The reason that your save file from EGS still works with Hades on Steam is because both installations are looking in the same folder for save files! There's no real 'transfer' happening, it's kinda like if I put a cool rock on the floor and someone else comes along and picks up the cool rock. I did not hand them the cool rock but it was in the same place they were looking, so they found it.

Agreed, I think they're wonderful at creating an immersive story that doesn't take away from gameplay, but I would absolutely adore that in a horror aspect. Horror games are usually too railroady for me, or the story is far too underwhelming for me to want to play.

I think a pure horror game usually have a simple a gameplay of hiding and running away from the scary stuff because when you beat up the scary stuff the terror kinda gone .perfect example is the first Outlast it handle terror really well

I'm having question to devs. I sadly missed Q&A due of work :(
its clearly dev question rather than a direction of Hades. As I know the games from SuperGiants Games uses custom engine. Its the only way you can create such beauty games. Also I know that it was based on Open GL. And here is my question. Do you have plans to switch to Vulcan which will work much better (lower cpu usage, better gpu utilization). Increase performance even on lowest end laptops. This will also have big impact on AmD graphics which don't support open gl since few years making your games run rly poor.

API is low level programming which allow for communication with graphic card. Frameworks, tools like unity, etc are just code which allow for communications with system like windows. So it can access files, etc

Everybody has had at least some performance issues in Hades at some point, so it stands to benefit from a better rendering engine. Vulkan is clearly becoming standard, especially with so many major companies pushing it, but I doubt that SGG will refactor their rendering engine anytime soon.

Bought Hades on Steam for the gift code for Pyre, instead it sent Pyre to my Steam inventory; is it possible to get a code from that inventory item or do I have to have the other person on my steam friends list in order to give them the game?

I'm currently wondering if I should buy the games on Steam or GOG. I have Transistor from an Epic giveaway, was surprised that it runs very well on my (modern at least) potato so I'd like to get the rest. I guess it doesn't really matter as my library is split across three stores already. The Steam versions will be DRM free anyway so that's not really an issue and if I wanted Hades Steam would be the only choice (although I'm not sure how well Hades would run on my laptop). Also I have already purchased something on Steam. I guess the pro of GOG is that it gives you separate install files. But I can make an icon myself and I don't really care if the system treats it as an installed application or not. Well it kinda seems like arguments for Steam but I'm not sure 😅

The game has local multiplayer. Steam currently allows you to do local multiplayer games remotely or something. There are third party options like parsec but if you're not that invested and just wanna try it out, that's a thing that's on Steam and nowhere else.
