It's funny that the Weapons I don't initially like exceed my expectations afterwards. I have finally managed to complete a 32-Fear run on my 149th attempt, and Skulls with Aphrodite's Attack and a couple of lucky ||Icarus'|| Hammers completely melted Chronos down. So I guess I have no right to complain about Skulls. 🙂

I sometimes win hitless and sometimes lose four DDs, the former can be on 36 Fear and the latter on 12; it just depends on how I’m feeling mentally by the time I reach him for a lot of runs.
If you’re still struggling to dodge his attacks, I’d recommend taking off the Timer if it’s on, and literally just spend as much time as you can in his fight figuring out A) the timings for his attacks and B) the tells for them (especially the Scythe Throw) since being proactive is almost always gonna beat out being reactive

Did mine with Eos for both Regions, and neither build was necessarily all that comparatively strong since I went for a meme Hephy Attack build for the Underworld and the Surface was just so much of a joke that I don’t even remember what the build was lol

I’ve since done 32 on Moros, Mel Axe, and Persephone (I think) tho, but I’ve also been going more for 40 Fear attempts than going for multiple 32 clears (which I should probably do more of before climbing Fear, come to think of it)

It’s the highest known charon, afaik. Charon has 3 really painful vows - rebuke and panic, wonder how this was done. Judging by the timer, Chaos boon did a LOT of work

Make sure the onion appears on location 1 or else instant restart, get Hera ASAP for born gain, take every location skip or timer pause option that's available, try to get Hephy booms for defense, and then everything doesn't matter as long as you can apply Origination. Demeter and Hestia are great for cast for origination purposes. Need a good hammer and Chaos to land high and a lot of restarts lol

i've tried a few runs that way but it was far less successful, the damage dropoff without strength, origination, the furies, and Omega Cast dmg hurts a lot

the best run i've had so far and one of the few times I've gotten out of Erebus with the aspect at 50 is actually forcing Demeter cast before born gain because the shards will quickly pop the shields and clears pretty well, you just need to run into decent chambers that aren't too large

About halfway through Erebus i decided to do a sprint focus run with Zeus's sprint (cause why not?) and some hephaestus blasts on special to ease the pain
I would recommend people not choose to do the same with extra enemy max health, tiered up enemies and more enemies (which are normally quite fun to have on) while also only having fixed gain
Zeus's sprint being strictly single target was really painful

I think Zeus sprint works best with Melinoe Torch. Apply Blitz using Zeus Omega Special then partner the sprint with Aphro+Zeus boon where Blitz instantly explode with increased damage when sprinting

I haven't gotten the legendary. That's what's holding me up. I did the 32F with god mode. Now I finished doing 16F on both surface and underground with godmode off, and I'm doing 32F without god mode. For the street cred

Chaos boons reset even if you give up and start the run over AND the chaos's trinket counts towards the boon requirement meaning you can reset you run and roll your rerolls until you get it if you find a chaos in the first few rooms of first biome

The starting seed should stay the same, chaos boon should be changing from incrementing rng somewhere before you grab the boon

maybe I haven't looked at the game files to confirm but in my experience chaos boons offered will be different in room 2 of a run (which is how I got the legendary, 'give up' into second room reroll spam into give up until I got it)

Hi I just wanted to come in here and say that after 140 hours I have finished all the content the game has to offer so far. All relationships maxed out, every chaos trial cleared, every keepsake at 3*, every weapon aspect fully upgraded, all 3 statues unlocked and every testament done. I love this game so much! Oh man, I've been thinking about this sort of build for a while, and it took a few tries to get it but I finally did. Coarse grit + revenge boons was the original idea, but when I remembered that I can give my revenge boons to undead servants that opened up a lot of possibilities. It came fully only at the end of the fields but once it did holy crap was it great. I legitimately almost didn't take damage once I had everything set up and my bois took care of business while I spammed spin2win. Revenge boon stacking is super fun.

This patch is so much fun, this was my first run. Apollo vanilla cast isn't so great for the persephone charging, but it's fine when Rude Awakening just becomes the theme of the build. I was getting about 1200-1500 damage Smithy Sprints. I was also trying to go for the Aphro Heph duo, but I didn't get set up in time for it to be offered. Extremely fun.

Also Glamour Gain is actually ridiculous and just universally better than every single regen in the game if you aren't absolutely destroying your mana pool every chamber. It's free curse application without even needing to press a button

Born Gain still probably gets instant mana batteries going, but the free curse application by being in melee range is just so good

Especially with the Weak buffs

I still need to check out new Hestia and Zeus regens, so maybe those will impress me with the context. But like... I think you literally will always want glamour gain on like Medea or other aspects that don't need to spend tons of mana to enable

Hephaestus is extremely appealing to take offensively now. The duo changes for him are a big upgrade I think. Rude Awakening is quite good

Would be nice to know if it works like Blitz did last patch (no clue if it's changed, they mentioned something about Blitz in the patch notes)

this is genuinely the most fun ive had playing this game, glamour gain keeps perma weak on nearby foes which is all of them because of island getaway, since everything is weak hot flash means scorch just never diminishes which makes pyro technique +100% multiplicative damage with no downside, and freezer burn (which i picked up in tart endshop but still made it onto top 5 damage) is comically easy to get big numbers with because scorch just keeps going up, and it does 200% of current scorch BASE before % bonuses like origination which made it do crazy numbers

That and Dark Side does just enough DPS to walk right into a massive crowd of Tempus or Goldwraiths and take them out with low risk. Still not what I'd call a good Hex, but it's got a use.
