Oh that attack is a pain, I died to it before I even knew what was happening my first few tries. Tips: ||You don't have to completely avoid hits in phase 2, thank god, but he does do the instakill attack several times. That first one is especially sudden. Thankfully the new patch has made it a little easier to see the wind-up. There's always one spot on the field not covered in black/red, it'll be on one of the clock numbers. Run to that spot - it's safe.|| Bringing in as many death defiances as you can is also a good idea, just in case. That particular attack is much easier to handle once you know what to expect, though. How do you play around your cast in this game?

I am a bit struggling with cast build in late game. What I mean is that, while it is not too hard to use in the first region, in the endgame, it ends up scaling less than my other build, so I have not that big damage for an action I can't spam (I can't put another as long as the last one isn't expired). The damage does not ramp up as strong as the other ways of dealing damage (attack or special for exemple). Probably because I don't found any hammer buffing cast?

So, am I building it wrong? Or is cast supposed to stay a supportive tool with another main source of damage? Maybe I lack some stuff that I will discover later into the game.

Unless you're using an aspect that boosts casts, you shouldn't treat them as main damage. Instead, treat them as utility. Stopping enemies, applying debuffs for a certain arcana effect, doing some small damage to kill tiny mobs or remove blue shields

It’s easier to center it around magick cast than base cast, but I really love storm circle or solar ring for this

For me, its strength lies in its ability to passively kill or at least heavily damage. I just beat the last boss for the first time with a super heavy cast build where every omega cast did between 1000 and 2000 damage. It’s a super safe option that lets you focus on mobility while dealing massive damage

Supernova is also super good for this, and scorch ring works as a good substitute for storm circle

it gets easier if you focus || Roxy and Jetty first || preferably in that order since || Roxy || doesnt move at all. You will have a much better time, since || taking one out at a time reduces the attacks of them going towards you || also keep in mind of always || moving around || because ||Jetty and Scylla || can hurt you very bad.
Once you have taken care of || Jetty and Roxy, after they revived themselves (after you took care of them the first time) Scylla will start to spawn those little fishes and there will be alot of them|| if you dont have enough damage I would recommend you to ||take care of the fishes first before attacking Scylla||

a perfect boss fight would go something similar like this in a kinda particular order:
|| you take out roxy she gets her barriere, you take out jetty she gets her barriere, you take out scylla she gets her barriere .. one of the 3 sisters gets a spotlight buff where her attacks will be bigger and hurt more .. best case scenario is if Roxy gets that spotlight buff since her attacks are easier to dodge .. after the spotlight buff happens all 3 of them will recover from there barriere .. if Roxy or Jetty get the spotlight, focus the one with the spotlight first .. if Scylla gets the spotlight go on Roxy and then Jetty and leave Scylla as last .. once Roxy and Jetty are gone Scylla will start spawning fishes .. take care of the fishes and jump on Scylla once all fishes are dead .. she will eventually start spawning fishes again so repeat the process and win the fight ||

it depends on alot of things .. first of all || your game state, how many upgrades you have on the weapon-aspects, how much of the arcana board you have activated, how much max. Grasp you have unlocked, how many of the keepsakes you have collected|| and so on .. but on the thought process I always go like the following:
||I start with looking on my aspects which one I want to play .. Lets say Im using an aspect which focuses on Omega Attacks .. I start at the arcana board and figure out a setup which will help me to have magick, boost my (omega) attacks and maybe get some rerolls or even the 30% chance for an epic boon|| after that Im opening up the || shadow book to check up on the boons the gods are offering .. on an (omega) attack focused playstyle I would always prefer Aphrodite or Hera as the first god so go into the shadowbook and check their boons which ones you want .. lets say you want the attack boon of aphrodite .. so you equip your aphrodite keepsake .. check out the duo boons aswell which one of the other gods would give you a good duo Boon with Aphro for your playstyle which you are thinking of ||
Once I have figured these things out I just start the run and try to follow my plan I just set up for myself in the base

Yes but it doesnt take long to learn and when you do, it isnt too hard to switch back to the tap space in regular hades as I thought i would. I do think its a good change though. This is a different game than the last one and i think it would be really boring if melinoe had a 'just dash' ability like zag did. i recently went back and played a round of regular hades and found that hades ii's sprint requires you to actually become a better technical player than before because we used to just be able to spam space to deal damage vs actually having to put in brain power into orienting yourself for better attack angles.

