I might be tripping but it should be possible to get 8 gods in 1 run with sheer rng. You get the first 3 gods normally and then you need to have Hermes's travel deal which needs to give you a mystery after getting your 4th god in the shop, which then needs to give you the 5th and then you can force the other 3.

Very much so, you can get extremely powerful in ||Surface|| runs, and if you've beaten ||Prometheus|| (who I would say is harder) and still have good amounts of health/dd's, you have a really good shot

It also depends on how the wardens go for you, I find one of the final ones much harder than the other

Depends on why Hades 1 ending was disappointing for you, but I don't think 2 is going to wow you in terms of writing compared to 1 or anything. They're reasonably comparable. But also, for me at least, the ending is such a tiny fraction of what I even play the Hades games for, compared to the gameplay loop, the character designs and banter, the music, etc. that I wouldn't let that influence your decision to buy the game or not either way.

h2 i was initially massively disappointed in the ending, then with the patch it was better. but some aspects of the side stories im still unhappy with. overall, h2 is ok, but i liked h1 story better.

||it's equally as anticlimactic where it's just kind of one dialogue that happens in order to tie loose ends and lead into what might happen next without being tied to any kind of difficult gameplay challenge (Hades 2 DOES have you do one last run for it to trigger, but you don't even go all the way it's just for flavor)

So overall if you weren't satisfied with the first game's true ending for story reasons it will be entirely dependent on your investment in the story and your opinion on the writing of the second game's true ending

But if you didn't like the first one because of gameplay reasons/general approach you won't like the second one either||

you pick an aspect to use for each run—they (mostly) all use the same basic moveset and have access to the same daedalus hammer upgrades, but they're basically unique weapons which do different things

Well, it'd depend on if you'd filled your god pool before the god you're looking for has a chance to enter it

You can only have 4 main Olympians in your run per night, sometimes 5 if you get lucky with shop and door RNG

And if Apollo, for instance, was not one of those four you took boons from, then you will not see him for the rest of the run if you don't take his keepsake

people disagree on which gods are easiest versus hardest
||zeus strikes in random circles the size of your cast; ares strikes in rows of 3 circles the size of your cast; hestia launches fire which leaves burning pools on the ground, like some enemies with vow of fangs; apollo rapidly hits within circles the size of your cast, but they appear less often; hephaestus triple hits in particularly large circles (and I find him rather hard); poseidon and aphrodite both spawn a projectile which slowly seeks you out; hera spawns fine lines fissures in a * shape on the ground, following you; demeter creates large circular gales which are slow but deny big areas of the map||
that's a list of what each of them do (according to me lol), but if you want visuals a video is better

   the first is the only way you always have access to, but the other two are easier

||I wouldn't specifically aim for Heph attack on Medea, but if you get it at high rarity and can pom it down to a 2s cooldown it's not bad. I'd personally prefer it on special, though, and the ideal Medea combo is Blitz special (heaven flourish) + a % based boon on your attack||

This is highly personal of course but I've found that using Umbral Flames and a build based around Omega attack is very successful. Grab some buffs to movement speed if you get the opportunity, too.

But really, just start a new run and see what the game throws at you during the first few encounters. It's both easier and more fun to create builds around that than to plan ahead before starting

sister blades, flutter strike + flutter flourish + glamour gain + island getaway is fun and not that hard to get. very effective in most situations

yeah do whatever you want until ||moros|| tells you that something has happened to the prophecy list

you need to have finished a lot of prophecies and have high affinity with ||moros|| to start the epilogue

Also, I recently got the ability to unlock the cauldron incantation to ||go back in time|| and I seem to remember some angry comments in the patch notes on Steam about this addition. As a person who bought the game after the first content patch, have I missed out on anything?

I feel it depends on you. I disliked a lot of them until I got good with them. So practice probably makes a difference aswell.

I like big fat melee so axe and its variants are best weapons for me.

They're for bones, though getting 5 fish in a single run (most easily done with bringing Toula) will let you place down an aquarium

You also ||need an almost-full fishing log for Poseidon's bond and need to do a lot of fishing for the auto-collect Incantation||

It’s kind of a weird boon!
One strength which the tooltip doesn’t explain well: you can never permanently run out of magick. So long as flood gain is off cooldown, you can use infinite magick for the full duration even if you started with zero. This means it can keep up with absurdly high magick costs that other boons struggle with (like possessed array on the skulls)

but it also has a built in downtime of 8s without any regen, and that can absolutely feel bad. you can play around it on some builds, or supplement it with other forms of magick regen. I like it more the more I experiment tbh

everything you can do has a tapped and a held version. most of the held versions use magick (the blue bar above your HP), which can be restored in various ways (every god offers a boon which restores magick)
2 things work the same way no matter what weapon you're using, for the most part:

1. Tap dash to dash, or hold to sprint. Doesn't cost magick, sprint is useful for repositioning, safety, traversal.
2. Cast. Tap for a normal cast, hold for an Ω cast. Both casts drop a circle which holds most enemies in place, the Ω version also does damage at the end. For the most part, tapping cast is enough, it's an amazing safety tool.
   There are also two moves which vary between weapons, attack and special. Both have an Ω version, but each weapon works differently so it's hard to really summarize how they all work.

you can fully ignore magick if you want and still deal good damage—in fact, some weapons prefer that you ignore magick. so it's not always a vital resource, just vital for specific playstyles

when you're in the training grounds and select a weapon, a list of everything the weapon can do will pop up so you can test it out in a stress free environment.
some weapons also have a dash attack, i.e. an attack which works slightly differently when you combo it with a dash

the game wants you to learn as you go, and each run is different and offers you different boons/upgrades, but it's def a good idea to try to understand what each weapon does

btw also, this game is a roguelike, dying multiple times as you learn is kind of expected of the genre so don't worry about that. learn as you go, read tooltips when you hover over stuff

Your blue bar gets replenished every time you get to a new room

also, in general my advice is just "use your cast more"
in h1 the cast was kind of meh until you get a boon on it, but in h2 your cast is an amazing safety tool even boonless
and also yessss magick will regen between rooms automatically

but re: cast, there are enemies like the screaming banshees which really suck to deal with if you aren't using your cast, so that's probably going to help a lot! stopping enemies from moving is super good
and using sprint more, since it's another thing hades 1 didn't have

It is kinda hard to just use blue bar. I am used to dash attack or dash special at Hades but there was usually a button just for those dash attacks when I use steam link

Use your cast as a shield of sorts. Especially while you're learning. Cast in between yourself and the enemies (or under their feet if you prefer), step to the OTHER side of the cast
