens very very rarely, that's why these games are so precious in my opinion!
so I think it's fair to love this game based on this reason alone honestly! let alone the fact that it genuinely turned out extremely well