I actually never really considered that before. I think right now I dont really have a need to dash and walk since i have unlocked and upgraded the ||speed arcana card|| and have been able to strafe around attacks. Its actually been more fun strafing around versus timing my dashes as I used to in hades.

There's some projectile attacks that you can memorize and stand in the gaps of, there's also some AOEs that're a little too tight to sprint around, though generally if you aren't sprinting you should be attacking

There's an autofire option in accessibility, and turning it on makes a mechanical difference: it forces you to perform a full melee combo before you can start charging an Omega attack.
But if you had an "autosprint" option (ie. Melinoe would keep sprinting after a dodge), would it make a mechanical difference?

Though I don't think you can unlock trials until well after the point where the first trial would necessarily feel ridiculously easy. I suspect it's not about new players but about encouraging players to try the trials for a quick and easy reward. And then they might continue with the trials to experiment with builds that they wouldn't normally use.

I like the mechanic because it presents players with a pre-made interesting build for each aspect and encourages them to try each aspect without necessarily having to commit to a complete run.

On that note, Hades (the series) has never really been balanced around speedrunners/challenge runners and I personally don't see that changing

I think it's a sort of in-joke into the in-universe mechanics of that area, ||in Hades 1, Tartarus scrambles its layout every time to hinder any potential escapees, but you are using your authority/admin access as Underworld Princess to override the scrambling and set the quickest path to the House||

it doesn't continue registering the sprint button if you get interrupted or something -- i think if you dash attack same thing. so you really have to be conscious about pressing dash and holding again. it only works the first time if that makes sense, and then you have to dash into sprint again.

i do recall hades being a bit more liberal in how it allowed you to sprint and dash just holding the button. Now in h2 you have to re-press it a lot more often.

This may be a better topic for #h2-discussion but I'm too afraid of spoilers. But I feel like there is some room for improvement with the bosses. I have no complaints with ||Hecate|| -- though I prefer the Fury sisters from H1, I think ||Hecate|| is well designed to teach the new mechanics of H2. I adore ||The Sirens|| it's a fantastic fight and is very possibly my favorite between both games. I like the concept of ||Cerberus|| but something has always felt off to me. It doesn't hit the same way any of the other bosses in H1 and H2 do for me. Maybe because it is more solemn, less ironic/sarcastic/witty/goofy -- it just stands out to me, I've struggled to express why. I think Phase 1 of ||Chronos|| is okay, I think I mainly dislike the arena. While I haven't completed phase 2, I vastly prefer phase 2 of ||Chronos|| to phase 1. The ||Cyclops|| is fine, honestly haven't fought it enough to have much of an opinion. ||Eris|| wiped the floor with me, and I've only had the one fight -- so my opinion is on hold there as well.

there are some time aspects to the combat that can make it feel a touch turn-based. you dont fully stop it but you get to slow things down frequently and the combat has a rhythmic feel

The torches just feel kind of lame to me.||

­­I could be wrong, but there's difficulty level called God Mode that basically lowers the damage you take whenever you die. I think it also increases the damage you make. I would believe that it's available right off the bat, but I could be wrong. You just have to go in the options before starting a new save. You need to unlock || The Oath of the Unseen || which are only available after completing runs, BUT if you are too good || the game slows down your progress, which can be a challenge in of itself. ||

Cast then use your special with either of your weapons and that will stun them

If they are armored use your omega cast, leaves them at 1 hit to break armor

something to remember is that its (or at least its trying to be) a soulslike game which means each enemy has specific moves and attacks that they telegraph and that you can learn to watch out for and learn how to avoid

but anyway the most important thing to know about hades is that you're going to spend a lot of time dying and there's zero shame about it (i've done hundreds of runs and i'm confident i've died in 90% of them), there's a lot of advice you can take from others but most of it's going to be you figuring it out as you go along

OK! My version of "What if" I came up with this morning. So, as we know, Orpheus and Efridiki were not shown in the game. WHAT IF, at the moment when Orpheus ran away to Eurydice, he fell into Chronos’s “Chrono Loop” trap, where he was trying to get to his beloved? During the “chrono loop,” Orpheus gradually loses his mind due to the fact that the loop either returns him to his childhood state or to the present one, and he rushes between two times. I drew a couple of concepts of what Orpheus might be like after a few years of chrono loops, the pictures are a little poor quality since I did everything very quickly so as not to lose the meaning. The pictures show Orpheus himself and the arena that will be under him (since he will be one of the bosses). What about Eurydice? She will be at the new location, but only as an “assistant during the races to Orpheus.” She will also change, since chronos took her home, friends and lover. She knows that Orpheus is in almost the same place where she is, but cannot do anything because of the powers of Chronos, but with successful three races with Orpheus, after the victory of Melinoe, Eurydice will burst into the arena where she will hold Orpheus in order for Melinoe lifted the curse.

The aspect itself is that whenever your cast deals damage, whether it be from a boon like storm ring or from the omega cast, you charge up a meter indicated by the blue circle next to your mana bar. This meter determines how much longer your omega special travels and gives you control over how it moves by using your movement keys

i like to give benefit of the doubt consider i play very specific playstyle but Charon Axe genuinely felt like it has no difference to stock

it could have a really dumb effect that could make a comeback and it just might make sense but thats just a boring one, remember the stygian greed?

or make it able to summon projectile which other axe doesnt have similar to ||Charon's ghosts crescent from the first game||

and Than axe while its solid, its boring for a weapon, for one you are maxed out at 13% and no more or no less

axe is probably the most solid of all the weapons but it definitely has somewhat lackluster aspects

Another one that i also found it kind of meh is Persephone's Revaal

unless i am missing a very specific build for it then idk how special it is to use over stock

Medea is Hera 2 electro boogaloo and i do abuse that very frequently back in H1 so glad it made a come back ig

what fear setup are you using right now? I would avoid onion, rebuke 2, timer 3, abandon (obv), and suffering. honestly 32 is still flexible enough to fully turn off timer if you really need that, as long as you're patient during encounters cause you'll probably have a lot enemies to deal with

if you have timer 3 don't also use commotion

and for blades, id recommend hestia attack and then get a few supporting boons like pyro technique and natural gas :) good luck out there!

Vow of Panic and Vow of Forsaking are basically free
Vow of Desperation for 7 minutes is quite manageable, especially if you will take all free rooms (shops, NPCs, Chaos gate instead of Encounter) and when you feel comfortable you can try to do the same with 5 minutes, which will give +3 fear
Vow of Wandering is also pretty easy
Vow of Haunting just takes some time to get used to
Vow of Destitution is also manageable, yeah it's less goods from the shop for you, but it is not as bad as it might sound
Vow of Skars for 75/50% may be a way to go if you are to afraid have no healing at all

Vow of Rebuke for 1 barrier is also not that hard, with 2 barriers might get annoying

I personally like ||Aspect of Charon||, and it makes Vow of Rebuke somehow freeish. But it is mana hungry, so you should get good magic regen as soon as possible, even before any offensive boon. Lucid Gain (Apollo) is S+ tier for this aspect.

If you like ||Lim and Oros|| then I believe ||Aspect of Artemis|| is the easiest one to use.

Also, with higher fear I would recommend getting Haephestus in the pool for Mint Condition and Trusty Shield. Anything that will allow you to make mistakes. Taking Bones as minor reward for shield also works, as it basically one free hit.
